As a Muslim Hijabi who lives in Lebanon, I can see myself in this video! I've never been to a metal concert, I was always afraid of being judged by people of my religion and other people. Well, not anymore, I am a practicing Muslim who believes in virtue, love, and peace! and I LOVE metal!! And yes! I'm one of those who are going to make this world a better place for all!
not easy to leave the judgement behind you. I hope you will be able to go o a concert one day. Love and peace to you and everybody there !
Lebanese people get all the concerts in the world, and you're afraid of people judging you? well guess what, wherever you go there are going to be people judging you, whatever religion they are, it's people like me who live in egypt that need metal concerts
I'm Lebanese too, I found it hard too being judged at first but I went to a few concerts and everything changed. Metalheads are the best
Rayane El Masri I'm not a Muslim, but I'm a Christian, who also likes metal music and fond of Iranian underground culture, if you want contact me +79038209071
May Allah be with you!
And yea, I'm an Israeli Jew...
I’m an american Jew and we need this solidarity more than ever. Love my brothers and sisters in metal in Islam and the middle east. May we finally have peace.
We hate Zionist and Israel government not Jews
I'm personally Christian, but Orphaned Land brings the best of Middle East. And I learned to respect everyone by listening to their music. Whether the person is believer or non believer, whether the person is LGBTQ or straight, whether the person is introvert or extrovert and whatever the skin color tree they might have, we're all human race. Thank you Orphaned Land. What religions couldn't do, metal does. It connects people on different level. 🤟
Religion , religare, to link.
I am not a believer of any god(s) or godesse(s), but I believe in that universal link between people, and music is that link in my opinion / belief. It's been there since the dawn of time , it pleases any human being, no matter where he lives.
Bring any song to any city / town / village / tribe on earth, you will find someone who like it ... but no one can rationnally explain why ?!
People just love / want music composed / played by other distant-or-not fellow human being who sometimes (often?) don't speak our native tongue, don't play with the same instruments and still love it and don't know why.
That is the link, that is the religion, that is the religare.
Right now, this magnificent video makes me cry a lot. Things could be so easy, but they aren't unfortunately. Let's hope that one day Metal will succeed in uniting people, I can see the potential here for sure. 🥰
I’m an atheist and I’ve always loved what Orphaned Land stands for.
same here. Religions are evil and wicked, but since they exist the only way towards peace and freedom is reforming them, Orphaned Land being a tiny actor of this reforming
Julia A. Batova I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think it’s necessarily fair to say religions are evil. Some people just need religion and it can be a force for good in their lives and for those around them. That said, there are plenty of people who use religion for their own selfish, disgusting goals. Religion can really only be as good or as evil as the person using it.
Malkav65 - Me too. I've been following them since Mabool and haven't looked back.
That's what we call hypocrisy.
What? Atheists can't stand for peace among people of different backgrounds? Because I do and that happens to be OL's primary message. Of course, I could always just ask Kobi, Uri or Chen (or even Yossi, even though he's not in the band anymore). *shrug*
My wish for Middle East these days is more metal, less wars. We are one.
As an Arab guy who had both Orphaned Land and Blind Guardian get me into metal at the tender age of 13, i salute you (no im not crying you are)
Jew here. Love how this song shows how similar we can really be 😊
Bro... Now I'm crying too
You couldn't possibly have 2 better bands as intro to metal....or life.

hansi and Orphaned Land together is just pure magic. :)
The comments section is just gold. Christians+Muslims+Jews+Non believers, all united by the passion for Metal music!
A wise man once said: Hansi could sing a phone book and I would buy it. I totally agree :D
The man has a magic to his voice.

Saw that comment in "The Day that the World Breaks Down" ahahahah
In today's madness of this world we need this kind of music like never before. Like a faint ray of light in a deepest darkness.
i'm a Palestinian and i just wanna say that i love this band that calls for peace
let's fight with music.. not guns..

