    Hi again. Thank you for answering my last question! I've updated software last week by the FOTA app and the function of split screen is now supporting only one configuration: simetric split screen. The assimetric windows of the mode is not avaliable anymore. DO you have noticed that? Do you know how to solv this problem and return to the previous mode?

      Not sure, I haven't done an FOTA update before. Hopefully someone who knows can answer your question.

    Hi, Can we adjust the latency and how? I noticed there is a delay on the audio while watching music video or live concert in youtube, can we correct the delay? Thanks in advance.

      Are you using cable or wireless? You may have a loose USB cable connection.

      Try to change the settings ( other setting then Access Point Names ) change it to what network you are using in your area. Hope this helps :-)

    Hi, tks for the informative video. may I know whats the difference between the SM6225 and the SDM660 version [with usb -A port ]? which is the latest /faster version. thank you

      @benny76tan31 Both SDM660 and SM6225 are Qualcomm chips which makes them easy to compare. According to cpubenchmark, SM6225 is the newer and faster one.

    Hi again 😅 I heard that there's going to be wireless Apple carplay soon in OTA updates. Does Carlinkit still work if they update it to wireless?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective 2 місяці тому +1

      I'm not sure. What I do know is Carlinkit has two Bluetooth modules, one to connect to the car and the other two the phone, so maybe it will work?

  • @wesc98034
    @wesc98034 2 місяці тому +1

    Before I spend too much time testing this, which method of connecting the carlinkit box to the BYD is faster / less latency? Carplay mode or Android Auto mode? Since the BYD unit supports both, are there any pros or cons of one verses the other?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective 2 місяці тому +1

      My preference is wired Carplay. Wired is always better than wireless in terms of (possible) lag.I never tried wireless android auto because to me wireless is for the convenience which doesn't apply in this case. My carlinkit is always in the car so it can be plugged in permanently. I don't need to plug in every time I get in and out of car. For my phone it make sense to use wireless AA.

    • @wesc98034
      @wesc98034 2 місяці тому

      @@SkyPerspective yep, I get that, but I mean the wired link between the carlinkit and byd. The one I have can switch from using BYD's CarPlay to using BYD's Android auto. Just wondering if one makes a difference over the other for latency. They might be identical since they're both mostly just h256 streams and some input pass through

    Does the box heat up considerably during normal usage? Was watching another review and this was brought up

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective Місяць тому

      To be honest, yes, it does heat up a lot, but it's not an issue. The base has a metal heat sink which helps it dissipate the heat.

    Hi, I got carlinkit today and it's great!! Can you tell me how it goes off? When I turn off my Ioniq 5, carlinkit's light stays on like it's on all the time? Maybe it is an Ioniq issue, that it leaves usb on even when car is off, if you don't have this issue on Seal? Getting my Seal on summer 👍

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective 2 місяці тому +1

      Carlinkit relies on the car to disconnect the USB power when the car switches off. My carlinkit switches off when I turn off my Seal. Interesting to know Ioniq5 can still supply USB power after the car is switched off. Maybe look for a setting in your Ioniq to see if you can tell it to turn off the USB power after car is switched off?
      And you switching over from Ioniq to Seal or Seal is your second car?

    • @Micco321
      @Micco321 2 місяці тому

      @@SkyPerspective I read that some Ioniq 5 owners had same problem and they had to take Carlinkit always out from usb cause of this. Not a problem for long to me 😊 I decided anyway to get this Carlinkit for Seal usage. Ioniq screen is too small to really enjoy any contect imo but that's gonna change with seal 👍 I am switching my Ioniq 5 RWD to seal AWD and I can't wait 😁 I've enjoyed my 2023 Ioniq but I think I will like seal also 😁

      @@SkyPerspective Yes, I watch all your videos. We have another bigger car in house so Seal is going to be fine with lower clearance and smaller trunk...😊 If I want to go offroading, I just take our second car 😅

      Yes, there is an apk manager app so we can install any apk files using sd card. I haven't tried this apk installer app before, so not 100% sure.

    Thank you for this amazing video. Ive received my unity today, i have installed the Google Assistant and changed the Assistance app in the settings to Google, but it doesnt work with the voice command "Hey Google", just if i press the virtual button of the microphone in the screen. Its boring, i just want to say Hey Google and the command a i want. Do you know how can i activate Google Assistant in this Tbox to use voice match? Do you use any voice assistance in your Tbox? Thank you for the attention and the tips you post in the channel! ive subcribed.

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective Місяць тому +1

      I use voice to call OK Google all the time to activate the assistance. Yes you are right, the assistance glitched when we call google assistance the first time. The throbbing lights which indicates google assistant is listening will freeze, this tells me its stuck. At this point, all I do is I tap anywhere on the screen to get out of Google assistance, and then I call "OK Google" again and it will then work. In summary, every time when we first start up the car and carlinkit, we have to call Google Assistant, touch anywhere else on the screen and call Google Assistant again. After that every time we call Google Assistant it should just work. Hopefully Carlinkit can fix this bug.
      Thank you very much for support my work on my channel.

    I have the same carlinkit in my seal. The box crashes when i turn on Google map in satellite mode. Do you have the same issue ?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective 2 місяці тому

      Let me test it out tomorrow and let you know

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective 2 місяці тому

      Tested it, haha, and yes it crashed the graphics. The display refresh could not keep up and eventually I had to restart everything. The nerd in me started troubleshooting the software, and eventually I realised it's the BYD display not designed to handle and could not keep up with such high resolution graphics, i.e. the graphics memory is insufficient to keep up. This is what I discovered. Switch Google map to satelite and the display struggles to keep up to refresh all the tiny buildings, then I turn on BYD 360 camera which somehow clears the display memory and its back to normal except the colours are still flickering on BYD apps. I pulled out Carlinkit and the BYD display colours are still flickering even now only BYD's OS and apps are running. After a few times of switching back and forth the 360 cameras, which apparently clears the display memory, everything is back to normal. So I plug back in Carlinkit and set google map to satelite view to crash it again . The same issue started happening. Given BYD OS and BYD apps display colours also flickers, this tells me either the BYD display graphics processor is the issue here, which makes sense. Carlinkit has a more powerful processor than BYD Android processor.
