Loved Pipeline! I Flew down from Cincinnati at 545AM spent the day at Sea world Getting lots of rides on Pipeline. Then was back at the airport at 7PM in Orlando to catch a 10 pm flight back to Cincinnati. Left My House around 330 in the morning and got back about 200 am! what a day! $100 dollars spent on the day for airfare! totally worth it.
I live near by and have probably ridden Pipeline 20 times. If you pay really close attention, the coaster itself tracks glass smooth however the rattle is actually coming from the frame/seats.The center of gravity is so high and while that can't be changed, hopefully after this prototype B&M can beef up the seat design to minimize the rattle. I could be biased with SW being one of our home parks, but I do really find that sensation of the launch, and the mix of airtime and positive G's a really cool experience. Glad you enjoyed it even though it wasn't an A+ in your book!
great break down of the surf coaster! I like how you did the 2 different POV's front and back. I remember hearing about this so very cool you got to experience it!
I nearly got thrown out of Seaworld back in 1998, I was collecting baseballs from the various parks like Disney, Universal and Busch Gardens, I couldn’t find one in Seaworld in the shop, but they had a baseball bat with Seaworld branding, I picked one up and my wife was looking at the cuddly animals, I went over and saw a pile of cuddly seals and pretended to hit one, a member of staff came over and said “We’re about conservation not cruelty Sir! Would you leave the store?” I said I was only joking, she replied “Do I need to get security?” I left with my head in shame and my wife embarrassed, had to have a little laugh later about the situation, when we went they only had Journey to Atlantis as the biggest ride, enjoy your trip guys.
I liked this one. The suspension makes the airtime moments feel awesome. I'm unsure if the theming has changed since last year, but the park displayed some great educational info on coral reef conservation along the walkway. Surf music similar to The Ventures was playing on the overhead while the staff wore beach attire. The ride experience feels like riding waves. The queue is also made to look like a pier on the beach. I enjoyed it but can see how it is lacking if you're used to riding Universal or Disney's coasters.
I was at SeaWorld on September 7th and I road pipeline twice. The restraints are very restrictive and though the ride itself is very smooth and quite exciting, once you get into the waiting area to go back in the station, the "air" in the seat (whatever keeps the seat moving up and down) "deflates" and any weight put on the seat will "sit" you down and you can't move the seat back up, so you have to just "sit" there in a very uncomfortable seating position in the beating sun for up to a minute while the the next car is loaded and launched. After two rides and walking about 10 miles that day total, my butt HURT any time I sat down a certain way or tried to jog or run and this did not go away for a good couple weeks. I'd love this coaster more if the seats were not so tiny and uncomfortable to "sit" on.
Pipeline is amazing. The only downside is the operations are really slow so you have to wait in the sun for quite a while. But it still is a great ride 👍
Looks like a fun ride! Within all of the Sea World/Busch Gardens parks Sea World San Diego rides definitely have the minimalist of themeing. I would love to have the themeing on Pipeline, Ice Breaker, etc lol
Love the potential this ride has... After 3 of us with 3 very different builds rode it, we all had differing experiences. My buddy who is on the plus size loved the movement but the little nylon strap behind his neck that connects the vest together REALLY dug into the back of his neck. He also had a couple of hard landings on his feet. I am 6 foot tall and really enjoyed this, especially with it being a prototype EXCEPT for the hard vests digging into my collar bones. The material for the vests is fine for coasters with no airtime... B&M needs to make them softer like on Manta. The 3rd person in our group was not a fan. He's 5'2" and 120. He was not heavy enough to get the movements, but, slammed down once and it slightly injured his hip. We love the concept, but, serious tweaking of the trains needs to be done.
I disagree with your opinions on Pipeline. Pipeline was never supposed to be real forceful, it focuses on airtime. People hated the original standups because they were too uncomfortable and forceful. Pipeline is the second best coaster at sea world hands down. Ive been riding it since May and i actually never felt the ride to be forceless, even in the front row. Front row my favorite seat BTW. Backrow is a little rougher and has alot more force.
