i took like a 5 month break from magic due to many reasons and man getting back into it with some dope ass boshnroll is the best way to get back into it
1:58:38 Maybe Humility pre combat, then +1 Emperor to add a counter, and attack? They had both plow and Endurance but end result would have been better. IF we ignore the fact you're holding Stoneforge, wich seeks for living weapons, wich bust open humility. I think your line is better even if didn't worked out there.
The trick with assigning Kaldra damage to get the exile effect was cool. "You come here to level up at Magic..." Sure do, I'll be remembering that trick :)
@@BoshNRoll Real question. Is staff the next big thing (After the EI ban) in terms of 2 mana draw spells for control decks? It definitely gives Accumulated Knowledge vibes.
I think the sideboard strategy in round 1 needed to be a lot more aggressive. Blood Moon basically shuts down the entire deck of the opponent, RIP means Emry can’t rebuild, humility means none of their creatures do anything etc. I think you over-indexed on meltdown being good but the issue there is that they can rebuild from it too easily and you have to lock out their options instead of being reactive.
Game 5 Match 3. On his turn 3 you end of turn make a 1/1 shark and they have the initiative equipement in hand with stoneforge in play ready to activate. On turn 4 you attack and they initiative end of turn. Isn't playing humility the play ? If they take the initiative you take it right back because stoneforge is tapped, and if they dont they will never be able to use stoneforge. Am i missing something ?
I need a timestamp to get all the context. Using Humility to "now or never" the Stoneforge is interesting. Need more information about how likely I was to protect the initiative though, or if they could just untap and cast torch with blockers instead of SFM-ing it in.
at the beginning of the video rn, you haven’t mentioned something I never leave out of stoneblade, and may have just not had space Ig, but where’s the Jitte?
Removal is great in the format right now and small creatures aren’t. It’s a big, risky investment to get Jitte in play and equipped then you don’t get much benefit if it connects. The format is just in a weird spot for that one right now.
I don't think I understand brainstorm lock. You're 1 card deeper into the bad draws, playing brainstorm doesn't change or cause that to happen. The downside is - you Know you're doomed lol. I suppose - Just the turn you play brainstorm, you're reaching 2 cards deeper, so if you are in that situation - and don't know it, avoid being "locked" lets you dig those 2 extra cards 1 or 2 turns later? But you don't know, because you didn't play it... not knowing doesn't mean you're playing around it, you're still going to draw those cards.
Often players keep hands on the 'strength' of brainstorm hopefully finding lands, especially a fetch-land to shuffle away the chafe. When you are Brainstorm-locked, Brainstorm didn't live up to its potential. Often you have mana (lock or flood) problems. So it's as you said--knowing you are doomed. But also, knowing that a great card--Brainstorm--performed at a below-average level in a crucial moment to put you in that doomed position you have to wallow in for a few turns, unless you die in the meantime.
@@rossmcbeath4997 Yup haha, but I see that waiting a turn, as long as you can before death or missing your land drop, or until you feel too uncomfortable sitting on it not spending mana xD, that later turn - Might reach further enough to succeed.
humility was ass this entire league. if i'm playing a 4 mana card in a format of turn 2 kills and wastelands, it seems reasonable to expect that card to AT THE VERY LEAST not help my opponent more than me
2hr video of bosh playing a blue deck?? Hellllllll yeah. God bless Spunky.
Yessss
I was thinking the same, but you said it

Hi, it’s me, I’m the problem it’s me
Petition to call it Story-Blade over Staff-Blade.
Outside of Jitte in DnT, SfM decks haven't really played a Blade in awhile.
Stone-Staff!

Staff feels like the new Accumulated Knowledge, except it’s white! Still really good in these jeskai builds with sharknado and stoneforge.
Taking a screenshot of their list. Very smart.

57:10 round two is the best game of legacy I've seen in a long time.
I love watching Bosh just chew up control mirrors. Like. Chef's kiss.
I came to bosh for pox videos and fell in love with vintage
I still REALLY want to see you use Staff of the Storyteller alongside Currency Converter...
Lots of staff brews coming. Stay tuned.

I really wanna brew something with third path iconoclast and the staff, probably a really different looking shell though
The round one opponent definitely had you on high tide from the mull to 5 and 2 basic island go turns.
Rent free.
Cain from Diablo voice: “Stay awhile and listen”
I was a bit surprised not to see more of a showing from the SB Blood Moons.
I am still shocked we are not seeing currency converter + staff of the story teller lists. The synergy is wonderful
There’s a ton of Staff decks in my recording queue, but I only get 5 videos per week and have to keep it fresh. They’re coming, give it time. :)
@@BoshNRoll *Excitement Intensifies*
I think this would benefit from a couple of sagas and a retrofitter foundry.
Your critique is on-point, but I do like the RiP inclusion, it's super important when Breakfast and other graveyard decks are popular right now.
cant wait to watch later. the last run with staff was so based
I keep looking for Standstill but I cannot find it. The shell looks so similar
Your Supreme Verdict commentary is excellent. 😂
I've been missing these sorts of decks in your queue.
Pikula staff? Mardu staff? Get it! Shout out "Larry Action" though please senpai :D
Didn't end up mattering, but at 52:51, can't you play your land, equip Kaldra to Stoneforge for an extra point of power, and force a block out of Sai?
Humility + Initiative equipment sounds like a sweet deck.

R5 rules question: if you cast Humility while they have an Endurance with two damage marked on it, would Endurance die?
Yes, the marked damage doesn't go away but the creature's base toughness is 1, therefore it dies when state based actions are checked
Yes.

Every draw step you wait gets you 1 card deeper when you go for the Brainstorm to find the shuffle effect or what you need.

When you brainstorm but can’t shuffle the cards away, so you have to spend 2 turns drawing them over again.
