Paul, I met you at World's Gym in Framingham on Rt. 9 just before you got sick. You were nice enough to talk hockey with me for a few minutes. I asked the late Mike Shay for your address so I could write a get well card to you. You were kind enough to write back. That meant a lot.

What a legend! I went to CM in the 90s and Hanson told us a ton of stories about knuckles. Stewie reffed my men’s league game at Bridgewater 10 yrs ago and was nice enough to take a few pics w the boys after. My wife blew up the pic I took with him for my Bday. Such a great guy I couldn’t believe he was reffing a men’s league game on a Tuesday night. Thanks for the great interview Chris!

my dad always loved when paul stewart was working a game. he always pointed out that stewart let em’ play and if they wanted to fight, let em’ go. he, like other good refs from that time would blow whistle at start of fight to tell the linesmen and everyone else to back off. 80s-90’s you knew every ref, and his crew. those linemen were as tough as some players with them getting in there break up 3+fights night, while ref maybe had notepad out..every night, every city. hell yeah..love it

Fun interview 🤯 n Chris always does a good job because he asks a question and then let's the guy answer it, doesn't interrupt or talk over him like a lot of other podcasters do. Kudos for that Chris. 👍

This is great. Every hockey fan loved to see Stewart in the stripes before a game: no petty bs, always let them play.

I played hockey for Pauls dad, Bill Stewart, at English High late 60's. He was a wonderful man, respected and liked as any Boston Public School official in the city. He became an institution.
When we were in high school, Paul would do anything to get ice time, including just showing up fully dressed asking to play, when he wasn't any either team. Couldnt say no! Not a bad career.
