Good evening from Australia guys! We'll go over our 3 reasons for choosing the Volvo S60 over comparable German brands but please feel free to share with us your 3 reasons for choosing this over a BMW, Mercedes, or Audi...
I do not see why I should have to get used to a slow infotainment system. Manufacturers should make them faster. The iPad had this figured out 10 years ago. There is no excuse for this nonsense anymore
Sorry guys. Unless you've tried it, you don't know. I own a 2019 s60 t8 and the sensus screen is fast and responsive. I had a 2017 s90 before this one and that was slower. Volvo has improved the system a lot. I think Sensus infotainment is underrated and overlooked. Too bad.
I own the 2019 R Design and the Screen works perfectly! My 18yr old daughter and I were able to figure it out quickly and it's very easy to use. LOVE this car
@@dirkcurritzki9585 GM just signed a deal with Google to develop all their infotainment going forward. I'm surprised it took this long, but I'm sure it will be class leading once launched. The other manufacturers just dont have the budget to compete with Google in tech

Julien Boisvert Sounds like typical salesman BS. I love Volvo seats but when I asked why no power lumbar I got a similar BS answer. I’ve owned three Volvo’s and like the cars.
This is just SUCH a pretty car. I'm waiting for the lease prices to come down a bit and then i'm absolutely going to be getting me some Swedish Luxury Compact Sports Sedan
This has been the very best if the videos of seen from you in the longest time... Not too long, not filled with ads, and most importantly - you didn't go from 0-100mph in terms of how you spoke in the video. Perfect video!! 👍
I have NO doubt about that! I have a 2013 G37X which I adore, but if I was in the market for a new sports sedan, this would be the car for me! I've given up on BMW at this point. They haven't had a category-killing 3-Series since the E46 generation.
Exactly. He recently started adding that at the end of his videos. I simply don’t watch it, Sofyan takes too long whereas Doug speeds through his using a voiceover, and it’s just cringy watching someone use something that’s original to another reviewer. I still like the rest of Sofyan’s reviewing style though.
@@ItsMeCJ what exactly is original to another reviewer? He created that rating system by himself from the redline name there's nothing unoriginal about it
I worked at my local volvo, well it was in the family chain of dealerships, and fell in love,I did dealer swaps,in and out of state, even 5hrs away each way,the high performance models are mindblowing, total "sleeper",very very comfortable, kickin stero system, awesome on gas,if I had the right amount of money,I'd buy the S60 R-model polestar,in grey, badass fast car
The Aisin transmission is consistently the biggest gripe reviewers have with this car, it being slow to change gears in response to the paddles. No mention of the factory-backed Polestar Performance tuning available for T5 and T6 cars (bumps the T6 to 325 HP/330 TQ)? Or the Dynamic Chassis package?
I think this car deserves a v6 engine with turbo and nothing more. Would like to know the cost of servicing after 50-60k miles. Hope it won't become an endless money pit regarding repairs with those super charger, turbos, lots of sensors, electronics, etc.
Your videos and presentations are getting better and better. This is the best looking Volvo ever...with maybe the exception of that Italian designed one in the 80s.
I have old s60 from 2008, but it still runs like new and has fantastic equipment like webasto and bunch other features which rarely can be found in new premium class cars. I had all germans c segment cars and volvo is far the best. Building quality and 5cil turbo engine with aisin AT is the best VfM you can get.
I have this car and I love it. One complaint is that it doesn't get the mpg that Volvo says it should. I get an average of 18 with start stop. Without it, it drops to 14. I drive in eco mode quite conservatively.
Not sure why some people are complaining about that, maybe when they review the car, they drive aggressively? We just got ours about three weeks ago, so it doesn't have many miles on it. On a recent drive into New Mexico from El Paso, with some city driving but mostly highway driving, I got better than the 32 mpg the window sticker shows I'm supposed to get. I got over 33mpg, which I verified by fueling up after the trip. We have a 2019 T6 Inscription. I was in Comfort mode.
