The interviewer did a great job. The whole thing came off as a natural conversation between two friends.

Dont be so soft
@@gunsharck Ok. Ooh! That’s a scary shark!
I love how Pierce's accent went MORE Irish when he realised where the interviewer was from.
I do the same damned thing when I speak to old friends. I have a neutral accent, but once I hear a Scottish accent, I uncontrollably turn back to my original accent.
It's something in the blood.
That's awesome
What do you mean by a neutral accent out of curiosity? English?
@@benmartin6644 as in, not connectible to any region in the UK.
Basic pronunciation with no accent, not even Queen's or King's English.
@@TheRealRodent I'd be interested to hear you talk haha, I know a lot of Americans claim they have no accent but I'd argue there's no such thing as a truly neutral accent
I have a video rant about the panic buying people did at the start of covid on my channel :D
That look when he echoes the statement "the first superhero from Navan": you can see his heart is so full of memories and emotion.
Can anything good come out of Navan?
@@williamfinch9858 well aside from pierce and tommy tiernan, no
I really enjoy the moment when Pierce asks Thomas where he's from, because there's a bit of that celebrity reserve where he's preparing to act surprised by something he thinks will underwhelm him. It's not arrogance or disinterest; he's just long in a world where people present the mundane as fascinating, and it's part of his job to play along. So when he hears "Navan" he is truly thunderstruck, and all of that celebrity armor falls away. A person professionally unsurprised is taken aback in the most delighted way possible.
this is beautifully written
i agree, beautifully written.
You really do suddenly see years flash in his eyes of memories.
Exactly
Wow I hope you are a professional writer.
I absolutely love the way he lit up here, this was wholesome. It just shows, that no matter how long he's been mingling with the Hollywood elite, he's still that humble and kind man from Navan. You can't hide that, this revealed the true him, and what a truly wonderful person he is.
I don’t know why it’s a shithole 😂 I live here
Truthfully, Pierce Brosnan has never been anything other than his authentic (true) self. Ever. This interview was quite lovely with the surprise and all, yes, but he's always shown his pride AND his humility about who he is and where he's from. He's a good Irish lad from Navan, and always will be (smile).
How he said “i am the first super hero from navan” brought a tear to my eye. The sheer joy of being able to represent his home town and that someone from his hometown acknowledged what a moment it was.
Yeah, James Bond.
Gotta love all the spambot shite here!
@@fasdsyth idk what that means
What?@@honestyfirst3216
Pierce's reaction to the interviewer being from his home town is truly wholesome. You can tell just by the way his face lit up with joy and pride. He's a lovely man.
I love that he felt comfortable enough to slip into his native accent
Notice the strong eye contact at the end while shaking hands. He obviously really enjoyed the connection.
Pierce was delighted he's a very proud irish man from navan he never forgot where he came from always talks about it even with all the fame he's a good guy down to earth and a great interview
The look on his face and the sound of his voice when Pierce says "very well" has made me watch it on repeat. The sincere love/joy/surprise is the reason we need more Pierce Brosnan.
Pierce Is pure class, and the greatest Bond to ever live, don't bother debating me about it.
2nd best Bond, after Sir Roger.....Nobody Did It Better
May I bother agreeing with you? Because I really do.
@@oddballssherman3785 roger? No way, connery is the best, dc is a grest bond to, roger is only above lanzaby or whatever his name was
You'll hear no argument from me, friend!
My favourite of the old and Daniel is the first of the new so for me, both at the top, Daniel may or may not be 2nd of the new if and when we get another.
"How are ya keepin"
"Very well"
The way his eyes just lit up like it was Christmas! It was beautiful!
He needs his own spin-off. I honestly think he was touched the whole interview from hearing that. So amazing
What a great guy Brosnan is. So modest and genuine.
Before the pandemic he was a semi-regular customer at my cafe in Agoura Hills, CA. He was always kind and appreciative to everyone he met.
The secret is out. You say Navan and Pierce suddenly has an Irish accent! He's a great guy. Lovely to see him react with genuine emotion.
He is the bond of us 90s kids. Always will be my favorite James Bond
And those of us who grew up in the 80s remember him as Remington Steele. 😉
And Stewart Dunmeyer.
"There's a grá (love) for you in Ireland". That is so true. Pierce is a great Irish man. He didn't have it easy as a child either. He's a true gent.
