I love that you start with training the brain to make the shapes before jumping into actual drawings. I am a big believer in developing muscle memory as a basis for any physical skill.
Yep I think it helps a lot to make some connections between the hand and eye before actually applying the same movements and skills to a drawing. Thanks for your comment!
You know how to convey a message through your art. We are so inspired by your work, it’s wonderful. you went above and beyond my expectations. You have a remarkable ability.
Hey Palz! Never tired of these. ! This enjoyable scenes! I enjoyed this content. Wow your channel has great views Keep posting i will come back for more.
I’m so excited about your channel and I just purchased your course on Udemy. I’ve taken a few drawing classes and they glide over everything and then give me an intricate landscape or table scape to draw on the second day. It’s very defeating. These exercises are so helpful, not only to learn how to hold the pencil but I try to use different pencils to see how they look. Thank you so much!
Could I ask what lead holder you're using and what sharpener you use? The choices on Amazon are overwhelming. Years ago I had a great pair but they are lost now. Thanks.
Sure, its a Staedtler Mars Technico, you can check it out here amzn.to/3iJvoVx I use it all the time for planning and sketching but I did put a 4B lead in it as I found the HB one that comes with it a bit too light. Even the 4B isn't very dark so its not ideal for a final drawing, but its great for sketching. It has a lead sharpener in the end too :)
Hi Carol, For these exercises the purpose of going around several times is to develop coordination and the correct hand movement for drawing circles quickly. There are more controlled ways of drawing a circle and I actually have a video coming out in a week or two on how to draw circles! But the most efficient way to draw a circle is by getting a circular rhythm going with your hand and drawing two or three times around - the only problem is it does take practice to get the rhythm right! If you get really good at the rhythm then maybe just once around will work but usually a couple of times helps to even the circle out a bit if the first time isn't perfect.
Give it a go! You can slow down the video or pause it when you need to. Or you might like to start with the video linked in the description which is the first one for beginners.
Hi, its a Staedtler Mars Technico mechanical pencil with a 2mm lead, like this one amzn.to/3iJvoVx but mine has a 4B lead in it instead of the standard HB lead. Thanks for watching :)
@@ThePencilRoomOnline Thanks! I purchased my own yesterday from an art store! Been seeing them in all the drawing vids I watch, had to have it. It’s gonna be my go to pencil.
they’re great because they don’t need much sharpening. Only issue I have is 4b is the darkest lead they make and it’s hard to get a very soft dark shading mark. They’re great for sketching though, very clean lines. Handy tip if you didn’t know, the hole in the top is a sharpener. Enjoy!

@@ThePencilRoomOnline Thanks I just ordered it. And I signed up for your classes. I look forward to starting.
Excellent tutorials. I've also joined your Udemy course. I've been looking for a course like yours for years.
Thanks Tricia!
When drawing the ellipse or circle, why do you draw continuously instead of just once around?
Thank you,
Carol

Am new to drawing and am finding your exercises helpful, but Please use a darker pencil, I can barely see the lines of what you are drawing.
Thank you
I’ll do my best :)
شوكران اوختي اوحيبولرصم عل الورق انا رصم نعم شوكران مرحبا اوختي القلب صفي
Is it just my phone? The drawings are so light I can barely see them.
Yeah its a bit light for small viewing, I've got a better camera since then 🙂
How do you do folk art flowers?
Hi Brenda, Not my area of expertise sorry but Im sure you'll find lots of other UA-cam videos on it :)
