As a hunter with 30 years experience in the woods I can tell you it's impossible to know what you may encounter.
I leased a place for 26 years without ever seeing a coyote, no prints, scat, no game cam pictures nothing. One of the older gentlemen who had least the land for 50 years had never seen one either not one of the eight hunters had ever encountered one. In my last season on the place one of the hunters on the place shot and killed a coyote. If a group of pack animals could evade detection for half a century under the eyes of a half dozen or more experienced hunters what could an ape of much higher intelligence do?
Large mature bucks can be like ghosts you might glimpse them once only to never see them again. Whats more deer know when deer season is. In the summer months they will show far less fear of man then during the fall and winter. A creature of ape like intellect would be far more elusive and wary of humans specially if humans in the past had hunted or threatened them.
One last bit of my experience hunting in the wild. In West Texas I encountered a large mountain lion up close in the near dark of the evening. It was so close I drew my .357 magnum instead of trying to use my rifle. The cat which fled into the brush left of the road I was walking on it was dead fucking silent. Not even a whisper of sound was made as it ran over the loose rocks and into the brush leaving me alone in the road. That was the longest walk I ever had to make 200 yards to the truck knowing the cat could move without a sound and see far better than I could as the light slowly faded.
I cannot discount Bigfoot because I know just how easy it is for animals to stay hidden from humans with minimal effort.
Walking up on a mountain lion is scary stuff. They have red glowing eyes at night when shinning a flashlight at them. I was at the bottom of a creek bed, the cat was just above me on ravine, it could have easily pounced on me. Like you said, it finally turned and leaped away, and I couldn't hear any noise. I slowly backed away and started walking back to truck, stopping every few steps to turn around and listen. Scary stuff when you know you could become the hunted. They are like ghosts in the woods
I agree with your hunting example . Years back my bubby and I were hunting grouse in the mountains around here. We were in a logged off clearing with small huckleberry bushes alder saplings and small willows. My eyes at 21 was very good my pal was about the same age but he whispers to me look there s one over by the Hemlock stump. I peered and focused but saw nothing . The willow grouse blended into surroundings he took a shot with his 22 short rifle and it fluttered up a foot and then fell dead. The bird was about 25 away we walked over it by it a few times but it was stil blending in with its surroundings.. After a few head scratching minutes we found it .
Killing animals for fun is sick!!
A Puma is such a beautiful creatures,be happy you saw one in its natural habitat but dont hunt them!! Sick!
@@berndmayer1765 He didn't say he shot at the catamount, now did he? No, he didn't. He did however draw a sidearm when meeting an alpha predator on his own turf, just in case it wanted to dispute his existance. Everybody decided "today, I let you live", but don't kid yourself that catamount can and have killed humans, it's easy. As for hunting something like a deer, which is sick? A fast, mostly painless death because humans have replaced the alpha predators our ancestors hunted out to protect their herds, or starving and getting sick from eatting trash until staggering in front of a semi? Because hippy dippy BS aside, deer will eat out compete other animals, killing those other animals or forcing them out, while the deer become big, destructive things like 150 pound mice. This isn't for fun. It's to repair the balance. A hunter eats what he kills, or donates the meat, and makes use of the hide or sells it to someone who can. If you think that is sick, well, like most liberals you accuse others of having traits that better describe you. NOT trying to fix the environment is sick. Feeling holier than thou as prey breeds itself into famine is diseased.
I am no hunter. But what I get a kick out of when there is someone with your experience and knowledge of the area and animals and then out of the blue, you didn't see what you saw. It must have been something else. Now multiply that by thousands. It is not possible for that many individuals with the experience that hunters have in their areas to misidentify a creature that many times.
I am a millwright by trade. I know what I am looking at in my field. Then to have someone with virtually no knowledge of my field come tell me that's not how you do that job. But, that is exactly what these experienced hunters have to deal with whenever something like this pops up. It is a crazy way that some people think like that.
The snow leopard is rarely seen by humans so Imagine something with this ability of stealth with the added factor of human like intelligence.
Not only that but add in MILES of woods and skin/hair being the same color as the woods around you…it’s not too crazy to imagine
But it is seen. And filmed. And in Zoos.
And human, who actively try to hide are found as well.