I just bought a new 2019 with 500 miles as a dealer car. I didn't get the R, just the T6 AWD Momentum. Tons of tech, driver assist and great mobile app. The UI took a day to master and the I don't have the B&W sound system. The digital instrument gauge/screen is plenty good. The seats and drive are miles better than the Mercedes C300. I had a C300 that was great, the S60 is much better. I was really surprised and impressed. To be honest, I'm not a speed guy, but I like to press it a bit and this is more than enough. The back seat is also much better than others in the class. I find the car much bigger than my C300 or A4. The result 9f the size, weight and wheelbase is a masterfully and smooth ride. This drives and handles like the E300 with much less roll. The customization of rlfratutes and driving functions are exceptional. I didn't expect to get a Volvo but thebblanacr of value, feature rich option packages and the distinguished look of this care set it apart from all others. Lots of compliments on the Pebblestone Gray color with 19" rims.
Guys..... dump the RPM score. It’s too close to “The Doug Score” and his reviews suck. Your reviews are top shelf already and we can already take away those key points from your reviews.... don’t cheapen the review. I can tell by Sofyan’s face when doing the road test if it’s impressive or not. Haha
I just don't see why this had to be turbo and super chargered. Seems way to complicated and many fail points. This is probably a lease only kinda car to me! With that said, it does look great!
@Saph Adams And then you lose the power. Honestly, they could easily get the power they have with just a single turbo while reducing both weight and complexity and without giving up any throttle response. Case-in-point, the VWAG EA888 as seen in the Golf R and S3.
I drove a T6 Inscription with 19” wheels. Great looks but the ride quality wasn’t good. I found it too harsh, especially on side roads. The C300, A4, and 330i are much more comfortable. Probably a combination of the suspension and the 19” tires but I wasn’t impressed. Plus, everything is controlled by the screen, including the heating and cooling seat features (Inscription).
Volvo suspensions are known to be typically stiffer than its competitors. I find it weird as Volvo aims more for luxury than sport, but the last generation S60 suffered from a harsh suspension as well.
Even though they’re not in the same category I kept comparing this beautiful car to the accord 2.0 touring trim and boy are they close Except for the price

@Mario S. I have 2 Volvos ones 10 years old and runs just fine and the other is 4 years old and works great too. idk where this perceived unreliability of Volvos comes from u do realize the highest mileage car in the world is a Volvo?
Mario S. My XC60 is a 2010 and like I said drives just fine and was built in Torslanda says so in the doorjam as was my 2016 XC90 they’ve had no issues other then regular maintenance my 60 has 153k miles and my 90 has 83k miles and in my opinion my Volvo’s are much nicer and better made then the ones built under fords stewardship. I’m quite glad Geely owns Volvo as they actually allow Volvo to function independently unlike ford and build quite remarkable vehicles like my 90 which one numerous awards when it came out I don’t think that’s “junky”
Mario S. You not getting the point most Volvo’s aren’t built in China most are built In Sweden or even the USA. The only new Volvo being built in Chinese factories is the S90 LWB because of the demand of that type of vehicle there and there’s no evidence of there being any significant change in build quality between models, there just isn’t. Theres a difference between thinking and feeling and factual evidence. And also Geely only provides financial backing for Volvo they don’t dictate or engineer any part of Volvo’s vehicles it’s all done by Volvo in Sweden your misinformed.
Mario S. 😂😂 You can’t just say that, theres no actual proof or evidence all your saying is “that guy said so” buddy that can’t be how you get all your information do your own research and look into other sources. I told you where Volvo’s are actually built and how Geelys relationship with Volvo actually works yet you have nothing to say other then that? ok 👌🏾
Wish they still put there SI6 engine, I’d still prefer the previous v60 polestar 3.0t, it is my realistic dream car, I actually like the way it looks compared to the new v60
Great review Sofyan, I own this very car in denim blue but with the polestar optimization that totals 330 hp & 325 lb/ft torque, it is an amazing machine, i thought the r design doesn’t come with adaptive suspension or maybe not in the us of a at least, mine has the fixed sport chassis & it is plenty harsh but handles fantastically, you mentioned it could use more sport tuning to the suspension but I think it would hit the 330i territory of ride if it’s any tighter, but overall it is a sweet sweet ride, thx again man
Bryce yes the 2020 R design has the stitched dash & rear ac controls, I also thought they made the sport chassis standard on all 2020 R design, can you clarify that, I’m also enjoying every moment driving my car & if I had to do it again I would still pick it over all rivals
I would content Volvo consciously made it so Pilot Assist would not change lanes for you, we've seen the examples of people supposedly sleeping while in their Tesla, and Volvo probably does not want that happening in their cars.
