Brother I must say THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU ARE SHARING WITH US!!!!! So friggin AWESOME. I just bought a GT1 and you are making my life SO MUCH EASIER. PLEASE KEEP SHOWING US MORE things you can do with a Boss GT1. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
As an old-geezer, I no longer have the ear to figure out tones, nor do I have any patience for programming machines. BRAVO for this video! Thank you very much!
i discoverd your channel a few days ago.great work with the dirty movies video and all the others.i applied this tutorial to my gt1000 and it sounds pretty nice.thank you.
Thanks for the video. Very informative and useful. To pass on something for the evh fans. Is his early tones MAINLY were coming from . His destroyer. A gibson t top 7.5 ohms type humbuckers. Ibanez super distortions. Plus he used to tune to about 14 cents flat. Hed used sweetened tunings. Or also know as tuned to itself . He had a clean tone but pushed through a plexi. It gives you long sustain yet clear quick notes. The sustain and overdriven sound from the marshall takes a clean tone but rings the notes out so he could use harmonics that didn't get muddy from being overly distorted. The long sustain allows you to lightly tap the strings and keep them vibrating and not decay right away. Hes known and talks about learning from Jimmy page. Which his rig is kinda similar. A tonebender for added sustain and longer ringing of the guitar and a echo plex for a slap back reverb style sound. Eddie also used a tape echo as well. So adding a mild reverb on your clean tone can simulate this. The pedal or settings you want from your gear is a plexi marshal tone. Eddies plexi marshall was able to get that overdrive at lower volume using a variac. Because he had stumbled onto the fact he was using american voltage 112 on an english built 220 marshall. So his gear wasn't pushed hard. Yet most people were told buy him to crank a marshall. He wanted to throw off people chasing his tone.
👏👏👏 - spot on. I have a GT1 and just discovered how great it is when using it through an IR instead of the built in cabs. THis patch sounds amazing with an Ownhammer 412 v30
I almost gave up on this unit. I did not know there was a way to assign FX's to the up and down arrows and I did not know there was a momentary setting. Eddie almost always used a flanger intermediately. It was impossible to turn on and off the flanger throughout a song without completely losing your rhythm (I am a ameteur). The rest of the patch is fantastic. You totally nailed it. I have seen numerous attempts at a EVH tone on the GT and the Katana. None compares to this one. Can you do another one for Cathedral?
Very cool.. I've thought about buying one of these.. Do you go direct with it may I ask? Where I play we aren't allowed to use an amp on stage at most clubs.. Typically they ask us to play direct.. So, I'm trying to find something inexpensive to do the same since I only play from time to time and can't justify buying an axeFS or Kemper, etc.. Thanks brother.. Very cool..
Very good...great dialing it in. 1 plus 2 on the Marshall. Means using using a jumper cable to chain the bass and treble inputs together on those amps. On the gt1 you get more lows in the tone..that amp is different..no gain controls on the plexi or superlead.. so the version on the gt1 is more like a modded plexi or superlead. with preamp gain.
If you look at the front panel of a plexi it says volume 1 and volume 2. volume 1 is the treble channel and volume 2 is the bass channel.. Kind of a weird setup compared to what I'm sorry these days but that's the way they did it.
Thank you! And yes I believe you are right. I played through a Plexi once and I absolutely loved it, but surprisingly enough I was running a Behringer V-amp in the front. Ha! But, regarding the no gain on the actual amp, the modelers have every amp layed out the same for convenience, I guess.
@Gary Schutt Had one of those too around 2004! Hated the interface but they had some really good amp tones..lol Try the Soldano model with tube screamer in front. And add the Tera echo..That's a lead tone to die for.
You are awesome at spotting guitar tones; I'd never thought of the 300ms delay even tho it's pretty logical since delays were very short in those days...same goes for the order putting the fx before the amp (and the global eq with the presence ecc...). Now my all time fav tone is the one from Piece of mind by Iron Maiden. Could you do something for it please? I really love that dark raunchy distortion!
I like the fact the GT-1 has many buttons unlike the Line 6 products where every knob is a switch a button and a scroll. Also the GT 1 can run on batteries
Gary. Does this boss have a micro pitch effects like or something you can use for the eventide effect like Vai used and Eddie used later on, etc? If so, do you have a patch for it? ❤ Thanks brother. Great stuff man.. 🤘❤️🤘
Great job on the video. Question , did you start this patch from scratch or modify a already existing patch . Sorry if I missed something here . For a smaller unit this thing can be a bit complicated and confusing for a old timer such as myself .Thank you for sharing
It can have a big learning curve if you're not used to multi effects processors like this. I forget exactly, but I think I found one hard rock patch that I liked and tweaked it to my liking. Most of the default patches are unusable. Lol. And i continue to tweak it. I've been using the MS I+II for a while, but now I'm trying out the BGNR UB.
Thanx for sharing..I try to follow on your instruction on youtube..I can't do it..if you don't mind to help me out and I'll pay for your time to set up the evh 1978 program to my boss GT-1..thanx

You are very welcome. I have a few more things in mind but I'm starting to run out. Lol

I love my GT-1, but it doesn’t sound like this…Now it will! Thank You so much for sharing your settings!
Just bought a new guitar and been a Van Halen fan ever since I was a kid (27 now) this preset setting is a dream come true!! Thank you 🙏

Thanks for the clear settings demo! Great EVH tones.
WOW!! Very Nice!! Thank you for sharing this! I added a pedal bend effect to this patch so I can drop to Eb tuning whenever the pedal is pressed down.
Thank you for sharing this, I just purchased a GT 1 and figuring it out is a little overwhelming.
Thats a badass little unit! Nice demo!!!
i didn't realize you can set gt1 in stomp mode, jaw-dropping. i will definitely buy gt1.

How do you use IRs with your GT-1?
Hello where I can buy a IR loader or box with IR’s ? Brands ? I have gt1 and want to work with IR, thanks in advance cheers, ✌️

You’re a genius! Thank you so much!

Killer tones buddy, Might have to trade my TC G system for the boss Gt -1?

Thanks! Awesome video... question I have is are you running through an actual amp? If so what?
Yes I'm running through the effects return of a Peavey Bandit 112.
Good job sounds very close just goes to show you don’t have to spend a fortune to get these tones 👍

How did you set it to manual mode
.
Hi can u do for yngwie setting? thanks
Which era? Lol
Just to clarify, is your output select “front jc120” or “send return jc120”?
Front
@@GarySchutt so its jc120 front connected ti the effects return of the bandit. Unconventional, but it works
Yes! I love it. If it sounds good....ya know?
I think 5150 more HiGain.
Wicked dude!!!
