How to Replace Skidoo Rollers QRS Clutch
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Our Skidoo Summit had no low end power. Found the clutch was stuck open which is a result of a broken clutch roller. This is a video of my first time replacing the rollers myself using Mountain Sledder Garage's video using Grip N Rip P-Drive toolkit. Hope this helps someone out there.

Great video. Doing this tomorrow
Thank you!
Nice tip on that bearing retainer access
Thank you!
To make it easier, replace the 4 torx bolts on back sheeve with 4 grade 8 Hex head bolts. Then you never have to pull jackshaft, you can just remove clutch from shaft everytime.
Great idea! I just did that last night. Using a gear wrench I was able to tighten them up quick much quicker. I used a decent amount of blue Loctite. Going to keep the gear wrench with me when I ride and periodically check to make sure it is tight the first couple rides when I eat lunch. Thx for sharing.
Always always always use an impact to loosen those torx. Using a ratchet like u did is how you strip them. The shock from the impact breaks them free with no damage.
Thank you for the advice!
had 2 of these jobs last week. 1 machine only had 800 kms on it and when we changed the rollers i roller already had a crack in it.
Ya. They don't last long especially if you use reverse. Thankfully replacements work pretty good.
On my 2018 renegade XP the secondary slides right off the jackshaft....
I wish
With mine I had to pull the jackshaft
Tool kit link please. I need that helix tool

My 4 bolts that hold the back plate to the helix broke off, is this common? I have 2020 summit expert
Ouch! I having experienced it first hand however I have heard of it happening. Did you use some heat?
@Graham Family Adventures I just got my sled( my buddy has sled deck and we put our 3 sleds on it) and about to dive into it, I saw your video, very informative, and been diesel mechanic I'll have it out in no time thanks to your tips
@@fusomann Nice!!!! I bet you'll figure it out in no time. You're welcome.
@Graham Family Adventures one of the helix legs broke off, rollers are good, gona replace helix, my buddy hooked me up with free one
@@fusomann Oh wow. Haven't heard of that one before. Glad you got hooked up.
My 2013 SkiDoo secondary does NOT have through holes to punch the roll pin through, so now what? It looks like my only option is to somehow drill holes so the roll pin can be pushed through.
Ah man. Looks like that is what you do. Here is a video that may help. ua-cam.com/video/C5Zx7WyFix4/v-deo.html
Let me know how you make out.
@@grahamfamilyadventure Thank you! Yes this is what we had to do. Fortunately, I have some friends who work at a machine shop. They put it on a bridgeport, lined up the holes to drill through, and used a carbide tipped bit. Both sides drilled out without issue! Saved me lots of time.
Remove the air box next time. It will be way easier to remove the bearing retainer clip.
Thanks for the tip
It is so lame doo still has a solid mount secondary . Almost makes you think it is engendered that way to make guys say f it and just dump it off at the dealer for rollers or trips from flat lands to elevation. Then you bend a a arm and become painfully aware that that is exactly how the engineers design the sled . Then you get a misfire like you have a bad plug so you start attempting to change plugs in the trailer so the day us not ruined but yeah it is because again designed so owners say screw it I am not doing it let the dealer do and and I don't care if they rape me yet again .