I've spent a lot of time in the woods over my 52 year span, hunting, camping, hiking, fishing. There's plenty of deer in NB Canada where I live and I've only found a half dozen deer skeletons, none of them intact and only one that I couldn't say for sure if it didn't involve human interaction (near a road, broken long bones, bullet damage). There's a healthy bear population here too, and I've only randomly seen a bear on a handful of occasions, and never found a bone that I know was from a bear. Using the "never found a body" logic would mean there's no bears here at all.
Any evidence of flint napping? Stone axes? Were the deer butchered? Were bones gnawed, split open, or harvested for marrow?
Umm check right after/during snowmelt. You’ll find tons of bones.
And I’ve definitely found droppings from nearly every species in the areas I hunt…
@@dawgface898 A Hibagon (Japanese bigfoot) was found after the thaw by a farmer. 2017. Pretty interesting
While riding my bike around my neighborhood a deer jumped over a fence and landed two feet in front of my bike. It was close enough to touch it, we kind of just stood there for a second before it ran off. Wild turkeys once surrounded my car and were pecking at it and I had to kick them away. Mind you, my uncle had been hunting all his life for wild turkeys unsuccessfully and I had a chance to literally reach out my car window and strangle one. I have a pack of no less than 20 vultures just sitting on my roof in the summer. The largest of them being easily bigger than a chocolate lab. They just hang out there and take off when they spot roadkill. Sometimes in the summer if I open the blinds on the sliding door to the backyard, deer will come up to the door and watch TV.
I've asked HUNDREDS of outdoorsmen and hunters if they've ever seen a mountain lion carcass or skull. There are tens of thousands of mountain lions all over the Intermountain, Pacific Northwest and California - and I've hunted my entire life in Montana and Utah where there are A LOT of cats and only seen one. To my knowledge NO ONE has ever found a mountain lion carcass or bones. Just as Bob says here - apply some simple statistics to that and the odds of finding sasquatch bones becomes impossible.
Bob, I miss you like an old flame. Without your knowledge and guidance I'm descending into darkness and am resorting to rewatching old videos thinking of days gone by. I went to the doctor to get withdraw medication from not hearing your sweet sweet voice and incredible humor along with the wonderful artwork that let's me glimpse into your mind. I enjoy good storytellers and this page. Personally feel bigfoot went extinct 25/30 years ago.
Found some interesting information:
The term “ man stealer “ used by the Indians in Oregon around the 1840’s - to describe a bigfoot type creature, is the the same exact description used by the Alaska Natives around Portlock Alaska, during the same period. The Hairy - man like - creature was called Nantinaq - which is translated as
“Man Stealer “
From 1900 - 1950 ( approximately )
Settlers in Portlock Alaska were terrorized and human remains found that,
( whatever killed them ) tore the victims limb from limb. The Village of Portlock was abandoned- never to be resettled.

Whether the Portlock incident is true or not, has no bearing on the Native American stories of the Nantinaq - also called the
" man stealer " These stories of the Nantinaq go back to the early 1800's, if not before.
I still find it quite intriguing that TWO separate Indian Tribes, nearly ,3000 Kilometers ( or roughly 1,800 miles apart )
describe a large hairy creature, and call it " Man Stealer "

Is it a coincidence that we have two areas, Oregon & Alaska- and the Indian tribes from both locations had “ man stealer “ as the description of the creature in question ?

