I recently came across one of the 'upgraded' regular E10s, the E10 1239, pulling a charter train in Köln, in the original beige-and-blue rheingold livery. Such a beauty. It was also pulling a number of original Rheingold cars. A quick google shows that this one is in ownership of Lokomotivclub 103 e.v., who also own a TEE-colored BR 103
Great follow-up video for the Rheingold! Love how you're starting to experiment with adding animations into your videos, like the pantograph on the E 10. This was very interesting and I can't wait to see what comes next here, great work as always!
Thank you so much! I would love to do more animation work. Unfortunately, however, my computer is quite slow, so I can use animations only sparsely, at least for now.
The front handrails were later removed again when window cleaners started working from the ground with long handled brushes. Also the skirting under the buffers disappeared and they went through a variety of modifications of the side air intakes. A better bogie for 160 km/h was developed in the 1970s for the newly developed class 111, still technically related to the E10, but these bogies never found their way into an E10.
My father was stationed in West Germany from 1973 to 1976 with the US Air Force. The engines and rolling stock remind me of what I saw on the rails when we were their. I can't wait to see your video on the Class 103 engines. I remember my father had a full set of the 103 TEE in HO scale by Fleishmann which was favorite electric set in the collection.
Wonderful presentation! Subscribed. I was on the first blue and beige running from Hoek van Holland to München. After that, each year on the Rheinpfeil when red and beige. I remember both trains from Amsterdam and Rotterdam , running in to Duisburg at exactly the same time for the complicated rearranging of ‘Kurswagen’ to München and Basel. My uncle was an Oberinspekteur on the Bundesbahn and used to hop on to meet us whilst the coaches were set up for the two trains. Wonderful times. Thank you so much for the background info. My grandad lived in Oberaudorf and the journey south through Holland to München and Rosenheim was magical.🇬🇧
Danke!
Cool video! I personally always liked the E10's, even though they are quite old they still look somewhat modern to this day. Just a quick question, does someone know wether the super E10's body was used on the E10.3( like Wikipedia says), or whether the body was modified?
From my understanding, the body of the E 10.3, when built, was exactly the same as for the E 10.13 (with handrails and steps on both ends), except for the colour of course. There might have been minor differences, however, I'm not aware of any.
Very nice video! I just purchased a second hand h0 model from Liliput, the E10 001prototype in cobalt blue! It's nice and detailed, now I have to find some wagons to create a consist. Any recomandations?
In their later years (then already classified as BR 110, however) the E10 prototypes could often be seen pulling local passenger trains formed by so-called Silberlinge. But any express coaches, as long as they are from the correct era, would make for a great consist.

It surely must have been wonderful to witness the historic Rheingold first hand! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great video and interesting information about the Bügelfalte locomotive. 😊
Wir brauchen unbedingt ein Video für die 103/E03!
Thanks for the excellent videos! I really like the crossfade between variants, really illustrating the differences.
Thank you for your support!
3:05 That's not a radiator, just a ventilation grille. Radiator would imply that it was an active cooling element.
True, I've chosen the wrong word here.
Wie lange brauchtst Du, um so eine Lok von Grund auf in Blender zu modellieren?
Btw.: Großartige Arbeit!

Another amazing video! Question: Are there any plans for a look at the BR 120?
I personally love the BR 120! However, I don't think I will be able to cover it anytime soon, but someday it will happen!

Great video, man. Love your channel

Yes, it was exactly the same (apart from the color scheme of course).
Love your videos, keep it up
Thank you!

@@steelbridgemodels Thank you very much! If the info I found is corect they were retired in the original color scheme at the end of the '70.
Me I request a video about the so called "Ludmillas"? Greetings from Mexico!
Awesome! Is it possible to download your models anywhere?
Thank you! Unfortunately, however, they are not available to download.
You have permanently destroyed my image of German engineering being the best!