“A wise man knows how to find a good chair”. Well said Pierce. Thanks for being the 007 of my childhood!
The man just oozes class and humility.
Amazing person
A class act. Took the rather brutal initial comparisons between him and Daniel Craig's take in stride, even though they were not of his doing (who could have predicted how 9/11 or the influence of Bourne would change Bond). Suffered the early deaths of his wife from ovarian cancer in 1990 and his daughter from the same disease in 2013. Still a gentleman.
And still a handsome fellow.
Pierce Brosnan - My Bond that introduced me to Bond, arguably the best Bond since the late great Sir Sean Connery, with all due respect to the late Sir Roger Moore and Daniel Craig
He could do Bond one more time to close the arc. #oldmanbond
He was the best. His first two were the most bond and the culmination of all the previous
@@keepingitdownwiththepashas DoubleOldSeven. Now that is something I would watch!
Back when I was still somewhat interested in the franchise, my favorite 007 were Pierce, Timothy and Daniel. The classics didn't really impress me since both Connery and Moore played them as if extensions of themselves, which I don't personally care for.
Guess Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby aren’t worth mentioning
I still maintain that Brosnan was the best Bond after Connery... and frankly, I think, a somewhat nicer person than Connery. It is fitting that he should age so gracefully, with such magnanimity of spirit. I've never met anyone who knew, knows or have worked with him personally who had a bad word to say about him. But that's just my opinion.
Good man pierce he never forgot where he came, im from navan aswell. He mentions navan every once and a while in interviews.
Beautiful how much respect he has for home & his people. That was great.
My god that was so wholesome. He’s such a good guy🧡
He deserves this roll at this point in his career. It's just fitting
This is the beauty and magic of Ireland. Only who lived there will now. Once it gets into your heart it stays there in a special place forever! #loveirelandforever
Pierce Brosnan, Katie Taylor, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Paul McGrath. Our 5 national treasures.
I hope they shared a pint and talked about home. Truly heartwarming energy from both.
Totally love Pierce. He's such a cool guy and super nice
Pierce is such a gentleman,Genuine and Old school
When you move from a small town to a big city, meeting someone from your town is so rare and it always makes you feel at home, just for a moment.
There's something about meeting someone who grew up where you did, there's a definite bond and similarity immediately.
I went to Ireland as a tourist, but felt more at home in Navan than anywhere else I've ever been to. It is small and picture perfect town. The people there were amazing and the food was as well.
Pierce always said he holds his hometown dear, especially going to England when they slated him for being Irish...dont let the accent fool you....he's a proud Irishman..........
best Wishes Pierce
love this man to death. hands down the best bond.
Beautiful reaction from Pierce when he mentions Navan
This is no longer a interview, this is small talk between two locals on the opposite side of the world !
I have always loved Pierce Brosan. My husband and I watched Remington Steele faithfully and I remember telling my husband "He would be a great James Bond" Imagine my delight when years later he became Bond.
I've enjoyed everything Pierce has done. Anyone else remember him as Remington Steele? Good times....
As someone who grew up in the 90s, he will always be James Bond to me!
I absolutely love Pierce Brosnan! He's such a classy and gracious man. I'm old enough to remember him on "Remmington Steele" and I've been a fan ever since!
Sir Brosnan is one of the worlds greatest actors . I have friends from Ballymena Ireland .
One of the most wholesome men in Hollywood right here, ladies and gents. There's a big Irish history in my part of Canada, our accents are even similar to what they sound like here lol
I’m going to guess you are from Newfoundland sir
@@fureyhiggins3289 Cape Breton, Nova Scotia! Moreso Scottish than Irish I suppose, but in reality it's a pretty 50/50 mix - in Cape Breton, the accent is almost EXACTLY the same as Newfoundland
I mean... how can you NOT love Pierce Brosnan? My God... He´s not just a great actor but also a great human being. God bless this man.
He has an old style actor's class. I was very happy to see him finally play Bond opposite the new M in Goldeneye in 1995. At that time I was playing opposite a lady boss named M, myself.
i chose a different life and have travelled my 59 years on this earth non stop... I couldnt even guess how many cities and countries its been but I always revisit my home and places that became home. Im not uber wealthy but for old time sake Ill make a detour and visit a place. I find it odd with Pierce Brosnans money that one day he doesnt hop on a plane and go visit Navan. His face completely changed when he heard that name. Its so obvious its a special place for him. I hope he gets back there. The town would love it but he would love it more.