I’m 55 and live in the UK my wife and I absolutely love the US and I have lost count how many holidays over the years we have spent travelling your great nation. My granddad was an American citizen and spent many hours telling me stories about his adventures across the pond, I guess that’s where my love for the US came from.
I’ve never given bigfoot much thought whilst travelling through the national parks over the years I’ve always been open minded about it but if I’m honest I would be a person who needed proof, I sort of thought there must be something going on otherwise it’s the biggest con the world has even known but it never deterred me from exploring. I’ve been travelling to US since 1989 and have never had any encounters and I’ve been to over 30 states now.
Florida has always been somewhere we have always loved people mistake it for just the attractions but it is very much more than that the wildlife is just amazing you can literally find yourself in the middle of nowhere within a 10 minute drive of serious infrastructure. It was love at first sight really and we decided early on that we were going to spend a lot of time there.
In 2016 in preparation for my retirement which I planned will be sometime in 2021/2 we decided to buy a home in central Florida which we did I took my son, his wife and two grandchildren with me, we purchased a fabulous home in a gated community in an areas called Poinciana and had a great holiday as well. We sat around the night of the purchase celebrating and planned many family holidays it was a very special time for me, my family around me a second home in Florida a place I just felt at home in, what more could I ask for.
The reason we picked Poinciana was because it was far enough away from the attractions but close enough if you felt the urge, you know for the grandkids and extended family. When you look at it on google earth it looks like it’s in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature and that’s what I wanted. The community its self-had all the amenities you would need and the most important thing for me lots of trails in and out of the community. In the UK you just don’t get this, houses literally on the verge of wild nature.
It was on one of these trails outside the community that my life changed forever and not for the good by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve only told this story to my wife , my son and a few close friends who all basically thought I was mad and mocked me in a nice way but it made me realise that people have a hard time accepting this sort of thing, hell I’ve already said I would need proof so why would they be any different. My wife refuses to talk about it anymore I think she believes but the thought of this being true is too much for her to comprehend.
If was about 5pm a very warm June day I had been doing some minor decorating tasks on the new home everyone else had gone to the attractions for the day but I had to get this work completed as I wanted to get the home on the rental market before we left in the next few day to head back to the UK. I was itching to explore, I fancied myself as a bit of a bushman at one with nature and all that! I took some water and headed out the back of the property and headed for the nature area. It was very easy to find and very easy to transition into what I considered to be wild Florida, trails running as far as the eye can see with heavy tree, plant and water coverage either side. I thought I would have a walk down one of them hoping to see an alligator or even a python! I remember feeling so happy and contented with myself, after all I had just realised a dream and the thought of spending lots of time here was almost over whelming. I had been walking for no more than 10 minutes when I heard what can only be described as a low moan coming from my left I slowed down then without warning it stepped out onto the trail. Nothing prepares you for this I don’t care what people say I was absolutely terrified. It was about 50 yards in front of me, at first I didn’t think it saw me as it looked across the trail to the other side, then it turned its head towards me followed quickly by its whole body almost in one motion and let out what I can only describe as a low deep prolonged growl. My wife loves horror films I think they are stupid as I always say you would just run if a monster was coming so I could never take them seriously. Let me tell you I couldn’t move my legs they felt like lead and my blood ran cold in that split second my life flashed in front of me I thought I’m a dead man simple as that.
I’m 6 feet 2 inches tall, 220lbs and in good shape this thing wasn’t much taller than me but it was so wide, I mean wide and thick set I estimated it must have been 500lbs or more. It had good muscle definition and fairly long hair it looked at me with what I can only describe as contempt. Its face looked like a caveman. Just as fast as it had stepped out it turned and stepped the other side of the trail and was gone. I turned around not quite believing what I had just seen and started to walk back looking over my shoulder every few seconds. It sounds strange but I was physically drained I could hardly walk let alone run after a few minutes I had to stop. I dropped to my knees and vomited. I was in a real mess I just couldn’t believe what just happened.
This encounter has had a very negative affect on me it’s opened up a whole new world simple because if bigfoot exists which it does then other cryptid may exist things like dogman, ghosts things that go bump in the night? I’ve gone from being an outgoing person to someone who looks over their shoulder all the time. My wife keeps ponies and I will not go and check on them in the dark, simple as that. I’ve not been back to the US for 4 years we were planning a trip to the Smokey mountains this year but COVID -19 has put a stop to that and I’m actually glad it has. The thought of going to the Smokey mountains feels me with dread and fear even now 4 years on and with some therapy.
In 2018 I seeked help to try and overcome this as it was dominating my life, obsession is a strong word but that best describes how I felt about it. There wasn’t a week that I didn’t have a serious nightmare about this thing it’s like my life changed that day forever. I was worried that I may be ridiculed but the therapist was actually brilliant. The irony is us Brits think going to therapy is an American thing and here I am doing it! The therapist really helped me come to terms with it she said whatever I saw stripped away my innocence’s the paradigm I had built up over my life was gone and the world was a scary place. I’ve let it get into my head and I need to think of it as just an animal, albeit a very rare animal. She helped me look at the encounter as a privilege that many people would love to have.
I’m in a better place now but still need time before I venture to the US again. As I sit in my garden (yard) and gaze up at the night sky I know they are out there and some people may have suffered horrifically at their hands. That look in its face will never leave me I know these things can cause serious harm.
Amazing story, what the therapist said is true it is rare and a privilege.. but also you could have been killed horribly so I dont blame you for being freaked out!

