For my one or two cruises each year, I go to the Yacht Club (or Disney Concierge) to get the luxury & exclusivity in order to maximize my vacation time, money, and experience. As you guys mentioned early in the video, the Yacht Club saves time - time spent in line, time waiting for drinks, time embarking/disembarking the ship at each port, etc. The Yacht Club stretches my vacation dollar to the maximum amount of time allowable. The YC crew members we’ve met since we started cruising with MSC in 2016 have watched our children grow up and they are truly our friends now. And could I cruise 4 times a year not in the Yacht Club, sure. Hey Dave. The price they offered you was right about the price we got offered on Seashore. While it is still a great price for YC, it was outside our budget. Our way of thinking is to book or bid the experience you want to have on the ship. Oh the jealousy & envy is real with respect to Yacht Club cruisers. I don't get it either; it's like sitting in traffic and you see a guy in the car next to you in a BMW and you're in a Chevy. But, you're going to feel some kinda way about the guy in the BMW! Or the people in first class on the plane while you're in row 30! I mean, C'MON people are you serious!?
I don't think, that you got the point. For me, as a classic 7-series driver (I own a 5-Series E61 too) it is - for real - about the comfort. Sitting in a traffic jam in a car, which is whisper quiet, well air conditioned, well built (especially for the E38!) and comfy is a whole other story, than sitting in a car, who wants to be like a BMW. Don't get me wrong: I am maybe one of the few german folks, who love american cars a lot and I didn't think any other like you do, until I drove my E38 for the first time. The very same with First Class or at least Business Class: It is all about the comfort and the fact, that you can even stretch your legs or do not have somebody benath you, who is interfering your personal space and this is exactly the reason why people book classes like this or drive 7-series BMW. For me? I booked 2 weeks Norwegian Cruise with MSC in the Yacht Club, because it is my first real vacation since 30 years and I just want to relax at a maximum...because I would hate it to pay a lot of money, for waiting in line for at least 45min...I just want to relax and if I want to have the time to sit and relax on a deck chair and read a book. Because I did not have any free time to do so for the last years.
Question for you… have you ever felt the need to take off the YC band or keep in on the down low when you are out in the rest of the ship? Or not used a butler so you wouldn’t stand out? We just went on our merry way and didn’t hide our band but didn’t flaunt it either. Just curious
@@Taste-Try-Travel Must say, that I will have my first cruise in roughly one year...but, why hiding it and do not use the services you got. In doubt, jealous people will always be in the place and I am quiet sure, that on my cruise through Norway there are also many who think "Wow, he can afford it. Why not? There will be good reasons, why he can afford it and it seems so, that he have a lot of fun!". Something else is it, when you are flexing with it...just depends on what kind of person you are, it is really not my style and if sticking to any luxury, I would stick always to the silent one and will always treat people like I wanted to be treated. So...long story short: No hiding planned and if I wanted to have my butler involve in other parts of the ship...I will do it! 🙂Have a lovely weekend!
@@Taste-Try-Travel No I have never had the feeling to do that. On two of our YC cruises, our wristbands didn't have the Yacht Club logo on it. For me, it's not about flashing it around for everybody to "Get out of my way because I'm in the Yacht Club!" **omnipotent voiceover off** The Yacht Club has become my little slice of paradise for a week or two. On several cruises, we have only left the YC section of the ship to disembark in port and dinner at Butcher's Cut. I don't give a second thought about what other people might think about me being in the YC; they can too - it's available for everyone to purchase.

I thought umbrellas were free for yacht club guests 🤔
@ElizabethLopez-zk9ud they are… we were talking about non-YC just for the umbrellas then we started talking about YC things after that 😊
Yeah, I love MSC but that's a foul tactic. The old "beach umbrella up the tail pipe" trick.
@@fredfolson5355 Ha! 😂
For me, it's not about flashing it around for everybody to "Get out of my way because I'm in the Yacht Club!" **omnipotent voiceover off**
The Yacht Club has become my little slice of paradise for a week or two. On several cruises, we have only left the YC section of the ship to disembark in port and dinner at Butcher's Cut. I don't give a second thought about what other people might think about me being in the YC; they can too - it's available for everyone to purchase.
Still surprises me that in the US the price you see on the shelf isn’t the price you pay, because tax(es) need to be added at the till. Even in countries like South Africa you’ve had the final price on the shelf since the 80s already
Hi. Since the California law passed… that has changed now. The price you see for cruises includes taxes and port fees. The only thing you won’t see included are the gratuities 😊😊
@@Taste-Try-Travel is that just for cruises or everything you buy like groceries?
@@farab4391 so the law was passed in California. Not sure all that it applies to but because some cruises went out of that state, all cruise lines, even those like MSC who don’t cruise out of there, still chose to adopt that rule. I’m sure other states will pick it up and then things like groceries will change to it.