I love that you wrote it in three language!
Where exactly? I'm in Jerusalem. I'm into trance personally. Another type of music that brings us all together! But this video makes me want to go to a metal gig now...
Agree with you, but when I called Myrath, which btw I love, to come to Israel and play with orphaned land...so, even the musicians are not willing to fight only with music.
Youre an arab mr... peace that.
I am a Moroccan Muslim and I am proud of it. I do not know why Hebrew music attracts me with its words and melodies. I hope the world will live a happy life without the division of the earth and religion so that everyone can live in their independent existence. I hope he makes a concert in Morocco
as now we have peace agreement, your hope of them to make concert in morroco can come true
Of course you're morocan lmao
Some hebrew music roots come from Ancient egypt, it has the same origin that some of the Arab and Persian music as well and very similar to Indian. Probably you heard about Maqamat.
It's because there's a lot of jewish influence in moroccan traditional music.. chaabi mel7oun

No matter how many times I hear this song, Hansi's *AND RISE!* gives me serious chills every damn time
I would be perfectly okay with Hansi guest-starring on every metal song.
Would love to hear him sing black metal
Glad to see you're still here and that you'll come back soon. I highly appreciate it, as the world is going crazy again. Peace on Israelis and Palestinians, and all others too.
Current events made me think about this music video. Never ending conflict, so sad.
Yep
Goosebumps when Hansi sings
Always... Hansi has the talent of turning everything he sings into something fucking epic.
+1 to both of ya! 🤘
His voice is as good as ever. He truly gets better with age.
Kobi does it very well too .

Really cool how this is all written, video and song. Funny how despite all their differences, the 2 protagonists ended up in the same spot, facing their "Kreator"... ;)
Wow, this metaphor gave me goosebumps!
Reading comments on Orphaned Land music videos gives me hope for all humanity. Go in peace, find thy faith, evolve thyself and *lose all hate.* So a heaven we may create.
Agreed my sibling in metal. Let us all unite in love and thrash together!

I'd say you're not too emotional but the right amount of emotional. And the song has a powerful message, if it speaks and resonates with someone, I think, it shows a good character.
This video clip Brought me to tears And I'm Brazilian and Christian. How amazing is heavy metal...

A beautiful song, amazingly talented musicians and an important message: a metalhead is a metalhead, under a hijab or a yarmulke.

was really hoping at the end the guy would just whisper to her "great concert last night right?"
you'll never know who is the man next to you
true story-i am a Juventus fan from Israel and i went with few of my friends to see a match, we had an Israeli flag so a few Moroccans came wanting harass us but when they found out we are Juventus fans they wanted to take a picture with us and Israeli and Morocco flags
it was a few years ago, we tried to stay in touch but didn't work out
Hahahahah .... I thought the same thing when I watched the video for the first time
Exactly. I love this video, and the overall message in it, however it is sad that the characters don't share any dialogue, not even a look! Why is there no communication? The video in that sense merely transmits a message of tolerance, but without any contact, sort of like the old discourse of apartheid in the US "Yeah, sure blacks are ok, but only if we don't mingle". The closer they get to union is being in the same place (concert hall). It would be much more revolutionary if the characters were, at the very least, aware of each other, complicit. And I'm not even suggesting they become friends or lovers (too utopian?)! I know the spectre of violence is too large, and even peaceful coexistence is an incredible achievement, but also for me it looks like the video producers were too timorous of political correctness issues and hurting certain sensibilities.
For me the message is right on the mark.
You never know who the person next to you is. You only see the outside character.
It happend to me many times. When ever I pick hitchhikers, at one point along the way I put on Metal. On ocassion, the hitchhiker will start to headbang, and the road becomes much more fun.
It's like seeing a man dressed in a buissines suit, not knowing he has tattoos under it.
Got the same feeling. The video is just all about "Metal makes us all brothers and sisters", and " Nothing wrong with being Metalheand and religious". Then at the end they act like two repressed people. "Hey I like Kreator too!" would have been nice.
I wish a second part with these two guys becoming friends 🤝
will be too "utopia" for both community
Yes. It's a good first step, but should not be the goal. The goal should be that not the metal aspect of their lives stays hidden, but that the religious part stays hidden. Belief and faith are a personal thing, something everyone has to investigate, argue, possibly find and practice by themselves.
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
― Richard Dawkins
I expected they meet at the concert and wed
these are tough times, but i appreciate who still is willing to build bridges and live in peace with each other!
I just hope this nightmare ends soon, i wish fear and mutual violence just stopped for a while. Culture and discovery should then be enough to create bonds and friendships between the two cultures, and finally bring peace to that orphaned land.
well one can only hope peace when the apartheid against the palestine will come to an end!
Filipa Santos Sousa what apartheid axactly?
i don't need to explain, do I, for real?
for real I have no idea what your'e talking about
We are all children of Yahweh, why can't we all live in peace?
Sometimes a song has special double significance. This one, talking about "lifting the veil of shade forever" and "giving sight" just happened to come out at the same time my husband, who was left blind after a stroke earlier this year, had his first (and very successful) eye surgery. It's a wonderful feeling going through the emotions together after the partial sight has been returned to him. Both of us can hardly wait for the 2nd eye surgery (January).
I know this is not the real point of the song, but still.. it will always have a special place in our hearts, for double reason - sight & unity! Thank you Orphaned Land & Hansi Kürsch for this masterpiece!! 🤘
It was a surprise to hear my favorite power metal singer Hansi Kürsch in this song... The first time I listen to Orphaned Land and I'm loving it...
5yrs later.. still a masterpiece!!!!
Absolutely blown away by this song and the video. Such a universal message of love for music, the language of the Universe that we all speak and understand.
I am Cristian and as a Cristian I cannot know about the persecution that you lived in your religion and in your culture.
But at the end there is a beautiful message in this song.
This message is needed more than ever. It's heartbreaking to see neighbors killing each other. We look different but bleed the same. We worship different books but the message is the same. We segregate into tribes on either side of the fence, but the land is the same. Praying that madness and rage we are all swept in passes soon, and no parent has to bury their child again.💔
This album needs more recognition what a astrong message for all humanity
I'm a very simple man. I see the name Hansi Kursch and I watch it. Just found a new band to annoy my neighbors with
Just like me... never heard from this band before but "Hansi" is like a "certificate" for quality and power