@@johngarrett7861 Truly terrifying I fully understand why you were so affected; I assume you were unarmed at the time? I will never go into remote or even semi-remote areas without a powerful side arm, at least a 44 magnum, a 50 cal Smith and Wesson even better! I do suspect people have been taken by this species; in the same way chimps hunt for meat being, like us, omnivorous!
Hearing a branch breaking at or above eyelevel has a WAYYYYU different feel then hearing a brach breaking on the ground, because our brain knows that ground breaks are normal, but it also knows that branches at eyelevel or above aren't suppose to break

Bob: I had experience as a kid (age-9) with a Bigfoot while camping in western Pa in a tent with my cousin's & brother, all of us within a few years of each other. It tried reaching in & grabbing one of us (namely-me)... / When the sun came up about 40-mins later, we ran to our parent's in the farm house down from the field we were in. Needless to say, they didn't believe us... / Police were called a week later to an area down the road where an elderly couple lived after reporting seeing a large, dark, "hairy-man" run off with their dog. Track's were found & an Anthropologist from the local University made a cast and later went on the news saying this could be the tracks of a possible "Bigfoot"... / My parents and I watched that news broadcast together & afterward my father said "you're never allowed to go camping in that field again" 😅 / All the best, brother...& keep-on keeping-on!...You're on the right "track" 👣
i was never very good at rolling the d20 in D&D. Once, I rolled four 1's in a row. I pretty much gave up the game after that. The dungeon master was probably a bigfoot but this happened before I knew what bigfoot was. I only remember he was very large and hairy and grunted a lot. All jokes aside, people are seeing something in the woods and I don't believe they're all lying. If it's not bigfoot, it's something. It would be amazing to find a new large animal species even if it was a deer-like thing, much less a primate.

I rolled so many 20s one game session, my DM took all my dice and threw them in the toilet. It got pretty outrageous after a while too... I declared I was going to shoot a T-Rex in the eye with a crossbow and demanded that it count as a coup-de-grace if I hit. This was back in 3rd edition. My DM (who was already extremely flustered with me) said that he would let it happen but if I missed I would get no xp for that day, and I would have to roll back to back 20s to hit. He was being facetious of course. Guess what happened next. The cheers that went up from the other guys were so loud that it startled me a little, and my man snatched up my dice and dumped em in before we even stopped laughing. It didn't kill the T-Rex, it only lost a chunk of hp and had to make a fortitude check or die (it passed - because it was a T-rex), but that didn't matter. I took them out of the toilet, of course, and still have them in a little velvet pouch. I call them my Piss Dice and they have been honorably retired from play.
So yes, Bigfoot exists!

Two relevant stories to this video:
I’m an environmental scientist, and while studying the endangered black rail (a small marsh bird) on the Mississippi coast, I found the only recorded individual in the state in more than a decade. They were thought to have been locally extirpated. My team and I combed the marsh for 3 months, focusing on ideal habitat, and found one bird. We never even saw it - it ran circles around us beneath the matted grass without showing even a feather. Had it not called continuously for nearly 20 minutes, we’d never have known it was there. When rare animals do not want to be seen, they rarely are.
While swimming off the coast of Sanibel Island, Florida, I was snuck up on by not one but two false killer whales, each roughly 16-20 feet long and weighing nearly two tons. I had no idea until they were nearly on top of me, and I swam for shore at a sprint thinking a shark was after me. The mere idea that an animal as long as an elephant and as heavy as a hippo snuck up on me in water I could nearly stand in makes it easy for me to believe that a large, intelligent animal camouflaged and practiced at stealth could sneak up on me in the forest, or watch without being seen.
Your work contains, IMHO, by far and away, the best analyses of probabilities regarding the subject.

I watch your channel because I'm a writer who's studied comparative mythologies, religions and folklore for the better part of 20 years, alongside holding an amateur interest in Hominins and Hominids. An interest I developed partly as an amateur artist.
I'm also fascinated by history, anthropology and archaeology.
All of these fields hold fragments of information and data that correlates with the possibilities presented.
And you're probably one of the best speakers I've encountered regarding this topic, with you articulating many arguments and points of fact that I've utilized myself, due to my own research.
Its refreshing to encounter other minds be it by your content or those interacting in the comment section.
There is nothing fantastical about these possibilities.. people of the West honestly live in a fantastical bubble shaped by their fantastical media, more so than they experience the fringe realms to reality.

