I know that it does, but the manual that it came with says to not turn it backwards. It was made by Pearl, which went out of business a few years ago. If I could turn it back during DST, it would have to be a Howard Miller grandfather clock. Some people say that turning the hands on mechanical clocks is bad.
@@MimosasMasterpieces I know that. I tried silencing it one night, but when I turned it on it chimed the hour and I had to turn it back a bit for it to play the first quarter. So I leave it turned on through the night.
It’s self corrects by playing quarter past at the half past and at quarter to playing half past and then on the hour playing quarter to A man every 15 minutes after that it’ll click and then on the hour it will play the right time

Now I know how it'll work when my grandparents visit us from Florida again because my grandma doesn't like grandfather clocks because they're so loud. Plus, mine's from 1990 and I tried one night and it didn't malfunction. It's currently off because we have to tighten the hour hand since I played with it.

When you silence the clock the chimes are off it resets itself automatically
