- This is part 1 of my Revell models Landspeeder build. Here I review the kit and the replacement figures that I purchased from Falcon3DParts. Also shown are the stormtrooper figures I printed that will complete the planned display of the Mos Eisly scene. The video concludes with detailing and painting the figures. Part 2 will move onto the speeder and dsiplay.

Has to be one of the best R2-D2 figure painting I've ever seen. Stormtroopers are top notch too.
thanks so much
Oggie, the figures look great! For the dent in the front of the landspeeder I ground a hole and then attached a small piece of crumpled aluminum foil in the hole with CA. Shaped it and then blended the edges with putty.
Interesting idea. My plan was to just cut an opening in that area and sculpt it with apoxie sculpt. Appreciate the suggestion, thanks
Off to a Fantastic start with the Figures. They look Awesome . Oggy you have to Paint a Back Ground Scene for the Diorama Base.
Thanks so much. I have thought about that. :)
Dude the paint job on these figures is amazing. Can't wait to see the rest of the build. Top notch for sure.
Thanks so much Brian
Very cool project. Wonderful work on the figures. Worth the money on the resin good guys. I like the Stormtroopers best. Adding the refrig backpacks enhances them exponentially. Enjoyed watching this video....keep up the superb work.
Bill
Thanks so much Bill. Appreciate the kind compliments
Wow, those additional printed backpacks really sit nicely on the figures. Your color choice for obiwan's robe look great for showing material thats been exposed to very harsh desert conditions. Excellent work and I look forward to seeing the next part of the build.
Thanks so much for your kind compliments
Brilliant mate, those figures are superb, when I built mine I binned the figures and threw a tarp over it with a lot FOR SALE in front of it!,happy modelling 😉👍
Thanks so much
The Sculpting a Galaxy book is a great resource! I reference mine all the time.
It sure is. Amazing what those guys did to create those incredible miniatures.
Very impressed with those replacement and addition figures, looking forward to the next video installment.
thanks so much
The reason there's two different steering wheels is because they used at least 2 different speeders. One used a 3 wheeled micro car frame with a mirror under it to conceal the wheels. The 2nd was mounted on a arm that could be turned in a circle just like a ride at the county Fair. That's the one you see in the scene where Luke discovered Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen were killed , and also the scene that you are recreating. In both those scenes it has the steering wheel that is open on top. Thanks for all your great tips.
Very good…that makes sense. Appreciate the info and you watching. Thanks
Excellent job on painting those figures. I've never been good at painting people. That looks like a great kit!
Thank you very much
Really nice paint work, Doc. Being a figure modeler, I really like the work on the figures. Outstanding work on the likenesses. GeoS
Thanks so much George. Great to hear from you and certainly appreciate your kind words.
Looking forward to part 2, figures turned out really well i think!
thanks Fredrik
Looks fantastic! Looking forward to part two.
Thanks
Echoing other comments, you did an exceptional job on those figures. Looks like they're worth the investment.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the compliment
Good to see you Oggie. Great job with your figures and back packs. You're getting really good at doing faces. Keep up the great work. Cheers - Virgil
Thank you Virgil
another fantastic build. Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much. Really appreciate you watching.
Great work on those figures. Will look wonderful with the speeder and diorama.
Thanks so much
Excellent work. I wish I had your talent for painting.
Thanks so much
Very nice work :) You were right with discarding the Revell paints, I started the hobby with them and those have been the worst acrylic paints I ever used, as soon as I tried out other brands I also immediately got rid of them.
Thanks so much. Yeah i cant imagine they were of good quality. Weathering will be a lot of fun. Love doing SWars pieces because of weathering and detailing they have.
Fantastic work on the figures! This is going to be an amazing build!
Thank you Ken
Hey Oggie
Great outcome. Seems your decision to purchase the extra figures, was definitely the right one. Hope you and yours are well.
Take care🙂
Thanks Tim. Appreciated your comments. Close to wrapping this update so part2 will be up this weekend. Thanks again

You are welcome Oggie, I look forward to watching part 2 😃
Wow it looks amazing
Thanks Travis. Always good hearing from you
Great kit. I am looking forward to the Round 2 release of the landspeeder sometime this year.
I had heard that was a possibility just wasnt sure if they were really moving ahead with it. Hopefully they’ll provide better figures and improve surface details by adding in the damage. Sure would also be nice if they included ObiWan and R2. They’d have to modify the model to fit them but it would certainly enhance the kit. Thanks for your compliment and for watching
Very nice job!!! So detailed!!!!
Thank you very much!
👍👍👍👍
thanks Eric
Anyone else have sound issues with segment that begins @ 2:50?
I placed a subtitle at 2:50 noting a problem with the sound in that part of the video. i tried using a different mic for this narration and it turned out the sound recorded as mono vs stereo?? Ended up switching back to my other mic for the rest of the video. The description was too long to re-record so it was left as is. Sorry about any confusion
Oggie, you make it look so easy, but I have a Challenge for you. I'd like like to see yo add your likeness to a figure for a Sci-Fi figure.
Lol....may have to try that some time. Thanks Pete. Appreciate you watching
Nice work on a cool kit, Lou is the man when it comes to the masking, seems like work always gets in the way of our
modeling as I'm in the process
of building the bench work for
an Nscale layout and my Semi
keeps calling my name Oggie!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks so much for your kind compliments. And yes....Lou is the man for sure.
good job, as usual. I have a few Revell models (they sell here Down Under) and I'm always shocked by the horrible quality of their kits.
Thanks David
The picture may show a round steering wheel, but i'm almost positive that in the movie he had a aircraft style setup. :)
yes all the pics I've seen from the movie show an aircraft style as you said. I'm glad he included that change with the figures
I couldn't help but notice that C3PO with his printing supports looked like he was on his Ewok throne.
Lol..yep
Speeder isn't a bad kit, but was originally sold as a repainted kit, which wasn't very good.
Hopefully will look good with some solid weathering and modifications
Great progress so far, I'm looking forward to the end result as your diaramas are always impressive.
@@InterstellarModeler I'm sure your build will be 100 times better the terrible paint work on the prepainted version. Which sadly I have in my stash.
Revell has an interesting business strategy of not selling their kits outside of Europe, it seems. Can't get any of their models here in Japan. It's an . . . interesting decision, given their financial difficulties.
Yeah I always felt the same but it might have something to do with licenses. That would be my guess
What percentage did you print the storm troopers at?
Sorry for the late reply. I dont recall the percentage I printed them at. I checked and the troopers ended up being 88.22 mm high. Hope that helps
Don't forget Luke is shorter than the average Stormtrooper
Lol.....yep that is for sure. As a fellow short guy, I feel his pain too Lol. Thanks for watching
Haha! A Cockney Obi Wan!
Lol, thanks for watching
for price of the figure he should done what you said pull the supports before cure, JUST plain lazy
Yep, I know what you mean. I have to admit this is why I have no interest in selling 3Dprints because of the involved with clean up, curing and then having to snip off supports, ugh, no thank you Lol. Fortunate for me this wasn’t a huge problem and hopefully my demo will be enough for those without experience. Thanks for watching. Always good to hear from you.
