Am I the only one who is perturbed by some of the panelists referring to Scalia as "nino" when they refer to others by more respectful titles or even by last names? Yes, I'm fully aware that nino counts as a diminutive slang of Antonin....but there is a reason it is described as "diminutive". It is also a bit demeaning and dismissive and patronizing. It would be like calling a Robert "bobby" or a Timothy "timmy" .....it has a shading of patronizing someone, diminishing someone, treating them like a child that cannot contribute wisdom to a challenging discussion.
@@actanonverba3041 He has said in print and on other televised events that there is no such preference for being insulted with nino. So you can drop the sarcastic stupidity.
I would like a link to whatever source you have that Scalia was perturbed by people calling him Nino. Certainly that’s what his friends and colleagues called him.
Nino versus Ira is an entertaining debate matchup to listen to- it almost reminds me of Buckley debating Ira. Good stuff 😁
It's depressing that this conversation from 30 years ago is still not resolved today and is in fact worse than ever before.