@@EmmaGroves24 yeah, I'm not really sure what Shaun's expectations were originally for pipeline, but the coaster is anything but a disappointment. I've taken friends and family on it and everyone of them is blown away. The coaster was supposed to be a new generation surf coaster (they don't like calling it a standup) and focuses on airtime and banking. The inversion is called a wavecurl inversion (alliup in surfing terminology). The ride is just amazing. Two days earlier Shaun is saying how unique and awesome minions blaster is at universal and then says what he does with Pipeline. Minions is possibly the lamest new ride out there.
idk it’s a good ride for what it is i guess. it’s just kinda does nothing. i got off and thought i wouldn’t be devastated if this was a one hit wonder but if they built more it wouldn’t hurt them
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! As mentioned we found it a fun ride, just not quite as good was we thought it would be. Everyone has different opinions on coasters which is always great fun!
Such a crazy coaster, completely different to shockwave as my feet kept flying but that is great as it’s a surf coaster and probably one of the best standup coasters out there imo
Pipeline is a worlds first, so can totally understand not going to far with it design wise in case it’s viewed too uncomfortable. It’s why Air or Oblivion which were also worlds first are nothing special. I’m sure another park will take this ride system and push its limits further. That being said, Shawn has been on 1000+ coasters and Charlotte likely close to that now. Their opinions on what’s good will differ greatly compared to an average rider. Loving the vlogs so far. Looking forward to your cruise ones!
Fancy one of these in the UK.....come on Alton Towers this would be a great replacement for Air/Galactica....they could excavate to enable some height although that's not such an issue with this style of coaster. Great looking ride great review😊❤
I rode this for the first time today, and as a slightly larger rider (not massively so, I don’t have problems fitting into coasters but I do need to lose a few pounds 😂), it’s not the most comfortable. Restraints are fine, airtime is fine, but the positive forces are a lot to deal with on the legs. I think it’s because you’ve launched up into the air and then slam back down onto your legs for the positive forces - you feel it in a way that you don’t with Shockwave at Drayton Manor. So just beware of that if you’re a larger rider, it might spoil your enjoyment a bit 😬
Nice looking rollercoaster & interesting train length and looks, maybe could of done with maybe 2 more inversions added in? Could do? Instead of helixes, as don't think one is enough and think more inversions could be something added to coaster in future? Ok layout, but yeah could do better, good POV's though. But yeah could do better to be honest. Nice vlog, have shared on Reddit & Twitter, look forward to next being full vlog, cheers again. 😀👍
newer B&Ms aren't as smooth as they used to be. something changed but more than half of the B&Ms from late 2000s and on all have a moment or two... or more of some rattle. results vary a lot. I'm never surprised anymore.. & the best restraints accentuate this rattle IMHO but.. they still are all very tolerable and very fun for me 😊
I do agree the ride does look fun and the train design is very creative but I think it just lacks theming in the station and the layout isn’t the best after the inversion but not bad. Personally I think it was a good addition to the park
Most feel good riding on a coaster you haven't done before. Especially with new concepts and designs. Looks good! But obviously, more for looks and novelty than for adrenaline. Ps you'll have to give that bouncing some more consideration later on 😉👍
Super looking ride and those train cars look mega comfy probably far more than Shockwave at Drayton Manor however for me it doesn’t look to be as intense as Shock Wave. One inversion it could have been better. Probably the back row is definitely the best row to sit. Still great fun for Seaworld.
I really think you should stand at an angle on this so it was more like the real stance for surfing...looking at the train design it looks like they could have easily done this
My husbands tip is just make sure you position yourself well on the seat ready for the air time drop down ha ha . He came off looking worse for wear 😊😂
Its great to see that B&M have heard feedback and redone their standup coasters to make elements more comfortable/enjoyable. I hope this sets the standard for future models!
Note: the Locker system here is very different to Universals system. Here you have a 4 digit code use. If confused, there are tutorials on UA-cam to explain.
considering the last few b&m coasters that have opened have had people complaining about a rattle, it kind of does bring in the thought of, could nemesis have this rattle that these other b&m coasters have been having?
I think they might have missed a trick here, you should be riding through waves and water effects etc and it could have lots of tight left and right cornering etc with small airtime pops each time, just my opinion but let down by the theming imo. Love to hear both sides of the argument though, thanks for the vid appreciated ❤
I'm flabberghasted you didn't like this more than other standups. Standups to me shouldn't be forceful, putting all that force on your feet especially when walking around all day is the worst. I thought B&M nailed this ride, great airtime, good flow, and unique bouncing. One of B&M's best coasters.
