    • @scynapz
      @scynapz 7 років тому +2

      Actually that's what a lot of people (including myself) don't like about the prequels. It's too over choreographed.

    • @aroguebard
      @aroguebard 7 років тому +7

      scynapz What is "too choreographed"? They're meant to be Jedi (and Sith), trained since they were able to walk, talk, and write to be duelists. It makes sense that they jump around to gain advantage, twist, turn, twirl & flourish the saber to distract the enemy, and incorporate the force etc. Compared to the Originals where they swing the sabers around just to hit, which is of course perfectly understandable also, why? Duh, Obi-Wan was an old human, Vader was younger (than Kenobi) but has a machine attached to him that keeps him alive and able to move even in his old age, but diminishes many possibilities of movement, and Luke, come on, let's be honest is a half-trained Jedi, with no Master to guide him, except ghosts of said Masters who can only guide him, advice him and help advance his understanding of the force, but lightsaber combat? No. It is evident in ROTJ, he may have improved since they last fought ESB, but he can't even bring down (not kill) Vader (given the points I've given above) without anger fueling his movements (which prove that his forte is more upon the force than his saber combat). So forgive me if I don't agree that the prequels are "too choreographed", to me it just made sense with the era the prequels are set on. If it were a youngling or a non-jedi fighting with a lightsaber with this much choreography, I would have agreed (because it doesn't really make sense). Like I said only TRAINED SINCE CHILDHOOD Jedi and Sith were fighting like that. (Though I can agree with one thing, the jumping I don't mind too much, but FLIPPING around? Nah that's just too far). I'm pretty sure the most hated part of the Preqs was the scriptwriting. Oh AND George Lucas, probably.

    • @jpteknoman
      @jpteknoman 7 років тому +3

      it means Lucas removed a basic concept of lightsaber combat that himself had established in the original trilogy: "lightsabers are heavy!" in 4, 5, 6 the choreography was made with the assumption that the swords were around 5lbs (2.5kg) distributed evenly across hilt and blade
      only in episode 1 lightsabers are used in a way that implies they have any weight, in 2 and 3 the choreography was made with the assumption that their weight is at most 1lb (0.5kg, the weight of a small loaf of bread) and only the hilt had weight.

    • @Bubbabyte99
      @Bubbabyte99 7 років тому +6

      jpteknoman You do realize you're trying to apply logic to a movie series that features space wizards who use supernatural powers to aid them in times of need, right? In fact, that could be the answer right there. The force is helping them. Besides, you can't use logic and reasoning when the goddamn FORCE exists in their universe.

    You can wiki it or wookiepedia it. It's apart of the extended universe. The form Anakin used it very offensive meant to simply overwhelm your opponent quickly. But against someone who can defend against it, it can leave the user exhausted if they get into an extended battle. You don't see that much with Obi vs Anakin because the surge of the dark side is keeping Anakin going not to mention his endurance is already pretty high from training with Obi-wan.

Gave him an edge, if you think about it, since he could fight with a single blade, then surprise his enemy and stab him with the other side.

    If you have a huge cart of ore, it will move quite slowly, and if you're there unauthorized for ore-melting purposes, that ore will get all chopped up, adn there goes all that money you were trying to make. However, for good security, they only needed three or four, and instead they got eight.

    If you watch the fight between Obi-wan and Ankin though, you'll see that Anakin is full out offensive and only defends himself against counter attacks where as Obi-wan is purely defensive and doesn't strike unless he sees an opening, which is what Soresu is meant to do...outlast your opponent until they make a mistake where Djem So is meant to put so much pressure on the defender that they can't adequately defend and it CREATES openings.
