Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) isnot low-paying at all.. especially computer architecture grads, VLSI grads earn exactly the same as CS grads.. For mechanical, most go into robotics which too pays better (though as much as CS).. Although completely understandable, still it is sad that the Civil industry doesn't pay as much and people try to move to MIS/MSBA instead of civil just so they earn more after graduation.. Always pursue what you like guys, you will do better at what you love, trust me!
Absolutely TRUE!!!...... Society is stereotypical towards CS jobs. They don't even think about others jobs in various sectors.
I agree. Pursue your passion. Don’t rely on these wankers to tell you what’s good and what’s bad. I did industrial engineering as that was my passion and it’s been treating me really good. Core company. Living life !

I really like how you actually mentioned about people not being too much sure in their first years because they're obviously loving it so much and not yet aware of the "reality". This is a really important aspect to care about before forming an opinion right after consulting with a "newbie". But obviously one could always discuss with them the employability and campus resource aspects in terms of their own (the 1st year's) research if they had done before landing there.

Absolutely! A great video parth, I’m going for my masters this year and this series was really helpful.
To add to this, The last point/part about speaking with alums/ current graduates made alot of sense. I see on a lot of Facebook groups where most of the people who haven’t ever studied in the US, end up making false claims about a university and their value solely because of the rankings which they’ve seen on google and this ends up making the applicant doubt himself and everything that he’s done to get into that school.
I completely agree with your recommendation that its better to speak with people who are alums and are working in the US.
Also, just to add a thought here- Listen to these people but don’t build up your mindset or path on what they say!

Hi Parth, I'm in the same position about my admits. I'm tossing between CU Boulder and UCincinnati for Data Science Program. As per location, Brand and Avg Start salaries wise CU Boulder has major advantage. As per Tuition fee, CU Boulder costs 46k and UCINCINNATI costs 20k. My main concern is like Brand vs Fee. I'm not to analyse even after contacting alumni.
Please suggest me what should i give more priority.

@@AyushGupta-bz6mi Hi Ayush, I am still studying here, would be defending my thesis in the Fall. I got 3 scholarships and 3 financial aids which all summed up to about $25,000 in scholarships!

I think not mentioning immigration issues and specifically, the H1b process and the GC backlog in a video that has a primarily Indian audience is a mistake. The first question in studying abroad should be "which country?". US should no longer be the default choice for Indians given the reality that most Indians' pathway to permanent residency is entirely blocked.
@7:40 How are GTech, Texas A&M, UIUC, NorthEastern or Case Western considered top tier? I thought top tier would be HPY, Stanford, Caltech, Chicago, the other Ivies, JHU, Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt, etc.
@2:40 All UCs aren’t the same. How does one compare Berkeley with Merced? You can’t compare colleges within one state system.

Hi,
I got two admits:
1. ASU MS CS (non thesis)
2. Virginia Tech MEng CS.
Here is the tricky part, I know VT has better ranking for CS. But CS MEng started only in 2020. And any fundings are for PhD and MS CS because they both are thesis based.
I am really confused about it all. VT MEng has just started last year so no seniors who graduated from there.
In terms of on and off campus employment which is better.

I want to do my Undergrad in computer science from the US/Canada and then work for 2-3 year and then do masters or straight do undergrad and masters together
But then i also want to do an mba which i have thought of doing after 2-3 years of job and paying back all my loan. Till then my salary will be highly risen so i can choose brand value for masters and mba but for undergrad a good ranked University under top 50 for computer science is good enough. What are you pursuing?
If it is related to engineering you should go to Boston but if it is another course besides engineering go to Rutgers but don't go to Stevens. This is my advice👍
