Souls of Mischief: The Rap Heroes Invite You To Their Oakland Headquarters

Since forming back in the early ‘90s, Souls of Mischief have always done things their way. In addition to running their own record label, the hip-hop group also owns the Hiero Compound, a building in their hometown of Oakland, California, that features two recording studios, a screen printing lab and a merchandising warehouse. In this profile, Phesto and Opio explain their familial roots, lyrical style and how they feel about Oakland’s recent gentrification.