I’m in red deer AB. Some creepy stuff here too. Walking my dogs at 1-4am, sometimes so weird stuff happens. For sure things in the bushes. Lots of deer but sometime some real unexplainable things happen. I was filming a video about 4 years ago by a swamp for my friends channel (he doesn’t upload anymore) I parked my car at the trail parking lot. We do the video for like 2 hours at the swamp. It has a wooden dock thing, it’s nice in the day. This was at about 12-2am. Nothing strange happened at the video, but when walking back to the car, as soon as we were close enough along the path to see the opening of the car parking lot and my car, big crashing tree sounds started happened and huge snapping sounds. It honestly sounded huge. My friend was losing his mind scared, he was about to run back to the swamp I told him to stay and keep the ground. We stood there scared and I said it might be a bear and he said there’s no way it’s a bear (sounded huge) we started to yell from a distance because it was doing this noise in the trees exactly I front of where my car was parked. We were looking towards the back end of my car aprox 100ft away and the noises was happening in the trees by my cars hood. The noise didn’t stop and it sounded like it was walking or pacing around(not walking, but moving about 10-15 feet left and right from my car back and forth) I made my car alarm go off with my fob and it didn’t do anything to stop the noise. It did this for nearly 15 minutes before we decided to just run to my car and get Iinside. There was no other way to go except into the forest or passed my car anyways to the road. We ran in started the car and backed out. Couldn’t see anything when the lights were on. After reversing we stopped before driving off out of the parking lot, we rolled windows down and it was still making the noise, then we left still scared. That was the scariest thing to ever happen. But I’ve also had strange things happen walking my dogs, nothing that intense though. Edit: when I say it sounded huge I mean it sounded tall. It was very big. The sound of the trees sounded like it was coming from midway up the trees or something. In my brain I just pictured something very tall making the sounds and I’m guessing that’s why my friend didn’t think it was a bear. He knew it was big and bears are probably the biggest out here. Maybe elk or something, but it was big, and tall.
Further edit: we had an expensive decor camera with mounted mic, and a light because we were filming a video, and we were way to scared to even think to turn on the camera. For 15 solid minutes not once did we think to record. Honestly my friend as soon as the crashing happens he jumped backwards and turned to run. I had to grab him. I did this because at the time I heard to not run if you encounter a bear. Plus I didn’t want to get split up and alone with this”thing” in the woods. Imagine he takes off running and now he’s alone and I’m alone…
Anyways we didn’t turn on the camera once, and filming was fresh in our minds, we just finished filming his video for 2 hours. We were on top alert. Any thought to camera was discarded out of fear that something big and maybe dangerous was about to run out at any second toward us.
Besides your subject matter, which I greatlyenjoy, i have to applaud your ability to present complex ideas with such facility. I was explaining your presentation skills to a friend and I mentioned you were like a "Tetris master of ideas." The way you're able to separate your message into understandable blocks, submitted for consideration at the appropriate time and sequence is unmatched on UA-cam.....in my opinion.
Bob, are you aware slugs eat bones?
I wasn't until this year.
Fighting the slug population in the foot hills of the Olympics here in Washington can be very daunting.
While bagging them for the fire I noticed a large group had covered a dead mouse a distance from my garden and trails of them headed that way.
I thought, well if they're all going in the opposite direction from my garden, then maybe that's a good thing.
Our three very busy cats leave a lot of dead carcasses about, I usually toss them into the woods, out of sight, out of mind.
A bit weathered from slug patrol, I thought I'd allow the slugs to continue their trek.
Next day while walking past the dead mouse, I noticed something peculiar.
During the night slug fest, they managed to devourer the entire mouse except for the hair and bones which were very clean, much like what maggots would leave behind.
I figured I'd give it one more night to see if they return.
That night from my deck, I shone my spot light down into the yard to see a huge group covering the mouse bone/hair carcass.
Next day I went to explore what they had done and there wasn't even a hair left behind.
That got me to thinking about the dead animals I'd seen as a kid, along the road, in different stages of decay and maggot habitat. Everything was eaten but the bones and hair.
It never accorded to me that latter the bones and hair had disappeared.
In fact, thinking back, I can't remember ever seeing the bones and hair again and again as I'd travel that beaten path. Out of sight, out of mind.
I realize, that other animals like to gnaw on bones for their calcium but hair, where did all the hair go?
From what I've observed, I'd say the slugs.
And food for scary thought, if they were around during the cretaceous period, how big were they?
Slugs do not have shells and therefore do not need to consume large amounts of calcium. They were probably sucking up whatever leftover sinews and juices and other bodily bits left around the bones, and the bones probably disappeared from some larger animal disturbing the skeleton/carcass
@Boxelder Initiative Also bone is an extremely strong material and it takes jaws and acid to digest and most of it will pass through digestion without being absorbed. The nutrition animals want is in the marrow. Slugs/worms literally have no way to eat bone - they could have been after the marrow but the bones would remain. The hair could absolutely have been eaten by slugs but other inverts and microbes would have been there to help.
I learned that a slug was sneaking around my living room and eating trace amounts of ash from my wood stove. I was stunned. I live in a trashy single wide trailer on a fixer upper property. So I don't bother keeping a clean house because it will be demolished soon. I noticed slug trails around my wood stove and realized it was eating ash. It's simple carbon compounds.... Much like sugar.....😆
I disagree with the commentors who say slugs don't eat bones. That slime is an acidic substance for 1. They eat cat and dog food. Dead birds and rodents along with other insects and microorganisms helping to diminish the rest. You worded that incorrectly. Even the Gigantopithecus only left behind some teeth and a part of a jaw bone and scientists were able to not only prove it's existence but deduce a ton of info about it. Why would the Governments not want it to get out to the public that Sasquatch is real in a forest near you? For the same reason they haven't admitted to UFOs or aliens!

