@@car10s8D Yeah TASM 2 was a mess, but I liked a lot about it. Like the way they handled Electro's origin story was really interesting - when he first got his powers, he was more disoriented than vengeful, and I like how when Spider-Man came onto the scene he was quippy and ready to fight as usual, but almost immediately he noticed that this guy wasn't out here to hurt anyone and was probably just confused, and so he shifted his approach to de-escalate the situation and build a rapport. It wasn't until the police interfered with violence and an attempt to kill Electro that Electro lost all trust in Spider-Man and turned hostile. When he sees Max in Times Square, he can see that this is a guy who just needs a little bit of love and a little bit of attention. I loved making that connection with him, early in the film. I thought it was super-important. Because, whenever Peter can use his compassion and his humanity to cut through a situation, he'll do it. He'd much rather not fight than fight. Something amazing in the scene: When the man asks him "Who are you ?" He responds with: "I'm Spider-Man." But the thing that makes it amazing is listen to his voice....it's not the cocky, one liner shooting, show off who has the confidence of a Superhero but a boy who is scared, a boy who feels so alone, a boy who faces the reality that he'll never have that moment ever again but then learns that making sure no one will feel that same pain as long as he still draws breath is why he was given these powers and why despite the hardships he'll never regret becoming a hero
It wasn't the montage, or the bite, or the criminals he took down. It was this scene this scene that took the super and put the hero. The scene that made Peter Spider-Man, a true act of heroism. And not a vendetta for his uncles killer. A act that would change Peter Parker and Spider-Mans life forever.
I’ve never understood why people hate the scene of spider man going after uncle bens killer. It is a perfect setup to how he redeems himself in saving the boy on the bridge. In spider man 2002 spider man goes after uncle bens killer out of vengeance but nobody ever says anything about that. Cosmonaut variety hour said something I disagree with strongly. He says that Peter Parker becomes spider man out of revenge. The reason I disagree is because Peter does not become spider man in the scene where he starts to go after his uncles killer. He doesn’t even wear the main suit in that scene. He really became spider man on the bridge scene when he saved the boy and reunited him with his father. He realizes in that scene that he can use his powers for the greater good of other people over himself. Gosh dang it he just reunited a boy with his father, something that can never happen with Peter ever again because of his parents deaths and his uncles death. He will never have the father figure anymore but he knows that if he uses his powers for the good of other people he can stop that from happening to anyone else.
@@philswift1480 anyone would have wanted revenge after an important figure in your life dies especially if you have the power to make it a reality. It's only human to want to do so
How do people hate this movie? This is why I love it so much. He doesn't become Spider-Man immediately. He goes through a realistic struggle at first coping with loss, revenge, and eventually finally understanding the responsibility that rests on his shoulders.
the look on peter's face under the mask is heartbreaking, yet you never see his emotion physically. the scene where the father cares for his son towards the end of this clip, peter's face just says it all: he knows he'll never have that moment with his father, which in turn makes for some emotional moments.
cinema gamer Incredible. I never noticed that until now. I wonder how those Maguire fan girls will respond, now that there is solid emotion in this movie.
This is what made me love Andrew's Spider-man. Even though he shouldn't take off his mask in front of other people, he decides to take off his mask just so he can save the kid in the car.
I think if the mask is gonna come off, it should be done the way it's done here. He does it to show a kid that he's just like him therefore he can trust him.
Tobey did that too in the train scene and what i love about og spiderman he always chooses to save people instead of chasing his enemies superheroes now days kinda forget about being a hero

Considering how just a few minutes before this scene, Peter was at the dinner table arguing with Captain Stacy while he pointed out how Spiderman's current motive was more about pursuing his personal vendetta instead of actually helping people, and Peter then proceeded to make a decision between chasing the lizard and saving a kid, I would say this is actually a consistent and brilliant writing, showing how this version of Spiderman managed to gradually step out of the shadow of vengeance and becomes the friendly neighbor we've been expecting.
For anyone saying that andrew's spidey is weaker because he wasnt able to hold on to the car, take note that he was literally above flames which makes it almost impossible for him to hold on for a long time
Spider-man isn't supposed to have Hulk-like powers. The spider bite gave him moderate super strength at best and being able to hold on to a freaking car for that long is impressive enough edit: ok I get it Spider-man is strong, chill tf out I wasn't even disagreeing with you saps