Why don’t reviews know the steering column is manual because of the safety features… it breaks down in a front end crash in such a way which better protects the legs and the leg well fills with air bags. Specifically designed for safety. I’ll take it.
Turbocharged and supercharged that is interesting havent seen an engine with both of those options under the hood but it is a great car love the styling and looks
Great review, very thorough! However you said that engine is transversely mounted, like Volvo's have always been! I'd remind you that Volvo's have famously been longitudinally mounted with rear wheel drive during the pre-Ford glory days -240 owner.
DO NOT BUY A VOLVO! I am the current owner of a 2019 S60 T6 Inscription and the vehicle has been a complete nightmare. It is plagued with quality issues and has been in the shop more than all my previous cars were combined, I am in my late 30’s. Worse of all, dealing with the Volvo dealership network and Volvo USA has been even a worse experience. Endless circle of taking the vehicle to the shop to have quality issues and defects documented then calling Volvo USA for resolution but receiving no courtesy or care. I bought a $60k piece of crap that I do not even trust to drive more than 30 miles from my house. Asked them to buy it back or forgive my loan, would not. Asked them to give me a replacement vehicle, would not. Even though I have a service record the thickness of a dictionary on a car with 33k miles on it. They do not care about their customers unless they are selling you the car, after that you are on your own!
Great looking car inside and out! Great power from a small block, but I wonder about long term issues given a turbo and super charger! Also, please nix the "Doug" score at the end of the video, no need to copy him and extend the video; you already give a very in depth review which is what I use to decide whether or not to get the car. Doug's "reviews" focus on quirks and features and aren't very practical if you're looking to buy a car.
So in hindsight, I like how you are reviewing a what is effectively a Euro-spec S60 with the leather-stitched dashboard that was not available on S60s you could actually buy in the US for 2019 outside of the Launch Edition and with the Sports Chassis that they last-minute removed as a standard feature on US cars but failed to update the order forms to allow customers to spec until MY2020. Volvo has mismanaged the bejeezus out of this car. They have no idea what to do with it; they want to market themselves as safe and practical, but they have this inconvenient car in their line-up that they pitched as quick, sporty, and fun that is anathema to their current vision. How do you market a sports sedan at the same time you announce all your cars are going to be speed-limited well below the industry standard? When you don't include the sports suspension in the standard set-up for the sporty trim? When your stock tuning is horribly unresponsive and you have to order a $1250 factory tune to make it snappy? When you remove the shift paddles (MY21)? It feels like they just can't wait to get rid of this car in their line-up.
It must be cheaper to manufacturer turbo/superchargers coupled with an i4 vs a simple V6? I would think the added complexity would add to the manufacturing cost but I guess not.
Volvo v60 pros- safety, interior design and really comfy seats Volvo v60 cons-understeer and some torque steering, Commodore computer processing speed for the touch screen, turbo lag and expensive high compression engine repairs after 40-50 k miles.
3900 pounds?! Why is this car so heavy? I could see if it was the T8 with battery weight, but for a standard powertrian, that's heavy. Great review, Sofyan.
1. Design 2.Comfort 3. I can get a wagon version, which is possibly even better looking. The one thing Volvo has done to disappoint me is not offer their beautiful "maroon brown" leather with the subtle "denim blue" paint on the S60 or V60. (They do on the 90.) Seems to me the blue and brown would be a popular choice. They also don't pair the blue with the amber (golden tan) leather. Seems dumb and arbitrary. With the denim blue you can have charcoal or blonde only. I'd like to be spoiled with the full range of choices!
Wow that looks really nice Volvo! One thing that I noticed… The infotainment screen quality is not great… Maybe it’s just me watching it on my iPhone? But my 2018 accord touring looks like it has better quality .... but maybe not? It also has wireless charger 😝
Calisto Riviera bought a German with 60k miles just out of warrantee for 1/3 of it’s mrsp price. So far zero problems and if something breaks. Still saved 40k off it’s purchase price. Just do standard service and keep rolling.
