Hi Julia so good to see you, I am tucked up here in bed and, what a treat, your vlog popped up, always cheers me up and inspires me. I hope you and your family are all well and happy. Like you, I absolutely love bicycles they are such fun images especially with the basket in front full of beautiful flowers. I will certainly be giving these projects ago, you are always so talented and generous, always sharing your projects with us all, I really appreciate your kindness. My girls are coming to stay for three weeks on Thursday and I am thrilled to bits, haven’t seen them since January so have lots of adventures and projects to enjoy with them. We will be using your channel a lot as they really love your work. I hope you have some family time this summer Julia, sending you all my love as always. Big hugs and loves to all our Americans friends, keep safe everyone. Dorothy 🙋🏻😘❤️🌟💐🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hi Dorothy, Thank you so much for your order! Your support and encouragement means more that I can say! I am so excited that your girls are coming to stay with you! Happy Days! My daughter was able to drive home and spend 3 weeks here. My July was filled with family and I enjoyed every minute! We sewed together-made a cross body denim purse and a zippered pouch. It was the best. Enjoy every moment you have with them. Hugs to you, Julia
Oh thank you so much for sharing this with us! I've been scared to try anything like this before because I didn't have a clue where to start! You are fantastic! This is so beautiful!!
Having just recently discovered you and your videos, I am thrilled to be able to go back and find a treasure of older videos! Thank you for sharing your talent in such a fun way!
Hi Julia - Yay! Such a fun and whimsical pattern. Looks so pretty on everything you created. I wish I could find some of the yellow fabric with flowers you used on the coaster backs. I have the brown and the yellow looks so fun. I’ve had my brown a long time now. Not even sure it can be found anymore. Every time I see a notification from you, I just can’t wait to go see what amazing thing you have created. Love the journal/notebook covers the way you make them. The added pocket is the perfect thing it needed. Hope y’all are enjoying summer and staying as safe as you can. Our area is in the red alert again with hundreds of new cases in the region each day. Hope yours is not as bad and that your daughters is not as bad either. I only go out when I have to and then I would rather not but I have to get everything for me and for my parents. I just say a prayer for God to protect me. It’s a scary thing and you never know who or where it may be. Sending Love & Hugs! 💕🤗🙏🏻☀️
Hi Pam, I just checked on the fabric and it must be discontinued. It It is the Poppin' Blossoms collection for ADORNit. I've had mine for a couple of years. (in my stash-Ha) Tennessee is really getting hit hard- stay safe! Praying for protection! My daughter was home for 3 weeks! I was so happy that she was able to get away. She enjoyed the MN lakes and the fresh air it offers. My July was filled with family and it made me happy! Stay positive! Julia
stitchesbyjulia Thanks Julia. Praying that God will keep us all safe everywhere. It’s bad here right now and getting worse each day. Good to know the brand and name of the material. Stay safe sweet friend. Hugs 💕🤗🙏🏻😷☀️🌻
Thanks for watching! I'm still making masks as well. One good thing about it is I'm using up some of that odd fabrics that I've had in my stash:) Julia
I usually can't wait for your next video and enjoys it so much!! You always surprise me with all your ideas for every project. You're such an inspiration, definitely going to try this pillowcase! It's beautiful!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
There are several ways to do free motion stitching, and one way that is a little easier to see what you are doing is to have the machine left side facing you. Since you are doing the moving, it doesn't matter which way around it it. Standing height is sometimes easier as well, and if you have an old machine you can keep it set up since it is only straight stitch you need.
Another inspired creation. I love it when I see a notification that you’ve posted a video. Your creativity is so natural, I wish I had that talent. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos and share with us ❤️
Love the pillow and journals. I finally rec'd my LED strip light and stuck it to the underside of my Baby Lock quilting machine and the difference is like night and day (pun intended). It did take a while to get it, so I would suggest that if anyone orders it, mark your calendar or run a copy of the receipt. I was happy that I ordered it.
Hi Phyllis, So sorry on the slow shipping. Covid hasn't helped the postal service any. I ordered a wool pressing mat and it took 2 months. I forgot I ordered it LOL. But I am so glad I did! I'm late to the party as usual, but it is a great thing! Stay safe and happy sewing, Julia
