Rheneas was scared of smudger because it was the first time smudger showed up and he just had a flee or fight respond and raced away if Rheneas wasn't the first to see smudger and he was put in skarloeys position in episode 2 he would have stood up for himself but not as much as skarloey by the time smudger started racing at him he would have ran away
