Nice Opeth ranking John! Still got a lot of their albums to get through, I think I'll definitely try to get some of their albums listened to though, been wanting to for a while. I'll defiantly check out Ghost reveries, Deliverance, Still life and Your arms, your hearse 😁🤘🏻
Ghost Reveries is awesome. I also have the CD with the bonus track, which is a cover of Deep Purple's Soldier of Fortune. I listened to the CD with my headphones and the sound is great.
@jcrockandmetalreviews Ah nice that's cool, I bet they do a great job of that cover! Nice one, I'll definitely have to check out Ghost reveries, cheers 😁🤘🏻
Great review, my personal fav is Ghost Reveries as well, I think it’s their peak at death metal and prog as well. The drumming is incredible! But speaking of drums, I personally dislike the drum ideas and sounds on Blackwater Park. I’m a huge SW/PT fan, and I think both Wilson and Akerfield are absolute genius musicians and writers, but the drums on that album just bug the crap out of me lol. Anyway, thank you for a great video!
Even though I’d rank the album’s very differently, I love how ruthless you were against all the new stuff. You gave no quarter😂 For fun, here’s mine: 14. In Cauda Venenum 13. Morningrise 12. Heritage 11. Sorceress 10. Orchid 9. Deliverence 8. Pale Communion 7. My Arms Your Hearse 6. The Last Will and Testament 5. Watershed 4. Blackwater Park 3. Damnation 2. Still Life 1. Ghost Reveries
That's cool. Nice Ranking, it was similar to mine except for the placement of Morningrise, which I agree can feel long, but I can never get tired of To Bid You Farewell.
On March 7th, German thrashers Destruction are returning with their 16th album, entitled Birth of Malice. As for an "Is It That Bad" on an album from that band, that's set for The Least Successful Human Cannonball, released in 1998.
I can agree with quite a bit here, except putting Watershed at #2. That album never worked for me, although it does have a couple tracks I really like. It's an odd, disjointed album that doesn't match the greatness of the earlier material. It was nice to see Ghost Reveries at #1, though. That album is an absolute masterpiece 1. Blackwater Park 2. Ghost Reveries 3. My Arms Your Hearse 4. Still Life 5. Deliverance 6. Morningrise 7. Orchid 8. Watershed 9. The Last Will and Testament 10. Damnation 11. In Cauda Venenum 12. Pale Communion 13. Heritage 14. Sorceress
lol idk how you can pick Blackwater over Ghost Reveries! The drums on BWP just drive me crazy. The songs are so amazing and they just deserved so much better. But im gonna go back and listen to it because so many ppl rank it high

Oh man if you like death metal or prog, you cannot go wrong with Ghost Reveries! An absolute genius work of art
@stevewade4190 Nice, yeah I'm sure I would enjoy Ghost reveries, sounds like I would. Cheers 🤘🏻

Great ranking dude! I think mine would be very similar. I think In Cauda Venenum would possibly be a little higher.
That's cool. They have a solid discography so even their worst is still a good album.
Great vid! Strangely, my 1st two Opeth CDs were Blackwater Park and Pale Communion; so different yet both excellent. Opeth has no weak albums.
Yeah, I agree, they are all good.
Cool Opeth ranking there, John.
Thanks, glad you liked it.

Opeth don't make bad albums
No, they are one of the few metal bands to have an almost flawless discography.