I really like this, How seriously cute. Your method is just so inspiring and I àm excited to make this. My favorite theme, too! and your pockets are great.
I love this. I made a lama cushion, so I'm going to try this one too. Going to take a look at the journal cover video too, as that's a great gift idea.Thank you for the inspiration x
Would it be possible to get a video on how you come up with new free motion designs. Your channel is unique. I've not seen any others that do this type of fabric art .. maybe I just haven't looked that hard. But I love your style and would love to see your process.
Love your work and tutorials Julia. Thank you. I've been practicing free motion stitching lately but my bobbin thread always tends to show up on the top, no matter what tension setting I try. Any idea how to solve that? I have been sewing on a single layer of fabric held with an embroidery hoop.
Lovely julia.... What's the tension and width if I want to do free motion without batting and stabiliser for garments.. On my brother gs2700.. Thanks in advance.... Beautiful work
Hi Julia I love the pillow and notebook covers, they turned out beautiful! It’s funny that you made a notebook cover with a bicycle on it, I made one for my grandson for his birthday, but I made mine out of a Sizzix thinlet (I think that’s what it’s called) I love the way it turned out. I love everything you make! Xoxo 😘
Hi Rhonda, I have the bike Bigz die that I have used a lot. I think to is now discontinued. It's such a versatile design. Hope you are staying safe! Happy sewing, Julia
stitchesbyjulia hi Julia, yes it is, I love it. I bought mine on eBay so I’m sure it probably is discontinued. Thank you, yes I’m staying as safe as I can, I have diabetes so I either order stuff online or my husband goes get what we need. You stay safe as well! Rhonda Xoxo 😘
Love this bicycle design Julia! I am wondering if there is a way to do this kind of stitching on a t-shirt, I mean, is there a way to stabilize the knit?live in a hot climate, so we rarely use sweatshirts.
Hi Linda, Great question! I've always struggled with t-shirts! I use a tear-away stabilizer on the back of my tees when doing any appliqué designs. The problem is when you stitch on the knit and not the appliqués- the stitches will distort when you remove the stabilizer. I usually put my design on a base fabric and then stitch that to my tee. (I know-not ideal) Julia
Hi Julia. Love the cushion cover, I will be doing one of these for sure. Just a question really please, why did you choose to use a water soluble pen rather than the pen that you iron over and it disappears? Loving all your videos though. I recently purchased whimsy girls & the bike templates so thank you !
Hi Chris, I like to show different options with my supplies. Always test before using any fabric marking pens. The water soluble pens that I used completely disappeared but I had to use lots of water. Thanks for watching and trying the projects! Julia
Hi, The heat-n-bond lite does not make it stiff. Steam a Seam Lite is another wonderful iron on adhesive. Of course you can always use fabric glue. One thing I love about sewing is there are many ways to do things. Use what you are comfortable with and have on hand. Julia
Julia, I always enjoy your video demonstrations of your free-motion creativity. Please, please, I ask you to somehow fix the annoying and distracting sound on your videos. It sounds sort of like a scratchy air sound, also kind of like an old fashioned filmstrip running. I've watched many of your videos and hear this sound in every one of them. Somehow it's louder in this video. Do you know what I'm referring to? I sure hope so. It goes for a while and stops momentarily but then pretty soon it starts up again. Very distracting and annoying. Other than this sound, I like watching you create your creations. Please keep sharing your cute work.
I could literally, sit here and watch this all day.....so creative and inspiring...!!

@@stitchesbyjulia I think I will!! I am attempting a pumpkin pillow first. Getting my machine set up for free motion quilting was difficult!!

Hi, I keep the tension on normal sewing. The stitch length is 0 and the stitch width is also 0. Hope this helps, Julia
So very fun and Summery! Julia I’m wondering - how often do you have to change your rotary cutter blades?
Hi Maggie, It's important to keep them sharp. If I'm using it a lot, I change it weekly. Happy sewing, Julia

Hi, I'm spraying water on it to remove the water soluble pen marks. Thank you so much for watching! Julia
@@stitchesbyjulia tks , aqui no Brasil não tem assim, seria um sonho. Aqui temos a caneta que sai com o calor. Adorei também a cola que usou.
Does using heat bond make it feel stiff like a badge? Why not just use a temporary fabric glue instead?
