Paul Zerdin has been known for ventriloquism for a little bit longer than Nina Conti now (if she's the woman you were referring to) so it is likely that Paul has been using the mask for longer, too, although both people are still very good.
I wonder IF this Guy Will wake up some day and say "woaw ive Done the same act, same voice, same lines, same everything since i got my first teeth, even used the name tracey and do the riverdance..., maybe its time for something new" Don't Get me wrong his funny and awsome at what ever his doing, but its time for new material.
@munckymagic and what -you- might not possibly, perhaps get, is that all people and cultures have the abiliity to laugh at themselves. then again, what would you really know about the situation? after all, the brits and catholics travelled almost hand-in-hand across most of the 'uneducated world', eradicating most aspects of their cultures and telling people how to think, how to feel, and what to consider was 'funny'. so, yes... bravo, mister nose-in-the-air brit. tell us all about 'humor'.

I think it is a sad day when people watch something like this & miss the point completely...OF COURSE IT IS STAGED YOU DUMMIES !!..Steve owned the eyes but Paul Zerdin (genius) owned the mouth & what was said...it was not meant to deceive anyone..Some of you dummies beleived it so much you now have to question its authenticity so as not to feel sucked in by it. It is classic entertainment by an excellent entertainer & funny as hell.
I think the guy is staged though. Watch at 2:24 when he turns to look at him and raises his eyebrows while Paul makes him say "oh no." It's as if he knew what he was going to have him say. Actually throughout the whole thing the dude often turns to him at just the right times as if to talk to him. Wouldn't he normally just be looking forward the whole time?

go to your local library and look for titles that have to do with what your looking for, i cant give titles in your language as I don't speak Finnish but try looking for some books with picture diagrams on mouth position, and altogether how to make it VERY convincing your puppet is actually alive! I hope this helps you in your quest to achieve ventriloquism!