@lol you do realize I said the best at acting, not the best "actor" as in considering popularity and fanbase. If he had an amazing script like Tobey's you would've realized just how good he is
*This scene teaches us that being a hero isn't always about being strong* (here Peter could have chose to go take out Lizzie but he chose to save the kid) *it's about being kind and helping others*
This scene is so incredibly powerful. Despite its inaccurateness to the comics, I actually like the darker vengeful approach Spiderman initially takes because when we finally get to this moment, we get to see his growth as a character, when he finally earned the virtues to truly become Spiderman.
Actually this scene is accurate to the comics i'm forgot which issue but peter risked his secret identity to a kid that trapped in the building on fire
This actually extremely accurate to the Ultimate comics, and some of the earlier Amazing Spider Man issues. People either forget or don’t know this, but Peter was a really rage filled kid that didn’t merely learn what responsibility and great power fully mean, Ben’s death was a turning point, but it was actually saving people and slowly maturing into the mantle that actually made Peter Parker Spider-Man.
This scene is one of the best super"hero" scenes ever made. In this moment his #1 priority isn't to beat up the bad guy or save the world, it's to save this one normal kid.
@@stnorocwzo Here's the thing about The MCU's Spider-Man. He exists in the MCU. Before he was just a boy with powers stopping muggers and saving people from crashes with a suit he made with his low budget. But then Stark found him and gave him a better suit and it felt good, he felt like a real hero. Because Spider-Man has always had confidence issues. And Spider-Man at the end defeated Vulture without the suit, which yeah, the other two Spider-Men have done. But this was Homecoming Peter's first time in a fight without the suit Tony gave him. Which was the whole point of the movie, to show to Peter that he was Spider-Man. I mean it had that great scene where he was buried under the rubble. Also Tom Holland does most of his own stunts. More than Toby and Andrew did.
I keep coming back to this scene... This moment is when Peter realizes that, "with great power, comes great responsibility." Him taking his mask off for the kid to save him was a very powerful moment.

@@brandonhansen2882 honestly I see tobey as the best peter parker essentially but andrew is the best spiderman as he was very closer to the comic version. You got to see andrew progress into “spiderman” while tobey’s spiderman was more peter parker driven.
The most moving and dramatic moment of all the Spider-Man films! The moment the father hugs his child and the lens focuses on Peter, it is impossible to look at him without tears. The scene reads: you are the same child who needs the love and care of a loved one.
Yo lo miro mas bien como Peter descubriendo su responsabilidad, el nacimiento de este spiderman porque en esa película hasta entonces sólo buscaba al asesino de su tío.
@@DAN-bi2vu I think what you wrote was already in the scene when he argued with his girlfriend's father over the evening dinner. Then the police chief, himself, not suspecting who Peter really was, revealed to him the true motives of his actions, explaining the difference between justice and a desire for revenge.
This scene has so much emotional power to it, the way Peter looks at them, remembering his childhood with his father and understanding the true responsibility of being a hero: helping innocent people and making them happy. And the way the great music just blends in so well, spicing things up. You never got to see his true emotions behind the mask but you literally feel how satisfying it is to help those who are in need. The way he gave his mask to the kid to let him know that he's just a regular guy and like in the comics, wearing a suit and putting on a mask does indeed make Peter feel stronger and more confident.
That’s the most emotional “ Spider-Man “ from the whole movie series . 2:40 - 2:55 I can feel his sadness even his face is hidden under the mask . They should invite Andrew to join MCU , although I like Tom Holland as well .