River pebbles thrown hitting the house and bouncing to the deck.

Numerous occasions this has happened.
Over 12 pebbles thrown.
One time we, 4 of us fired varies firearms into the woods. We've even used night vision and seen nothing. Rocks still came at us. A bird would be seen and evident. We've looked. The instances have gone on for about an hour each time.
Must be invisible hillbillies because that's more likely than a creature not yet discovered.

I have NEVER seen one! Although I have heard one make a call on two separate occasions months and 100's of miles apart.
Nothing else can sustain a call for as long as big foot. It goes on in one breath. Nothing else has the lung capacity Nothing, not a rino, Elephant, tiger, bear, hippo, nothing. The after effect on ALL of the creatures of the forest is complete silence. Their collective respect is awe inspiring. Everything, insects, birds, fish, big wild cats, large mammals my self and my shipmates included.
That bit you said about human population skewing the statistics on Bigfoot sightings is actually something I had thought of as well. That's why I made a map of Bigfoot sightings per capita, and I think that is much more enlightening, since while it doesn't negate all of the factors you discussed, it does cancel out human population as a factor. @@H1TM4N916 twice. Both times, I wasn't the only witness, or I might have though it was just my imagination. I live in Washington State. My sister and I both saw one bolt across the front yard in 2006 and a chaperone and I heard two of them calling to each other late at night during a camping trip to the Olympic Peninsula in 2010. The first one lasted a split second but the second one lasted for quite some time, at least twenty minutes and maybe up to an hour. I was a kid both times and they left me paranoid about Bigfoot for years afterwards and even a little to this day, but I never saw or heard anything that I could definitively say was Bigfoot ever since.
That's why Bob's videos are so endearing to me. For years, I didn't know how Bigfoot could exist, just that it did, and it bothered me to no end. Now I do know and it doesn't bother me at all. A lot of his hypotheses and speculations demand good faith to accept, but I don't need faith, because Bigfoot's existence has already been proven to me. His videos simply eliminate confusion on the matter.

Cognitive dissonance,, yup. Been there done that. I'm glad to hear of your ongoing reconciliation nugnug. For me, I found relief in getting back out there, getting back on the horse so to speak. It's not for everyone, the whole going back to the "scene of the crime", to try to get more interactions from whatever these things are. But it works for me.

Hi Bob, you have a great outlook. Most people are oblivious to anything other than themselves.
I remember having a conversation about hiking with a small group of city folk were going to head out for a 15 mile hike (one way) and just take a couple of hours to ‘knock it out’ and head home by early afternoon. The first thing I did was ask; So, 30 miles in 5 hours in this heat then? Over rough ground with sharp rocks, several inclines, drop-offs, switchbacks with individuals who have only walked in parking lots or sidewalks? Answer: we have water and snacks. So to let them keep their dignity, I suggested a fun 1.5 mile loop on mostly flat ground to enjoy their time outdoors. Fortunately they chose to do that instead.
Most do not understand the outdoors and the vastness of it. You could hide almost anything out here in the PacificNorthwest. I remember setting out to find a known airplane wreck in the woods nearby. Even with a map and a decent description of the area and terrain. It was daunting and took hours more than I would have ever thought.
Why not believe? I'm a pretty logical man and I'm not so stubborn to say there no chance of a upright walking mammal living in the vast forests of the beautiful mother earth! Keep up the good fight Bob. Love your work

