*Lets take this to 1k likes*
*poetry is very difficult to translate, so bare with me*
Hhayi wacothoza uQwana, (Qwana moves with elegance)
Im'balabala, umswenko ngathi uthingo lwenkosazana uMkabayi kaJama, (His swag/Drip is so colourful and radiant like princess Mkabayi's rainbow)
Kulokhu kuvuleka amafu phezulu emkhathini, (The clouds are opening up from the middle of the sky)
Kukhala inkanyezi ib' isithekili kimi, (A star that was previously hidden from me cries out)
Ithi abantu abal'thandi iqininiso, (Saying people do not like the truth)
Ngakho konke okwenzayo kwenzisise ukuze mabekuzonda,
Bek'zondele into ekhona (In all that you do, do it to the best of your ability so that when they hate you, it's for something substantive)
ngoba emphakathini esiphila kuyo, (Because in this society we live in)
Uphenduka inhlekisa nje mawuthi uzama uk'phila iphupho lakho, (You turn into a laughing stock when trying to live out your dream)
Ses'bonga lona igolide kwaNdongaziyaduma, (We are thankful for the opportunities [gold] in Johannesburg)
Buka manje ses'cale sincibilike ngaphamb' kokuthi siconse, (Notice that we first melt before we can shine) *nice poetry here. In the refining process, gold is first melted before it can be the finished article*
Sesinokuswenka nges'peleti masithanda sesikhuphula iimendlela,
Usiko sul'phathiswa okwey'khali zamaNtungwa, (We carry/embody the culture like the weapons of the Ntungwa's)
Abangani bamanga ngeke ubaqede (There'll never be a shortage of fake friends)
Yingakho ngithi "molo mhlobo wami," (That's why I say "hello my friend")
Phind' ubhale futhi Cofi, ngabese ngiyabhala (Write again Cofi, and I wrote)

Moloooohoh,
Oh' ng'khuziwe, (I've been warned)

*Blood River, Zulu name iNcome is an expansive river in KZN, South Africa*
Ng'yababona ngaphesheya k'womfula, (I can see them from across the River)
Bayang'hlekisa, bayang'hlekisa (hiiihiii), (They laugh with me pretending)
Bayng'plan-ela, bayng'plan-ela, (They are plotting against me)
Bafungile, bafungile, (They are cursing me, wishing that I don't succeed)
Bathi ngami baqedile, baqedile, (They think that they have finished me off)
Bang'hlekela ey'nhlinini, (They are laughing behind my back)

Basically his saying "Molo" Hi to my haters that thought he could not make it.
i think amaZulu are taking back their throne in afropop. Baze kabi 2019-2020.
EDITED: This is far from tribalism. This is about how beautiful the music our artists are doing while also embracing our diverse languages. I am so damn proud of that.
And there is nothing wrong with acknowledging who is doing great when it is seemingly a certain group at a certain period.
Our languages are beautiful and there is no reason to not be proud of them and acknowledge them individually.
People who have discriminating mind will see my comment negatively but if you read my comment as i meant it you will see how proud i am of SA music.
Awu siyababongela madoda..
✊
Jah dat true
I think we're just changing seats but Xhosa's have been bullying us for too long
@@Mkhuleko990 to be fair, for the rest of my childhood until early '10's amaZulu were ruling most genres. In afro music uRingo was the only one I remember obezama to fly iflag yamaxhosa.
Things only changed when the likes of Zahara, Vusi Nova and others joined the scene ngabo 2010 and amaXhosa picked up. AmaZulu abhideka kancane since then. Ndabona iMafikizolo ingenela umculo wase Nigeria, lol
And now amaZulku did the most amazing thing, actually collaborating with umaskandi!! It is so beautiful!
Amazulu are still shy of doing the jazzy and soulful sound, bayazi ba istrenght sabo sikwi pop. So amaXhosa are still ruling that sound
NdingumXhosss by the way, and I am just a mad afro music geek!!! ndiwuthanda wonke and wish more south african languages can be given an opportunity!! it is such a beautiful sound.
Moral of the story is people hate honesty. That's why when doing something, make sure you do it well so they can hate you for your authentic excellence...Long and short translation of lyrics: "Everyone, ancestors and parents alike warned me about false friends. I used to be afraid of false friends who were planning my downfall thinking that they're done with me. I can now see them from across the river, I'm no longer afraid of them. I'm grateful to my folks including the departed ones for warning me about false friends. Tell those false friends I said 'HI. HELLO OVETHERE'. I'm no longer rolling with them."
Genuinely no better explanation to it. Ngiyabonga 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🐉
