Strategy the whole race was to stay within 0.4 behind then you have enough draft to pass before the finish line. Last lap, throws the entire strategy out of the window and passes before the bus stop. Never change Dave! lol
So you're telling me that before you watch a video on youtube, you go down and read the comments? Nah you're just searching for attention arent you?@@PeteV80
Really really entertaining race as always Dave, loved watching it mate! There was a lot to learn from you, the way you've constantly tested him and learned his pace and driving style was really inspiring! The title of the video fits perfectly!
Every time I see Daytona at night i have the thought "What arsehole is doing all that flashing of their lights" before I remember its the stanchion lights you're driving under lol
watching you drive is like watching poetry in motion davey, I hope you give the daytona 500 a go tho in NIS as I would love to see you on track in a NASCAR cup car
Jim still calls the Le Mans Chicane "Bus-stop." The name changed when La Sarthe circuit introduced the "Daytona Chicane." It is a bit like two towns being "twinned," except with corners.
Love seeing you race in this series Dave. I'm a dumb American but so forgive my ignorance. When you passed Mr. Anderson, can we say that "You were taking the Mick?" Thanks.
Great race Dave ! I’m currently driving the Aston but on the anti stall gearbox assist setting I need to blip the throttle to shift down do you need to in the corvette or do you use auto blip ? Unsure if you lose time on the up shift if you don’t need to clutch ? Thanks love the content 👌🏻
Hi Dave, you know, I think, Mick has gone off the gas a little bit before the bus stop to make it tempting for you to overtake there. He knew exactly that he can overtake you back coming out of your draft before the finish line. Is he the better chess player? :)
Racecraft showing there Dave.. "i popped my breaks so he could see I was backing off...".. Great race, and unlucky on the finish... but was a great race!

SPOILER ALERT BRUH!!!😅
Guess I don't need to watch it now. Why do people do this?
@@PeteV80Why read the comments before watching the video? Considering comments are usually a reaction to what happened in the video.

Mick is one of Basic Ollie’s teammates at this year’s Daytona 24h. He’s definitely got pace. Great race, Dave!
With Dempsey in there, I was half expecting Matt Malone to be hanging around
Sorry for the start ! Not started P1 in a long time
Good "OLD" me got P3 i feel hurt lol, my heart skipped a beat at the start of the race
All of that setup and patience just to balls up the strategy on the last lap😂 great video Davey lad.

Oh Dave you wrong footed yourself by passing at the Bus Stop.
Great racing throught and very enjoyable.
Keep it up.
👍
The Corvette has great straight line speed. Perfect for this track.
That looked like a matched sprint at the velodrom. Great race.
watching this was like game of thrones. Whole race, strategy, battle were amazing until the last disappointment lap
Love racing like this when you can trust another driver

Ran my first laps at Daytona last week with the new triple setup and spent half a race thinking they were already crapping out on me. Good times.

Nobody’s calling it that except commentators 😂

Auto blip is fine in this car. You don't lose any time 👍
It's only detrimental in cars with a h pattern
God that corvette sounds incredible KAWWWWW
Dayummm hahaha you’ve gotten me to try the Aston and the HPD… now I believe I need the corvette before we leave Daytona…
I like the end recapping all the incidents in the race. Good stuff Dave
Jim calling me slow ! Such arse that guy 😂
Great racing mate 👊
Great race Dave
Dave, you must drive the Ford in this series some day!
well played dave unlucky but insane race
I’m just not going to get “you’ll have a gap in your teeth in a minute jimbo” from any other UA-camr am I 😂

Yes, he definitely was the one with check mate 😁
Nice race, but i think you had pace to overtake him earlier and win it
Should have shown the finish….how close?
Great drive, regardless
I did
@@davecamyt Ah, I replayed the very end.Thanks.
Thank you for the fun content.
Racecraft showing there Dave.. "i popped my breaks so he could see I was backing off...".. Great race, and unlucky on the finish... but was a great race!
Good vid dave as always any idea you gonna do some oval racing again?
Would you call that a "great scrap" or a "right ding-dong"?
A great scrap 😁
playing chess while casually doing 200km/h
decent race, disappointed by the lack of actual chess
Nice race Dave! Are you running trip 27 or 32?
27 👍
@@davecamyt nice. Just made the move to 27 curved. So far so good
Unfair. Ur mrsdave lol
1st 😂
Just a request for 2024 Dave... can you make it realistic? This one looked like ovidiu pop truck simulation.
You've lost me