I bought a 2015 A6 TDI. Normally out of warranty, but it has an extended one due to the diesel gate issue. Already had 2 check engine lights in 3 months... Sensor issues I believe, but thankfully covered under the warranty. The car is amazing to drive and got it for a great price, but it is always a risk since there is so much going on.

@@raafatshehata4795 It's not standard for 2020, you still have to option it.
What's your Long term view? I'm trying to get one 19 in 23 hence asking.
Honestly, the white leather or amber yellow interior looks the best for this vehicle. Save the boring black for Audi
Turbocharged and supercharged that is interesting havent seen an engine with both of those options under the hood but it is a great car love the styling and looks
Wait for the Pole if you want something more stiff...that is really funny...lol
Volvo literally had the glo up of the year, I would never look once at an s60 before. Now I can’t stop staring at it and wanting one.
"Nice expensive smell."
I am not familiar at all with that smell, would like to experience it someday.
Great review, very thorough! However you said that engine is transversely mounted, like Volvo's have always been! I'd remind you that Volvo's have famously been longitudinally mounted with rear wheel drive during the pre-Ford glory days -240 owner.
Amazing and enthusiastic review brother!! Blown away by your video quality!!
60fps looks great. It's the way to go.
"Swedish Flair". I don't know why this cracks me up.
I know its its older, and yes it has first gen CUE, but i love my 13 ATS 4 3.6. This is the chassis (and steering) the rest need to compete with.
This might be the only car I think looks even better than my 2019 Peugeot 508.
I can't get kver of how good looking the car is. Love the headlights, and the interior looks ten times better than the German cars.
I think your car reviews are the best produced
That car is 🔥, need to win the lottery here we gooo!
Nice alternative to the Germans. But I'll probably take G70 3.3 AWD with sport pkg and still come in under 55k
Same here easily, G70 is easily the best car in the class for price and value
Both are lookers, but I'd take the G70 3.3 all day versus a top trim Volvo T6 for value and sound.
It feels like they just can't wait to get rid of this car in their line-up.
not gonna lie, this car is compelling...don't know why, but it has 'it'. Mix of old and new, and different from everything else in the segment
This is a superb car to see on the road....👍
Oh shit he got his producer back.. no more of that looks-like-my-lil-brother-shot-this type of videos.. good job bro
Nice review sofyan, the styling is incredible
Is it me or is this demo beat tf up? I Love this car so much!!!!!!! 💯
It must be cheaper to manufacturer turbo/superchargers coupled with an i4 vs a simple V6? I would think the added complexity would add to the manufacturing cost but I guess not.
Love ❤️ love this car get one ☝️ 2019. Volvo S60
Volvo v60 pros- safety, interior design and really comfy seats
Volvo v60 cons-understeer and some torque steering, Commodore computer processing speed for the touch screen, turbo lag and expensive high compression engine repairs after 40-50 k miles.
My Asin transmission 170k miles original factory fluid. So this thing have the same transmission as the Camry
Drives great and looks nicely understated, but I’d be terrified to own one out of warranty. So I guess it really is like a german car lol.
Calisto Riviera bought a German with 60k miles just out of warrantee for 1/3 of it’s mrsp price. So far zero problems and if something breaks. Still saved 40k off it’s purchase price. Just do standard service and keep rolling.
Cross Ocean which year and model if you don’t mind my asking?
The current C&D XC60 T6 long-term tester has been flawless for the past 20,000 miles. Let's see how it goes but right now looking very promising.
Calisto Riviera 2013 X3
No on the 6 cylinder. I keep saying they should bring back their 5 cylinder and pair it up with their hybrid system!
At that price, the glove compartment should have been slow hydraulic-like opening, not the open drop regular hing.C'mon.
Nice volvo s60 and well done review.
Volvo sedans should then be leased and kept under warranty .. i
Volvos also been revamping their semi trucks with heavy influence from the s60, the VNL 860
I’m just here to see how solid the door sounds.
