Banksy je pseudonym britského streetartového umělce. Ten se 1. října 2013 vydal do New Yorku, kde každý den na předem neohlášeném místě v ulicích vytvořil jedno ze svých děl, což vyústilo v jednatřicetidenní honbu za Banksyho uměním. Dokument z produkce HBO USA (2014). Režie: Chris Mourkarbel.
Banksy je pseudonym britského streetartového umělce, jehož pravou totožnost se dlouho dařilo tajit. 1. října 2013 Banksy ohlásil, že přijíždí do New Yorku, kde stráví jeden měsíc a každý den do ulic velkoměsta umístí jedno ze svých děl. Nikdy však neřekl, na jakém místě fanoušci jeho graffiti najdou. Celý měsíc tak jeho příznivci hledali nové kresby ve víře, že je objeví dřív, než je někdo jiný přemaluje či zlikviduje.
Během této doby Banksy politickým obsahem některých svých děl rozvířil kontroverzní diskuzi a zároveň znovu otevřel otázku, zdali je street art umění, nebo jen obyčejný vandalismus. Celá akce měla ale ještě jeden, významnější důsledek - donutila obyvatele rušného velkoměsta dívat se kolem sebe, sledovat umění a zamýšlet se nad sociálními tématy.

One gets meaningless street 'art' by the miles and miles, and then one gets one single tiny Banksy and all of a sudden street art is elevated to celestial heights of meaning purpose and revelation. The difference between real and abstract art is demonstrated by the public reaction to a Banksy...
The thing with banksy works it’s not so much about the creation or the images itself his images are more thought provoking and make you think, he is clever

It angers me to think that anyone would try to suppress an artist from doing this. People need things to look forward too and this is a free inclusive way to create positive excitement and shake things up.

Merci pour le reportage. A Paris (France), on en a eu de très beaux aussi mais les jaloux, les cupides et les miséreux sont partout les mêmes : à "signer" le travail des autres et tout barbouiller moche. Avec ou sans destruction des immeubles ou des ruines après.