I watched the launch day for Pipeline on Super Enthused, it looks awesome and i really love the design and theme throughout. I'd absolutely live the chance to ride this one day. Great fitting theming for the area 🌊 🏄♀️
I've always thought B&M were the best of the best, so I'm hoping we still have a lot to see from them. It's good to hear the LSM launch works well. Imagine a new-gen, multi-launch sitdown looper from them!
I agree with your review. I found pipeline disappointing. Super short, not that forceful and rattley. Not one I'll rush back too. Also very slow operations at SeaWorld in general during my recent trip.
Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from SeaWorld Orlando to experience Pipeline The Surf Coaster! This NEW generation stand-up roller coaster manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard opened at the park in May 2023 and features unique surfboard trains. In this video, we share on-ride POVs from Pipeline: The Surf Coaster along with our full review! Keep the good videos coming on the channel.😀😎👍👍
B and M's are known for their rattle but this coaster is too new for that ... wonder why? Also it looks like it doesn't have that built in anti-man seat like other stand ups ... guys know what I mean! Great job as usual Shawn and Charlotte!
The 5% surcharge that the SeaWorld parks are adding to their food and merch prices really should not be legal... they do it that way rather than adding 5% onto the advertised prices of food and merch because 1) they don't have to print new price tags and add them to the merch this way, and most importantly 2) many consumers may not realize the impact of a 5% bump in prices if the advertised price doesn't change, but are also unlikely to make an issue out of it once they go to buy a $40 piece of merchandise only for it to ring up as $46.40 or something after the surcharge and sales tax are added in. It's a similar pro-business/anti-consumer logic as to why businesses aren't mandated to advertise their prices with sales tax included - the proponents say "it's just so difficult to have every location of our national restaurant chain show the prices based on each location's specific taxes" but they also know full well that there's a huge difference in the mind of a consumer when they go to buy something priced at $4.99 vs something priced at $5.34 when tax is included.
I have 1 week left I'm orlando on I drive ,planning on going back to car show Sat on old town ,, But see you never done stingray nursery or dolphin nursery ., Dolphin show top of stadium at sea world same height of coaster ..
Its a prototype, of course the layout won't be perfected yet. When it comes to stand up coasters, of course it is going to ride way different as well. You cant really compare this to other stand up coasters. The original stand up coasters definitely are inversion focused, while this is more so just twisty elements. I also think that the ride being a little less forceful makes people want to re ride it more as the other stand up coasters caused a lot of pain in peoples legs from to extreme of forces.
I was at SeaWorld back in April/May just before Pipeline opened so saw it being tested. It looked so slow back then and doesn't seem to have improved. SeaWorld is struggling right now and the last few additions to the park haven't been great. The only reason I'll go back to SeaWorld is because I can basically get free tickets when you buy the Busch Gardens deal.
That is to bad to hear that the ride is not that great. I think they were definitely going towards more family friendly, so I'm not surprised that it was not that intense. But disappointed to hear that you both thought the ride experience left something to be desired.
Sounds a bit underwhelming but at least its something new and innovative in a previously dead space. Disney only seem to be able to replace already existing rides these days.
It’s a shame because it was probably the biggest let down for me this year. By no means the worst attraction in Orlando, but definitely not living up to the hype for me. The new vehicle concept is good though, and with a better layout, the model could be incredible.
Just wanted to say, thanks for the best ride and roller coaster reviews on UA-cam! Let me translate something for everyone, if you're a guy and you have junk you will probably wish there was more padding on the seat. And, if you're a female and you have larger boobs, you'll probably have a harder time with the harness
Currently building another Rollercoaster. Hoping it's gonna be like riding a Jetski. I know they've done this at another park. Just adds to the variation, especially after losing the old Penguin ride attraction.
It's all right. I didn't hate it, didn't love it. The airtime is cool getting thrown upwards but there's not enough of it. Too much meandering with the turns and helices in the latter half. Both times I rode it it was on one train for no reason too. Theming is pathetic. And honestly.... I'm kind of bored of B&M coasters at Seaworld hahah. 2 misses for Seaworld in a row for me. I mean, like I said, it's not bad, it's just not as great as a coaster there could be.