I miss Pierce so much !! I feel strongly that he either should have been in The living Daylights or be given the chance to do a 5th Bond movie. As well as be paid $20 million and be given a new Aston Martin :)
The man always have beautiful manners and presence through and through.
0:20 a truly happy man, wow, nice
What a lovely clip!
❤️
Very touching to see the real Pierce Brosnan emerging with chilhood memories.
The way he says "I am the first super hero from Navan." Sounds a little bit like Mrs Doubtfire. Touching moment.
Pierce is the epitome of class
Pierce is easily one of my favorite actors
Pierce has aged like the finest wine
You could just feel the way he said "Navan" with a choke in his voice
Only this wonderful man could've played an Irish Bond. Most people are embarrassed when met with the hometown so this is just a great video.
All the old bonds have Irish nanes: Moore, Connery, Dalton. 😂
that "very well" went down very well indeed
"A wise man knows where to find a good chair."
Gorgeous, the first time I have heard Pierce Brosnan with his beautiful Irish accent.
You can tell how sincere Pierce is by the absence of blinking when talking to him, like he's such a loving, sincere fellow that he needs to take him in
Pierce was my James Bond and still is!
What a nice men. Just general chit chat who both spoke the same. Really enjoyed it.
Charming interview. ❤️🇮🇪
It's funny how his Irish accent dialed up when he started thinking of home.
Nothing but respect for Pierce.
I love Pierce Brosnan, such a gentleman ❤
Pierce Brosnan is such an underrated actor 👏
Underrated? He literally played James Bond…..
Dude played James Bond in the big screen and in video games... (Golden Eye N64) The stylish-side of the action flicks of the 90s belonged to him.
Such a wholesome moment!
I reckon he still has a Bond movie in him
I feel this video. That feeling when you can just loosen up and go back to your full native accent... bliss. Like taking off a tight, itchy suit.
0:01 - 0:25 -- What a genuine and joyful reaction.
He really loves his home the way he described it
Loved wen his eyes lit up and a big smile wen he found out an Irish man was interview him. Than he 2as just relaxed he loved his country of Irelandx.
How're you keepin' - *Very well* and that smile. I'm melting, that was such a easy, honest quick bit between the two.
He sounded so Irish in the beginning. Well, not that I'm an expert at that or anything. But he sounded much different when he started talking with the lad, and as the interview went on the accent went back to what we usually expect from him.
Aww this is so sweet! Pierce is still dashingly handsome too.
I've always found him to be a gentleman. His character in Seraphim Falls is the most underrated anti-hero ever. 💙
Awe man what a warm and fuzzy moment!!
Awww this was absolutely delightful 😢❤
I don't believe i've ever heard him without a British accent.... always thought he was. Learn something new every day.
Oh that's heartwarming hearing Pierces Irish accent come back.
I love Pierce's soft Irish accent. In fact I love Irish fella's full stop!
and then the accent came out and we all seen the man who he really is. just lovely.
Amazing man. Love you Pierce!! 🥰😍
The way he responds to "how are you keeping" "wery well" He just glows!
I'm from Cologne, Germany, and I went to see TOMORROW NEVER DIES on holidays in Dublin. The film started, when the little boy who sat beside me, touched my arm, pointed at the screen and said, beaming with pride: "He's from Navan - and I'm from Navan." It would have killed him, if he wouldn't have said it.
He comes across as a lovely, genuine man
Such an amazing man of good character
I'm gonna go see this fellow in this movie because having not seen much of him over the years...he is a delightful person.
Oh Men, Pierce is such a nice guy, i love him!
God I can watch that first minute a 100 times.
WHAT a feeling!!! When a desi in California assumes I'm from India and we both come to find we're from Bangladesh, there is NO feeling like it!!!! Like you've taken a long flight home, spent a whole summer together, rode the same hours-long noka routes, that lasted a moment.
Pierce seems like such a good man! I've never heard a bad word said about him 🥰
All my life I heard Pierce on Perfect English accent and here he broke character absolutely beautiful
In my head canon a retired 007 is just thrilled to be reminded of home.❤
