Please don't forget to identify the particular species of oak of this log. Some of us want to know, especially those who are new to Ozark's trees. If this is a post oak, many have never heard of it. Just got back from the Paul Bunyan show, and most people there were not familiar with or even heard of post oak.
I'm only a woodwoker and a firewood cutter for myself only. So, there was so much there to see in sawmills, wood processors, and splitters, plus all types of attachments for handling logs and firewood. This was my 3rd time, and I'll probably go again next year.
How much of that type of work do you do in the winter months? It's nice having it open but are you sure a winter wind break wouldn't be wanted? Idk Stay safe.❤. If not wood an attached heavy canvas would help. Have fun!❤️😂❤️
It’s hard to estimate how much I’ll mill in the winter months. I’ll basically mill what I need for a project I’m working on. I’m leaning towards building sliding doors but I haven’t decided yet.
Suggestion: In the fall, winter & spring the weather is a bit unpredictable. To give you an element break....Attach a clear (for light) tarp on 3 sides of structure. Angle the bottom out for run off. Come spring you can remove or roll up. No need to fight rain or snow if you don't have to but a shame to close it in to.😂. Anything to stay out of the winter wind. ❄️
Gorgeous wood!!! I wish my floor.....😂 Enjoy the weather.😊
lol. Thanks.

It was indeed post oak. I should have mentioned that.
How was the Paul Bunyan show? I may try and go next year.
