You probably heard Aaron's voice from the Cotton commercials "The Fabric of Our Lives" :) This is one of the most beautiful duets ever. You should definitely check out their live version!! They have such chemistry together! (and even dated from 1989-1992, and remained good friends after breaking up).

I always loved this song. And they were adorable together when they sang this live on an award show in 1990. He had a big hit with "Tell It Like It Is". One of my favorite Christmas songs is his "Louisiana Christmas Day". Not many Christmas songs make you wanna get up and dance like this song. It just sounds like New Orleans, where some of his relatives still play music in clubs on Frenchmen Street.
Just the this past week I was thinking of my fav duets from the era. This was pretty much my top one. So beautiful. Another is Somewhere Out There with James Ingram. Man that man had a beautiful voice.
Aaron Neville's version of Ave Maria is the best ever recorded.
I was looking to see if someone mentioned that. I'm 53 and a hard core metal head but Ave Maria has a place in my heart because my grandmother. Pavarotti does an amazing version as well. But something about his voice doing it is amazing.
This is a great song , with great vocals and Guitar. Again makes me realise their were a lot of great duets in the 80's and this is right up there-Colin Ward

This song was huge that year, and their live performance at the Grammy's (?) is so lovely. They partnered for four songs, but were friends and music partners, not romantic partners. Linda had a hit with Smoky Robinson's Tracks of My Tears, and they appeared together at Motown 25 I think.

You would love The Neville Brothers (Aaron's band with his brothers). They're amazing. And their album Yellow Moon is one of the best albums of all time. Not a bad song on it + a couple of great Sam Cooke & Bob Dylan covers. BTW- I've stood next to Aaron Neville & he really is (or was) JACKED. Like his biceps were as big as my thighs!

Oh gosh how it takes me back to the smooch end of night dance of the 80's..love his voice too..he did a few songs with Linda but also did a very successful duet with Trisha Yearwood ..a cover of Patsy Clines I fall to pieces which they actually won a grammy for..in fact l think he was the only African American to have a country music grammy..maybe that has changed now but that was a while ago so you could delve into that maybe..another song l really want you to review is..Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls..its an epic song..you probably have heard it as its from a Nicholas Cage movie..as someone who lived through the 80's and boy did l have a great time..THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE..to watch you reviewing 80's music has been wonderful..taking me back to a very very happy time in my life..l am on my own now and find this time of year hard..but every monday Wednesday and Friday you have taken me back to those wonderful yrs...and l thank you for that. !!