Thank you for watching! Check out our full vlog from SeaWorld Orlando here ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/-UHgE9SxZaE/v-deo.htmlsi=TYGvWtKjO0D9NcRW

For me...and you, lol, I love the selection of attractions here and looks so beautiful there with the light blue sky, lake and landscaping.
Such a unique coaster
How does it feel doing inversions standing up?
The inversion was pretty smooth!
You pair look like you are having a ball this trip !!.. love the roar of a B&M beauty always ! Awesome pov
I love Shawn’s reaction on the front row 😂 “oh wow…WOO!… oh wow…WOO!… eheheh. WOO!”

Yeees beautiful
We noted that operations are slow as too many people getting refused on the basis of being too chunky for the restraints!
It does take quite a while to dispatch trains!

It does seem very strange!
I think B&M will improve on this in the future
Hey guys how would u fimd the middle of the Ride would be???
The 5% surcharge that the SeaWorld parks are adding to their food and merch prices really should not be legal... they do it that way rather than adding 5% onto the advertised prices of food and merch because 1) they don't have to print new price tags and add them to the merch this way, and most importantly 2) many consumers may not realize the impact of a 5% bump in prices if the advertised price doesn't change, but are also unlikely to make an issue out of it once they go to buy a $40 piece of merchandise only for it to ring up as $46.40 or something after the surcharge and sales tax are added in. Completely agree with this!
I have 1 week left I'm orlando on I drive ,planning on going back to car show Sat on old town ,,
But see you never done stingray nursery or dolphin nursery .,
Dolphin show top of stadium at sea world same height of coaster ..
Have a great time!
Pipeline just looks fun. Stand ups are too painful and unenjoyable. This is changing that
I don't like vest restraints anymore. The only comfortable ones now I'm 6'2 are flying coasters.
Hey! I recognize this park......
Why is Shockwave at Drayton not a stand-up coaster anymore?
It still is this year however will be converted next year!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
What do you think about BPB increasing the height of The Big One by 2 feet to make it 'the tallest UK coaster'.
It’ll be interesting to see if it actually happens!
Think it was a marketing ploy cause remember they count height from sea level Thorpe Park is ground up
How is it possible for somebody to app on your phone in Pipeline when entering the station after the ride? Loose article policy?
You can have a phone in your pocket if it’s secure
There is no metal detection to go through. Thus as long as all is secure and the rules are followed, the attendants will be happy.
They are certainly investing heavily into the park at the moment!
That is to bad to hear that the ride is not that great. I think they were definitely going towards more family friendly, so I'm not surprised that it was not that intense. But disappointed to hear that you both thought the ride experience left something to be desired.
It was fun, just not spectacular!
I found the vests pretty painful, and I don’t usually mind vests
They are pretty tight
Is it better than Shockwave at Drayton Manor
It’s a very different experience really!
Sounds a bit underwhelming but at least its something new and innovative in a previously dead space. Disney only seem to be able to replace already existing rides these days.
It also looks great off ride!
It’s a shame because it was probably the biggest let down for me this year. By no means the worst attraction in Orlando, but definitely not living up to the hype for me. The new vehicle concept is good though, and with a better layout, the model could be incredible.
It’s a nice ride for the park, however I look forward to riding one with a better layout hopefully in the future!
You sounded like you enjoyed the ride WAY MORE from your reaction while riding it than your mostly negative review about it all afterwards. 🤷♂️🏄♂️
I enjoy riding any coaster and this was great fun, just not quite as good as I was hoping for!
Thank you so much!
Hey how did you guys first meet? And were you child Sweethearts??
We met at Alton Towers
@ThemeParkWorldwide awwwww brilliant cheers guys take it was love at first Thrill Ride?? Hehe lol ❤️
🏄♂💙👍
Great to see B&M changing it up, but this does look slow and dare I say it.. a bit boring?
Can seaworld build something else apart from a roller coaster they have been building too much
Currently building another Rollercoaster. Hoping it's gonna be like riding a Jetski. I know they've done this at another park. Just adds to the variation, especially after losing the old Penguin ride attraction.
Would love to see a dark ride!
It’s a good fun ride, just nothing spectacular!