One interesting point;
The odds that someone would get 32 rolls of the same number in roulette is actually identical to them getting any other combination of 6 sequential numbers.
And considering millions of roulette rolls happen every day, we should actually be suspicious if this DIDN'T ever happen.
Also interestingly, I think this adds to your overall point.
You can only ever (truly) quantify a probability if you know the entire range of possibilities. In roulette, we know there are 32, hence we can say each (1) roll has a 1/32 chance of being a given number.
But with Bigfoot? We don't know the denominator, because we don't know all the possible outcomes.
We can approach quasi-probability estimates, but people who argue "Bigfoot can't be real because it's statistically impossible" actually don't understand how "statistically impossible" works in real statistics.
Statistically impossible is rolling a 47 on a roulette game.
But we can't even begin to say "statistically probable/improbable" with Bigfoot because we're nowhere close to being able to defend that we've drawn a neat "circle" around every possibility.
Einstien said the only way to win at roulette is to "steal the chips off the table". Of course there are crooked roulette wheels that could possibly land on red more than black.

I think that looking at a thing like roulette where an observable outcome must happen is significantly different statistically than looking at a thing like proof of bigfoot where no outcome is a possibility.

They migrate with the seasons and we had a big fire near us and the night of the fire we lost power and I heard them when they went behind my house and I'm not sure where they are now. We have family property that is half way between winter and summer habitat. They migrate smoothly and slowly between these locations. We've known of them for decades. They travel, Winter at the Pacific coast, and summer in the Cascades in a watershed. From the porch of the home, it is 46 miles to the ocean. There are only three major roads in that path one would have to cross. I'm certain I could walk there in two days and only be detected by dogs, coyotes, sasquatch, and cows. Hearing them is common, especially in the fall. They've been seen in October, twice, 5 years apart, different family members. How bout wet prints (grass dew) on your deck on the morning? How bout slaps on a house when one certain person is away? Yeah . There is much more to this, but I'm not going into it here. They are very real, and it's only a matter of time until this subject is settled.
I'm in massachusetts! They're here! The feeling of experience of sasquatch can't be explained! We who know don't give 2 shits about those that can't get there head out of there ass! Just think of all the missing people each year?!

Something that would let a bigfoot think it is being sufficiently distant and hidden, when it isn’t. I can see them outsmarting us in nature, but they certainly cannot conceive of our every technological advancement. We should use tech more!

Belief in bigfoot is delusion, all perspectives, no matter how weak, can be dug into to some extent by a person of reasonable intelligence. Amazingly spot-on presentation. My own (and so far only) experience happened on Easter Sunday 2013. I was on my second hike in the Severn Run Natural Environment Area, just North of Annapolis, Md - halfway between Washington D.C and Baltimore -. Not exactly wilderness, you'll agree - and an area with several reported BF events posted to the B.F.R.O. website. There were no cars in the parking lot that day, and no indication of other people in the area.
I stopped to pull my compass out of my pocket, unaware I was being observed. I assume if I had kept walking I would of had no reason to suspect this - but my stopping must have seemed to be a threat to my observer. “Crraackk!” - the unmistakable sound of a large limb being ripped off a tree . I froze and listened. A few seconds passed , then another limb was ripped off. A clear warning that I needed to just keep on truckin'.
I smiled, pocketed the compass and continued my hike to the drop-off to the valley. I found a fallen tree where I sat and ate my lunch.
In spite of the aggressive nature of my encounter, I felt no fear - only pleasure that I had found (or been found by) a Bigfoot so quickly in my investigation of the area. Of course, it has not happened since - although I continue to hike that same patch of woods year after tear - especially on Easter Sundays.

Thinking millions of people going into the woods is the same as searching the woods for the unknown is like thinking that millions of people going to the beach is the same as a deep sea research expedition. People do go into the woods but the woods of this world are much deeper than any normal person would be comfortable fully delving into and are very much deep enough to hide many mysteries from the eyes of the public.
I watch a lot of different channels on UA-cam, ranging from Game Theory, Louder with Crowder and several Bigfoot channels and I have to say your comment section is by far the best and most interesting I’ve come across since my 20’s. Hey bob! I have been listening to you for nearly three years now. I did search track and rescue for over five years. I can tell you we have seen very odd things. Even seen ufos and noticed how all my other members didn’t get fazed at all and asked me “first time”? I would reply, yes!!
I don’t know if Bigfoot is real. I do know there is something or more things out there that we may never understand. Before I did search track and rescue in Arizona I would go on super long hikes alone. Now I never go alone and or without a gun. We were even out one time and heard things no one will ever talk about again and seen grown as men and women/ veterans and retired police officers get terrified and run into our tents. We heard weird sounds and whispers and it still makes me get a little emotional talking about it. Please keep posting and never stop what you do. I watch every video you upload.

