I think these dolls are interesting but seems out of touch with their audience. I agree with you both that Monster High's aesthetic is more colorful/eclectic/gothic/etc and it seems like they'd have more success colabbing with brands that reflect that. It sort of feels like when they did that initial collab pre-reboot with that fashion brand that had a minimalist style so all the models styled after MH characters for the promos looked really awkward and bad. The price point also definitely feels unreasonable, again not super in touch with their audience especially for original characters without lore like y'all said. The dolls look good quality for sure but not nearly $150 quality, even with the box. I wonder if they're trying to piggyback of RH's success doing high fashion imitations? It doesn't mesh as well with MH branding though so it just feels sort of out of left field haha. If they were cheaper I would definitely want the skeleton girl though, I think she's the only one whose unique design with her body sculpt is really drawing me in...
The price did shock me. I think they are very stylish and I like the risk mattel took. I may try for Harmony but not going to cry if the bots/scalpers get them. At least mattel gets there money and that may lead to more G1 releases for us commoners. 😊thank you for this review, your insight is appreciated and helps my decision. If i dont get a chance to get any, at leaat i saw them here.
The orange hair clashed with the red gloves. Flaming red & black hair would've been nice...or purple & black...or orange accessories to match the orange hair. 🤔
I just think Monster High could have collabed with a brand that speaks MH with graphic and monster motifs or fun colors. Off White and Shadow High dolls are a much better combo in my opinion
Did you guys watching the second monster high movie? What did you think? Also, Mattel doing this is unfair. I can only imagine the price for these dolls. MGA can do high end fashion for their dolls and still make them affordable, although lately some dolls have been expensive. Just because we’re collectors it doesn’t mean we can afford $100 or more per doll. Also, not to be a brat but are famous UA-camrs like you and clawdeena9 getting free dolls. Honestly you guys deserve them more though.
I don't mind dolls drowning in black fabric because that pleases my eternal inner goth but they really covered up the doll with the most unique body. It's kind of a shame!
I love goth style too! It can just be harder to make out & appreciate details in all-black fashions, especially in doll scale. Totally agree it’s a bummer we can’t see more of Symphanee’s sculpt in that outfit, it’s so cool! Thanks for watching! -Max

One of the dolls resembles a witch that almost was burned at the steak ,but she fled.

For the second one, she does not have a bolt it's a nail.

Nice review and comments. I got the melody off white. Pricey but I like the style. Like the newness. Gonna get them all regardless.
There are some really nice details on these! We’re curious how fast the others will sell on Mattel Creations. Thanks for watching! -Max
