it looks so fun on insta but on the vlogs these trips look kind of depressive. You are there with a bunch of strangers, having to constantly follow a schedule and the companies only provide you with „activities“ for insta. it sucks to be honest

Ok but don't you see the tense, awkward and loss expresions in their faces all the time? Contantly comparing each other, desperate to look better, nervous if they're doing everything as Alo wants, not knowing anything about each other but having to look like this put together happy group... They're on a trip for work and their work is to be trendy and pretty so that's what they're there for 24/7, amongst their own competitors (cause that's what other influencers are), already in a society that forces women to live around comparing each other... they all look very awkward and uncomfortable. Not to mention how wastful and unsustainable this whole trip is; you go, you shop, you take pics, you post, you eat, you take pics, you post, you shop, you pose, you sleep, you eat, take pics, you post, then you go home and that's how long the joy lasted. Kind of feels a bit too empty to be somenthing to envy them for, I bet they would much rather be in Aspen with loved ones doing what they planned to do and on their own time without worrying if the pic they took looks better or at least as good as the other 10 girls that could take their spot on the next ad campaign.
Literally. And any comment like this is seen as hate or trolling and deleted. I sooo badly wish Emma (and other influencers) would listen and engage in a discourse around sustainability and climate change. It LITERALLY affects all of us, influencers included. Decisions like this trip are aiding to a fucked up future for all of us. Also it feels tone deaf to go on these crazy trips during a cost of living crisis where a lot of her followers could never dream to be able to afford any of this. She doesn’t give back to society much at all (as far as we can see) or even acknowledge that where she is is because of her followers. Disappointing
Really irks me how frivolous some influencers are. I wish our discourse could centre more on sustainability. WE (Emma included) are all the ones who will have to live in this world in 40 years. Things like ‘PJS 🤪’ and entire new wardrobes every season and for every trip are contributing to the crazy climate change we’re already experiencing and will have to deal with when we’re older…
I love the look of the ugg boots but could never wear them keeping in mind that sheep and little lambs are skinned and slaughtered alive.... So sad that they still dont have a vegan option and people all over the globe promote these

If you could monetize the things you're passionate about instead of the highlight of your day being coming home to watch Netflix, wouldn't you? I get some people are happy with their 9-5, but there are a ton of other creative people out there who are obviously earning more than the average American by taking a risk and doing something less conventional. They don't need to be ashamed about how they choose to spend the money they earn by doing something they enjoy.
