    Please keep the discussions in the comment section respectful, remember that not everybody drinks his coffee black and respect an other persons taste doesn't matter how bad it may sound in your ears.....
    I will start live streaming on youtube as soon as I know how to have a open phone(whatsapp) line so people can discuss and call live in the program about what they want and say, ask ore whatever is in their head at that moment, as long as they are vintage lovers they are welcome to participate in this live streaming show. If people like to have such a live streaming youtube program please let me know and maybe we can do this once a month ore even once a week when i have enough support. We must be happy we live in a time that there is a site like youtube what makes this all possible.

    Lou Rawls, good choice. I found this because I have a Pioneer PL-510A. It is a good looking, well built turntable. Direct drive on this works great. Belt drives are good. Direct drive is better. I'm with you though, I am more of a receiver guy too and playing some albums on turntables can force you to get up and move the needle or listen to songs that are not your favorites. But if you have old records that you want to hear, this is it. Also worth mentioning that I always use a Discwasher on the records before playing them and leave the little liquid droplets on the record when I play the record. I know you were a DJ and sometimes the records, out of necessity, get scratches because you have to move fast and you don't have time to clean the them. I like your review. Good job.

    I bought my pl-510s at a Goodwill in 1999 for 15 bucks. It's still my main turntable, and it is a total babe. I love it.

    Those Harman Kardon twin powers are very good and highly under rated receivers, one of the sweetest sounding and most musical I have had along with my Akai AA1175.
    A great score on that turntable and matching gear enjoy it

    I had this turntable, my first decent quality table. Got stolen in 1982. But this brings back memories. I swore I'd never buy one without a strobe and adjustable speed after getting a BSR piece of junk that ran a half tone fast and made every singer sound like Alvin the chipmunk.

    Great looking TT, I almost bought one too on Marktplaats, but went for too much later. I ended up with a Bose 360 (CEC rebrand?) in mint condition for 40 euro. No need to buy a new and expensive turntable when you can enjoy a nice vintage one. :)

    I like the Lou Rawls. I was hoping you'd play the song 'You'll never find Another Love like mine' so that people could hear the original instead of the version done by Michael Buble in 2010 (not bad, but not as good).

    Hi, I've the same turntable in a similar very good conditions and I love it...is a fantastic vintage Pioneer model (I use it with a Luxman L-230 ampli). I've a question for you...when you use the turntable the speed stability is precise? Mine is a little bit irregular, increases or decreases very little (ear I do not notice) and when i look the strobe I see that never turns precise. You can advise me how to restore? Thank you

    Good day, I picked one up it great shape. The only issue was the faux plastic veneer. I am going to refinish with real veneer. What type of wood grain would you say that is? To me it looks like Red Oak.

      John Batista it could be red oak with a dark stain. It’ll look amazing

    Just got one pioneer pl 510 A. Not sure what’s the difference in between 510 and 510 A. Maybe automatic TT. No cover I paid 140$ US dollars. I thought it was a good deal. It’s a 7 out of 10

    Have a friend who's looking at the pl 510a, can a moving coil cart be connected to this turntable??

    • @olaniyi570
      @olaniyi570 3 роки тому

      Absolutely of course he will need a amp that has a Moving Coil Pre-amp built in or he will need an external phono pre-amp that has Moving Coil capability.

    I love records, but as mentioned before, I can't deal with the pops caused by dust, dirt, and scratches. I also can't deal with having to clean, store, and take utmost care of them 24/7... not my type of hobby. I like FLAC and CD's a lot better. Records also cost an arm and leg if you want to buy new. Beautiful turntable by the way. very nice score!
