    My comment is I realize MC is no longer posting live trades (which I love and benefit from) for a reason. Speculating why is understandable but knowing why is really none of my business. I just wish Michael the best and want him to know how much I (and many others) appreciate his overall trading protocol shared with us.

    Michael, I too have Riley to thank for referring me to your UA-cam page. This is exactly the style of trading I've been looking for for about 7 years! I felt a "light bulbmoment" when I saw your scalp trading style. I can't wait to try in real money. Definitely going to practice in paper first. I have been using TOS, but am opening a Ninja Trader account for the lower margin requirement and less fees. Question: can you put a trailing stop on the runner in Ninja trader? If yes, why not do that every time?

    • @MichaelChin
      @MichaelChin  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Susan, I'm glad Riley referred so many of you guys over here! Yes you can definitely put a trailing stop on the runner in Ninjatrader. I'm just way too greedy when it comes to runners...but yes that's probably a much better way to manage them

    Hey recently discovered your videos and I'm loving them, but I've been curious, why not just quit the job and do this full time?
    Depending on where you are, $500 a day is a ton of money for most people as is. You're making that with about 2 hours. So why not quit your full time job and just do the trading full time? Feels like with your skill level you could pull in at least $1,000 a day by just trading for about 4 or 5 hours.

    First off, great content and insight, thanks! I do have a question -- you often say that you love the double-leg moves, but you often play against the second move without a whole lot of explanation. Like "you know I normally love the double-leg move, but I'm not going to do that this time and people are going to get trapped". How do you know that it's not going to happen when you say that you normally would look for it to happen? Thanks for any info from you or people in the comments.

  • @DL-978
    @DL-978 4 роки тому +1

    Hey! Great video again, thanks! At 9:10 , the ‚twolegged pullback‘, do you mean the following: the first leg is the long red downward movement, then a very small pullback (one green bar), and then the next red bar is the fake continuation of that? So this trap is similar to the one before with the looong upward leg and the very short red pullback.

    • @MichaelChin
      @MichaelChin  4 роки тому +3

      Hey Dino! This is tough to explain without drawing it out, but the long red downward move is actually the second leg. We then enter on the small one green bar with a stop below at 3374. Prices do trade against us, but never hit our stop order. Remember traps take advantage of traders in trouble. Prices haven't broken through my stop order, so I am not in trouble yet. Shoot me an email if this isn't super clear

    Um, I been watching all your vids. And haven't read comments or heard the reason for this buy why why why do you still go to work?????? Your talking about being a successful trader with a full time job. That makes no sense. A successful trader doesn't need a job. You sit and make like 300 to 1200 every morning. You must have a very important job or something... I don't get it. Don't you get this question a lot and why don't you let us know. Our whole goal is to escape the rat race. You say work has you stressed and you stop trading because of it. That's ridiculous. Stop working and trade all day and live like a rockstar! Thanks for the content! I love your style.

  • @Curtis2Smith
    @Curtis2Smith 4 роки тому

    I appreciate your expert sharing but don't seem to be able to catch up with you. I would have been one of those trapped traders at 3366 because I would think that after the 2 legged pullback prices would go with the previous trend. Isn't that what is expected? Or is it because the highs and lows and therefore the trend seem to be changing from the previous trend so that the normal trend expectation after pullback no longer applies? Also, I don't get how going short helps trapped traders. Someone mistakenly going long has to sell, the same as you, to exit their position. True? So how does your selling also help them?

    Great video Michael. My question for you is, how do you spot the 2 leg pattern. Is it with a long candle or doji or what. I've just started looking at your videos after I found Riley's video. I really like how you get the 99% with your 3 contracts and you leave the runner in play. I'm learning trade forex, but the futures market is so much more fun. At the moment I'm trading a virtual account with Infinity. Do you know much about the Infinity platform, and if so could you share with me your thoughts. I want the best platform when I start traded real money. I'll be starting out with about $1,000-$1,200 so I won't be looking right away to join the more expensive platforms yet; although I do have a TOS account for options trading. Again thanks for all of your videos.

    question on the runner...given how infrequently the far-out runner pans out, why not move that stop in your favor and get a little extra (albeit less) cash more frequently than waiting for the big gifts? Figuring if you're watching it and see the big momentum moves you can always move it accordingly and you're still where you would have been otherwise. But what are your theories on not taking 1-3pts and instead waiting for 4 or 5? I see you sometimes move your stop to trail/accommodate market movement, but not super often (at least in these videos).

      The way he seems to be doing it is moving his stop up behind (adjusting per 2000 ticks or so). When he wants to close he brings the bar up or uses the red line to sell the remaining 1 position

    Michael, you're showing us 95% winners so, why aren't you trading 8 contracts for over $1000.00 a day and saying goodbye to the daily grind and travel... ? 👍😎

    • @MichaelChin
      @MichaelChin  4 роки тому +7

      Hahaha if only it were that easy! Why not just 40 contracts?? These past few weeks have been very fortunate, but I'll slip at some point...that'll be a fun video to review.
      One thing about trading more contracts is the risk tolerance. I'm fine losing $400 on 4 contracts, but losing $800? That's not financially responsible right now, and would mess with my head. To be honest, it already has. I haven't been showing all of the missed trades, but lately I've been hesitating to take good setups because I'm scared to lose!

    • @_Randwulf
      @_Randwulf 4 роки тому +1

      @@MichaelChin You're currently risking $400 per trade. I'm assuming that's also equal to or less than 5% of your trading capital. (I hope) That would be $8000. If you're averaging $500 a day, you would make another $8000 in 16 days. even if it took 20 days or a little longer, you could double your contracts and still risk only 5%. You're now averaging $1000 a day or $200k per year. At that point, I would stick to 8 contracts until you're risk is only 1% or 2% of capital.. Good trading Michael.. We're enjoying going with you on this journey... 👍😎

    • @MichaelChin

      @@_Randwulf Thanks Randwulf, your math is totally right! The number of contracts you trade can quickly ramp up with this strategy. That's one reason why I love this trading style, and want to perfect it