Excellent presentation. Despite the naysayers and those who doubt these beings exist, I know exactly what I saw, smelt and without a single doubt in my mind and observation skill set as a former Army Ranger and scout who was trained in the specific skill of identifying ones target (s). My entire life was changed that day and I wasn’t in some far off land or a clandestine mission, I was alone walking in the forest in Massachusetts and I saw what people (government )say doesn’t exist.
So there’s that and since we never found those WMD’s I am just going to say don’t trust them to tell me that these beings don’t exist because we don’t have bears on Cape Cod though we did have one a few years ago that was definitely not a BIGFOOT!!
So here’s a proposition that I’ve pondered. If what you have claimed is true, to be a former Army Ranger, have you and any other fellow former Army Rangers have any desire to get together and more or less ‘hunt’ them or even get more definitive proof?
@@The-Cole-Train you would never survive the encounter these beings are masters of their environment and I don’t have a big enough round to take it out nor would I try. From everything I have read and the other people who have had encountered them unless you have nothing short of of a 10 man fire team with air support and fire power that can destroy a armored car, there is no way you would be able to take it down without losing a man or worse. Check out other researchers who have pondered this same idea. These are giants not something that you are going to shoot with hunting rifle. I rather keep my arms and legs where I have them.
@@sargeinamerica I think you're imagining them to be tougher than what's realistically possible. There might be some truth to that if you're using 5.56, but .308 caliber rounds have killed everything on the American continent from small white tail deer to Brown Bear and Moose. And a moose is going to be far larger than a bigfoot. 30-06, .300 Win mag, .300 Weatherby Mag, maybe even just a common .308 would probably be enough to do the job - the hard part would be spotting it before it spotted you so you could line up the shot and get the round off. And I guess getting proof of it, then getting away if it has friends in the area. I can't imagine it's friends/family would be happy about someone shooting one of them.
So I guess I will agree with you that I would not be signing up to shoot one anytime soon either. Not because I think you need AP ammo for the task, but because I'm convinced you'd end up in a sort of primative war against a tribe of them if they're real and you successfully kill one.

I've planted trees in the most remote places in western Canada.I've seen,felt,been fucked with,and have lost all none thought that there isn't a super human out in the bush.I can could give you a village worth of testimony but it don't matter.

I've actually seen a number of very good videos. I used to completely ignore them because I thought it was all just CGI then I learned the parameters of CGI.

@@jarrodclements2870 don't remember which video but Bob showed them crawling. I found this particularly fascinating because of something I had personally seen. I'm of the opinion they can move very fast like this and very silent.

Another great video. I would give anything to share my fathers bigfoot sighting account with you. It's extremely detailed and was actually witnessed by several people. My father is not an irrational person and generally isn't afraid of things. But he will be the 1st to tell you it's one of the scariest things that's ever happened to him. If you are ever interested let me know and I will get a recorded account from him.

These videos are brilliant, Bob truly is a gem. Ive followed cryptozoology since i was in the single digits..as i got older i fell back on the usual canards as to why 'this cant be'. Bob's reasoned, novel and brilliant presentations have made me realize the BF creatures could be/likely are possible

@@rinneganofrage7206 I forget the specific arguments this video makes but the general point is that "bigfoot" is completely inconsistent with the logistics of how megafauna are actually discovered or encountered to the point where it becomes very obvious it is a delusion not a real animal. Additionally Bob's theory of "intelligent as a human but using that mental power for stealth and to stay hidden" doesn't make any sense, which is bad for the whole prospect because the purported existence of bigfoot depends heavily on some miracle mechanic like that.
It's not that it can't be, it's that it's extremely improbable. And it's very easy to see why people believe it.

You keep bringing it up so I will share my little story. Last week my dog and I startled a bald eagle on the riverbank. It's only the second time I've seen one in the wild. The dog was all excited and sniffing around, but, well, he acted the same way when we found a skunk cabbage the week before. Then I heard the whooshing down-beat of large wings and turned to look expecting a heron. White tail, huge wingspan, much dark brown, then the white head as he turned. By the time I registered what I saw it was out of sight. There was no time at all to pull my phone from my pocket, much less wait for the camera to load.
Then when people do manage to get a photo or video of something that they don't know what it is, it's ridiculed. Go try to get a good picture of a deer while you're just out walking around and then get back to me.
