By Game 6, they realized the Dodgers were not going to chase and we saw what happened. Still, what a season and what a feast of magical moments to fuel a lifetime of happy memories. Just miss watching them play.

If the Padres had beaten the Dodgers, the Mets would have beaten them for sure. The Dodgers were the only team that could beat the Mets this year. Yes, the Mers would have beaten the Yankees for sure as well. The Padres were chasing pitches unlike the Dodgers so the Mets pitching was a good matchup against them. It is sad. Once the Dodgers came back from the dead in the NLDS, I deep down knew the Mets were done even though I still think if they played a little bit better they would have won one more game and push it to 7 games. This season hurts, but not as much as 06. That year they Mets should have won. I know Cohen is not happy about this, and will spend and make everything possible to win it next year. We will see how that works out.
I would think a Dodger fan would put an asterisk next to a 60 game season WS Championship. Not a fan of LA or the Yankees. Dodgers earned my respect this year now beat the Yankees
2015 NY Mets was National League Champions but people feel like a loser because don't won the World series? 🤯🤯☠️ New York Mets in 2024 won the Division pin, thats a Victory at the end of the day. Mets end up their season as the National league 2nd place of all the teams. Isn't a loser season.
The 2024 Mets are similar to Yogis 73 that took a vastly superior As team to the 7th game the World Series. That team won the pennant playing barely 500 the entire season. Like then they were the everyman team, emulating our ups and downs of our lives. Sure they are paid very well but NY is a combat zone for stress. Just ask any Yankee! I will wear my Mets cap proudly as I shop for groceries today at Walmart.
I was only 6 in 1973. Vague memories to say the least. But I do remember my dad and uncle glued to the TV and seeing them cheering the Mets on. So that's my memory of becoming a Mets fan. More downs than ups but proud of them. LETS GO METS
Actually can't agree that the Yankees have more hitters than the Mets. The Yankees obviously have a fantastic middle of the order..... and they're more dangerous in the middle of the order ...but the Mets.... despite that.... have a deeper batting order than the Yankees. I would be shocked if the Yankees fare any better than the Mets against the Dodgers.
The Yankees have much better pitching than the Mets. And the Yankees have faced much better pitching throughout the postseason than the Mets had. It’s going to be tough for the Yankees but I believe the series will be much closer than the Mets did. The Mets took it to game 6 but that series was all Dodgers. Just clearly superior.

The Yankees pitching isn't all that and the middle of the Yankees order is very talented but the batting order isn't deep....they need big numbers from Soto... Judge.... and Stanton or the Dodgers will dominate them. I think LA wins in 6.... exactly the same as the Mets.

If the big3 aren't major players in the middle of the Yankees lineup they will get every bit of what the Mets got from LA. We shall see....but I'd be surprised if the Yankees push this series to 7 games.
Blaming the WBC for the downfall of a Mets season is absurd. Without it sure, Diaz probably wouldn't have been injured in the off-season. That's the only difference.The dismissal of the importance of the WBC by a lot of MLB fans drives me insane.
