Very good point on tires. It seems to be a constant battle to find the best do everything tire. Mud tires have almost no grip on the hardpack wet stuff, but the stockers are not that great in mud and wet snow. Just gotta look at what terrain you ride "most of the time".
@ATVTVCOM ya i got ya i see the same effects in creeks i ride but thats over about half a year of changes but i know what your talking about. and not trying to be mean i love your vids just giving you a hard time lol.
not that difficult of a trail but then again most people wouldnt do things that i do, like 45 degree hills with 6 inch rocks that are all loose gets pretty crazy, and i mean all rocks you dont even touch dirt.
I used to always say that these trails are a trip of a lifetime and you really, no matter what need to try to ride them once. Of course then I say, once will never be enough ;-)
@pinkfloyd801 I think there was a 500 rubicon and a 650 Prairie on this trip. But I've taken a 400 King Quad up the trail. The trail conditions change after every storm.
@slapoutz That would be the answer right now. A chain will be needed certainly. But really, my main point was how much snow runoff and rainstorms can really change the conditions of the trail. One day it's not so bad and then one storm or a winter season and it doesn't even look like the same trail.....
@slapoutz The trail's condition can change drastically depending on weather. Currently it is impassible - to anyone on anything! Snow and downed trees.
Hi Doug, another great video. I was wondering if this trail is still open? I found the Whitehorse Mine and Willow Springs on my Piute ATV Trail map but with no trail. Also, if it is still open do you know roughly how many miles round trip it would be from Marysvale taken the Barney Lake trail to trail #1 then heading back to Marysvale taking trail #2?
Thanks. The back way to Barney Lake is still open. I don't know the miles but I'd guess maybe 60. We've done that and some other trails at the top and still made it easily in a day and on one tank of gas.
very cool Thank you

I think they were ITP MudLite XTRs. 14" but I recommend the 12". That's what we have on our latest King Quad project...

Look like fun.....

the 50 inch trail?

It might just be worth the drive across the country - someday, maybe ;-)
it is crazy that they made this trail 50 inch or less... we have been up it for years with jeeps and rhinos, get rid of 50 inch or less signs
Awsome video DOUG> Also one of my favorite trails on the Piute trail system. THANKS JIM & TERRI.
Mine too - especially now that it has a 50" gate ;-)
Vehicles on this trail are limited to 50" wide maximum!
beautiful trail. would love to visit one day too bad im on the oposite side of the country lol..
@719pooky Indeed!
Thats what i plan on doing. The trails are not something i can pass up, even with 2,000 miles between us
The Black Diamonds are a bit better but run small, so be prepared. MudLites are great as are Terra Cross and MudLite XTRs.
Thanks I am replacing the tires on my ac366 what would you suggest Itp mud lites or sti black diamonds thanks
Just curious what tires were on the yellow Suzuki king quad thanks
