    Today, I'm skirting a raw wool fleece. Skirting a fleece is the first step in processing a sheep fleece so it can eventually be spun into yarn. This is the first video in a series that takes a raw fleece from right-after-shearing all the way to finished garment. I'll be walking you through skirting, separating, washing, carding/combing, spinning, and finally knitting the finished garment. Imparting tips and tricks I've learned in my 24 years as a fiber artist.

    Thank you! I own baby doll south down sheep, and the staple can be much longer if they are just shorn once a year.
