Nine years ago on Route 66 with my brothers we stopped at the general store outside of Flagstaff. We had our picture taken with some of the local men at the store. After taking a picture one of the men said "Do you want a picture with my gun?". So we have two versions of that photo! They also told us about 200 yards up the road was some broken up pieces of "The Mother Road" dumped alongside the road. They had resurfaced the road and dumped pieces of the "original" road in the woods! So we got some nice route 66 souvenirs at this stop! Your videos are GREAT!
I love Flagstaff. My family lived there from 1964 to 1967. This was before the Interstate so everyone actually drove on Route 66 to get through town. I have many fond memories from my time there. Pluto was discovered at the Lowell Observatory 1930.
That is the most beautiful picture of Carole with her ring I have ever seen! I hope that the memorabilia that Michael has collected goes to a museum with dignity for all to see sometime. Was nice seeing all these towns!
Great video. The "See CAROLE LOMBARD LOST Wedding Ring From GABLE FOUND" you did is amazing. I've had recurring dreams of Carole Lombard Gable since about 10 years ago. I dreamt I was her son. She is always absolutely gorgeous and impeccably dressed in my dreams of her. I really am so glad Mike has catalogued and looked after her personal items. I really hope Michael sets up a museum dedicated to her or donate all those items to a museum that will take good care of them forever. I also wish Michael would take professional photos and videos of all those items and set up a website where all the photos and videos would be published for the public to see and admire. I am so glad you were able to hold Carole Lombard's wedding room, it gave me goosebumps! Now I have to watch Easy Rider again (after about 30 years). I saw it when I was much younger!
Next time you go through Flagstaff you should go up to the Hopi (three) Mesas. Each one is a different type of village. Fascinating.

I was in Williams on June the 11th of June. I had lunch at the restaurant that had the car on the roof. Bought a route 66 sign at the shop you went into also.

I grew up in Omaha, the Steak houses with the cows on the roof were all over! I think life on the road is a retirement goal. But I don't know how. Thank you for the vlog!

This is my favorite part of route 66, the Arizona part that includes Williams, Seligman, Hackberry, oatman, Winslow, Kingman and Flagstaff dont forget Winona and Ashfork. This is the real deal. Then there is a beautiful stop to the Grand Canyon. I would use SR 180 for a beautiful landscape.

Cant imagine the kind of impact it would take to make a passenger lose a wedding ring. I bet Clark Gable asked for it & was told it wasn't with the remains. Very sad ending for this famous Hollywood couple. But glad ring was found for remembrance of their love story.

Conoco- kaa-nah-co, actually Conoco/ Phillips based out of OK.. I had a Aunt that was an Exec Secretary for some of the Tulsa based Oil/Gas companies, it was great, we used to get free stickers. (Kids life in the 60's) Life would be better if we still had the old Mom & Pop gas stations and grocery stores.

Just when I think there couldn’t be anything new to see on route 66, I find out I’m wrong again!
I overnighted in Williams a week ago Friday (6-23)! Good place to stay! Ate at Cafe 66 and ordered the Carnivore, and got stuff from the giftshop and walked the sidewalks after! Zoltar talked at one point when I was there. I saw the Elvis in the car, looked like he had a back spasm he was dealing with.

Love your travelog. If you like the paul Bunyan statues. There's one if chicken boy in Highland park ca which used to be on chicken restaurant on Route 66. A woman saved it and it's now over her shop. Ricko

The lumberjack was in front of Granny’s closet diner and then when that closed they donated it. There is another one in Phoenix as an art exhibit in front of a guys yard. Adam the Woo showed it a couple days ago
