I did not buy the box last year or this year, but have been watching some people opening theirs. I must say that I much prefer how you are opening all of them in one nice video and not dragging it out with long, critical videos over several days. The others don't seem to be enjoying theirs as much as you do. I am still not tempted, because I have spent a lot of money on fabric and vintage machines this year, but I love seeing how enthusiastic you are about each item. So I am a new subscriber. Thanks!
Thanks Jonna! Last year’s box had a lot of criticism, and I think that helped make this box so great. Always a safe bet to be buying what you’ll know you’ll use and love! I got 2 more sets of blades in my boxes, but I really need some ergonomic rotary cutters!!! The vintage machines sound wonderful. Love those classics getting a second chance at life.
I love this year's box! I didn't order this year or last. I was so disappointed what I saw last year, I thought I would not get it. Now I wish I had!!! Thanks for sharing and you did such a good job of not dragging it out!
Thanks, Tony! So, I completely agree, I didn’t order last year’s box and was also disappointed by what was in it. But, so many people complained, I figured they’d try to make up for it this year. That’s why I ordered it, haha! I think it’s great, so now next year is a gamble I’m weighing 😂

The thread cutter is for when your blades are too blunt for fabric, you can still use them to cut apart you chain sewing.
I’m only going to watch the first few so mine are surprises but I love love love how you did this unboxing!

This was my first year, I loved it! The nail stickers were put on my Panasonic iron cover.

I gave the stickers to my granddaughters - they had a ball with them.
My day 9 also had a template for button placement. You may be missing another little piece

I don't know if anyone has discovered the same thing about day 4 as me. All of my quilt patterns (mostly from MSQC) are 5 1/2 inches wide which seems to be standard throughout the industry, but the Disappearing Hourglass Medallion pattern they have enclosed in day 4's package is only 5 1/8" in order to fit into the sleeve. So sadly, none of my quilt patterns will fit into this really awesome binder :(

I just sliced off the outside edge of all my MSQC patterns to make them fit. The borders are large enough that you don't lose any instructions.

Aww, that’s such a bummer! Lot of people felt that way, you are definitely not alone. Next year will be much better with all your own hand picked goodies!

I agree I was very disappointed. I thought that day 25 would be exciting. Nope a freekin plastic tray. It seemed to be all the stuff in the bargain bin.
I ordered this box but was very disappointed with it contents. I do not need novelty items with their quilt store name on them. Minimal projects with fabric. I could have purchased a large quilt kit for the price of this box. Will not order it again.
Oh no! It’s probably not as exciting for experienced quilters that aren’t as attached to the brand. I’d love to know what kits you’d be investing in!!! The Open Gate Quilts countdown box came with one and had a great time making it!
My comment is late because I got an email with an ad for the 2023 box. I figured I'd watch last year's unboxing. You make an excellent point! You can definitely get a nice quilt kit for the price. I like your thinking and may just buy myself a quilt kit I've wanted instead of gambling on getting a bunch of clutter or duplicates of items I already own. Thank you!
@mdw908 yes! That’s a great bet! Anything in this box, even if it’s exclusive, will be available eventually if you really want it! The thimble mug from 2021 got re-released as a birthday celebration mug, so I didn’t miss out after all 🥰