This is when Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker truly became Spider-Man. This scene. This moment. He had the suit, he had the shooters, he had the power but he wasn’t what Spider-Man truly is until this.
Honestly these movies had many great scenes. I just with the actual story line was better. That and I wish Garfield's portrayal of Parker was more nerdier rather than the smart hipster kid. He made a perfect Spiderman though with his wit and sarcasm. The chemistry between him and Emma Stone is also just great.
The way he says “I’m Spider-Man” still gets me. Like he’s realizing he can actually do this superhero thing and also a little nervous that he has an identity now. Beautiful scene.
Andrew Garfield was the best Spider-Man.....Hands Down I prefer this over Spider-Man Avengers any day. This was more genuine. Even when the Father asked “Who are you ?” “I’m Spider-Man” It’s deeper and more emotional. Today they would’ve made that into a joke somehow.
I never knew what was up with Garfield and catching falling people by webbing there chest I mean at some point your gonna break somebody's neeeeeee......oh nvm
It would be interesting to see. I really can't imagine seeing Garfield interacting w like Downey Jr and Chris Hemworth/Evans. It would be interesting no doubt.
What I love about this scene is that Peter realizes that innocent people are dying and stops his search of Uncle Ben’s killer, decides to become the hero, not someone with vendetta. Especially, it’s shown where he sits and looks at his mask for a while
People believe Garfield’s Spider-Man was born out of revenge which was true but this scene gave Peter the idea that he can be a symbol of hope to people
This is when he became spider man this why I like Andrew more than Tom Holland even though he’s good still doesn’t compare to Toby or Andrew, Marc Webb’s Spider-Man is so underrated
This scene might be one of the best Spider-Man things ever it sounds like Peter is crying under his mask realizing he’s never gonna have a moment like that again but it’s also what motivates him to be Spider-Man so no one else will have to go through the pain he goes through

Too bad the writers fucked the second movie to the point Andrew wasn't in the Avengers. I mean yeah Tom Holland is perfect for the role, but this movie felt right to me.
It would have been doable if they never released the 2nd movie. Remember that the visual effects team working for both TSM and The Avengers, kept this version of New York (which means some buildings and streets that do not exist in reality) in both movies. They share a lot in visuals, so one could argue that some ideas have been exchanged before even thinking about the reboot with Holland. Maybe Sony didn’t agree with the amount of money, or soemthing, but soon after TSM2 they changed their minds. Tony could have recruited Andrew’s Spiderman for Civil War easily after he spent ‘6 months as Spiderman’ in his own movie and made a name for himself so that it would actually make a lot of sense for someone like Tony Stark to investigate his wereabouts. He could be ‘the rookie hero who saved New York from a giant Lizard’ or such instead of a newbie stopping cars from crashing and helping old ladies at crossing the street. Don’t get me wrong, I love Homecoming’s version of Peter/Spiderman. But this was my own opinion regarding the possibility of Andrew successfully joining the Avengers.
This scene filled with many things together power, strength, decision making, deep emotions, motivation inspiration all at the same time ..... Genuinely Amazing.....

But the thing that makes it amazing is listen to his voice....it's not the cocky, one liner shooting, show off who has the confidence of a Superhero but a boy who is scared, a boy who feels so alone, a boy who faces the reality that he'll never have that moment ever again but then learns that making sure no one will feel that same pain as long as he still draws breath is why he was given these powers and why despite the hardships he'll never regret becoming a hero
Yeah, Andrew really killed it with this scene. He's underrated as an actor.

@@TheOminousFlareShow I think you mean in this movie. Andrew is a great actor and is recognized for it in his other roles.
Exactly.
Marc Webb: yo chill bro it’s not that deep
It wasn't the montage, or the bite, or the criminals he took down. It was this scene this scene that took the super and put the hero. The scene that made Peter Spider-Man, a true act of heroism. And not a vendetta for his uncles killer. A act that would change Peter Parker and Spider-Mans life forever.

@@XmanZeo yup

This is what made me love Andrew's Spider-man. Even though he shouldn't take off his mask in front of other people, he decides to take off his mask just so he can save the kid in the car.
He took off the mask as a symbol of trust between him and the kid.

Actually this scene is accurate to the comics i'm forgot which issue but peter risked his secret identity to a kid that trapped in the building on fire
Yeah this scene is extremely comic accurate
The darker vengeful approach happens in the first comic. Spidey hunts uncle Ben's killer.

Before he was just a boy with powers stopping muggers and saving people from crashes with a suit he made with his low budget. And Spider-Man at the end defeated Vulture without the suit, which yeah, the other two Spider-Men have done. But this was Homecoming Peter's first time in a fight without the suit Tony gave him.

This scene is one of the reasons why Garfield's Spiderman is the best one

So they ended up ready to hate it a priori. Scenes like this, like the crane scene, the drama between gwen and peter and his promise to her dad... the dramas were so well made. @@ashhinman1919 it can always be retconed