cheers man! respect and fun should be for everyone no matter which origin, religion etc
Meu Deus. Que coisa boa!!! Obrigada Sr. Deus pela minha audição perfeita!
Metal, the uniting force of everyone who bothers to listen for more than 30 seconds.
Ingenious and so relevant today.
I visited Jerusalem on the at the beginning of this month. I swear this video is coming from a real story. I saw how they're living together. Don't believe everything you see ın the breaking news or whatever. Jews, Muslims, Christians... All are living this way. An unforgetable journey for me. Peace is not so far away, it's possible. Like this video ❤️
I like the message. Though at the bus stop i would’ve liked to have seen these two start a conversation. They went to the same show, like the same bands. They should become friends. In my opinion religion separates, Metal unites.
Yes, like Satanists and anti-theists at metal concerts always welcome Christians with open arms.
atonewiththedust as long as they're not preaching, judging or harming others most metal heads welcome anyone.
I figured the point was that they didn't know they both were at the same concert.
@@AntonAdelson yeah, I thought that too. Both of them have to play a role in their everyday lifes and they're extremly carefull to not show anything out of this role. Only when they're alone - listening to metal or going to a metal concert - they feel free. Unfortunatelly, the society they're living in won't accept anything "out of the norms". Pretty sad, but that's reality for many people
Hansi Kürsch! Amazing!!!
Yes, and one of the best bands in the world, Blind Guardian!!!
All the love to Orphaned Land from Syria
I am from Iraq ,being muslim doesn’t prevent me from listening to music ,I can pray ,commit to my religion and still listen to music since the content of it it doesn’t oppose my religion’s commandments, alhamdullah still I am not judged here

LIKE ORPHEUS
Close my eyes, I cannot see
Sudden blindness upon me
This ray of light is so unknown
From womb of darkness I am born
Lift the veil of shade forever
Like a candle that's within me I receive the gift of sight
And rise!
This life is a storm that rages on
Fire, wind, the earth and sea are one
I sing before you all like Orpheus with torch in hand
The cave it still lies within
Like a never ending sin
Paint these walls with crimson light
The phoenix now is taking flight
Stare back to the abyss"
Hades who rules there shall grant thee salvation"
Like the snow that brings December
I am the spark that sets the flame of truth alight
And fight!
And This Life is the pain of being born
Man, child and woman all are one
I sing before you all…

My metal brothers and sisters come from different faiths, continents and cultures. I respect you, in metal we are one!
I m muslim respect all othe religions and listen Metal!
This song should be like an anthem to us metalheads allover the world
It is. It says that religion and politics intentionally divide humanity into societies, but that music, art and culture unite us humans into one humanity. Metal is just one ray, one path of culture, and though it is one that I feel at home in, it is not the only and not the most important one. In a way, by being an anthem to music, art and culture, this song is also an anthem for metal and us metalheads!
We need peace, real peace with our selves and with others. Greetings from 🇪🇬 Egypt
