Hey there. I realize you are commenting on Inspirationtuts video but I'm the developer so I figured I'd respond lol. Spyderfy is specifically for bugs/birds/insects and basic boid systems but we are also working on an add-on for specifically creating basic crowd simulation. We will be releasing soon!
OMG STOP! Most of the items I checked out in the Blendermarket and I want just about all--no thanks on the spider spawner. This free software (Blender) is gonna cost me a fortune!
just curious as to the current opinions on the flip fluids add-on VS blenders. ive seen a LOT of people still using the add on, maybe just more deep options? better performance?
Flip Fluids still has some advantages over Mantaflow. Some of them are: - a little bit better simulation times depending on the scene - much more stable and predictable results - ease of use is still relatively better - less bugs - more functionality (like additional dust simulation, more whitewater settings, better viscosity solver, etc.) So in summary it may not be a deal breaker for some but for me at least Flip Fluids is just much better. P.S. Both are still quite slow for high-particle-count simulations as they are using the CPU so I'm currently working on a GPU solver that could simulate large-scale scenes in real-time however it's just a prototype now so it's not yet usefull. Blender's Mantaflow is just really buggy and not developed, like the Blender devs didn't focus on Mantaflow as much and Flip Fluids is just generally better and updated frequently etc.
I'm trying to create a scene where I dig with a garden trowel in a garden just digging up small amounts of dirt the trowel goes into the dirt and causes small holes just like a gardener does. Using your add ons Sir do you know how I could create this animation🙂

@Tomtacular NAH its cool...I just bought the new HDRI MAKER STUDIO 3.0 ADDON...it's got a digging function built right in there!
