Zeze needs to interview an Ex police officer, rather than someone still in the industry. They know there are things they can't say as it will jeopardise their position. An Ex officer would be more transparent as they have nothing to lose.

At the beginning of the video she backs down from her previous closed mindedness which clearly she’s shows me that she speaks from the heart which is needed, however it’s doesn’t really make for a progressive convo when after each person she talks to has to get her to open her mind. With these issues and during these convos, nothing is accomplished when zeze is closed minded and it’s the job of the guest of the show to change her mind. I hope you get what I mean

There's still alot more white police officers. White officers get £1.80 an hour more than black and Asian peers. Including benefits and bonuses. March 2019 just 7% of UK officers, or (8,329), identified as black and minority ethnic (BAME) - and that was the highest proportion since records began. Police chiefs admit they have been too slow to boost diversity in the ranks and still have a long way to go, almost 21 years later.. Id love to ask these 2 there take on Stephen Lawrence?

I know it’s about police... but as an ex prison officer I have never observed racism towards black prisoners or black officers. I have however observed miscommunication and white people getting offended or assuming a black yout is becoming aggressive when they’re eg just talking loud! When it comes to a promotion I feel like many black officers are either happy where they are: lower grades (and do a looot of overtime ->this what I observed) or they lack confidence? Correct me if I’m wrong ☺️
I don’t know about police. But I do think many white, and non British people should be taught about black culture because it really does cause people to misread situations..

A needed interview. Respect for those two officers for taking on that role with all the challenges they must face from Black people and within the force. They seem in denial about the amount of racism that happens from the police and within it but can't lie to do that role u must have to build a lot of resilience against racism at all angles and maybe thats their way of dealing with it. Surprised they didn't touch on the crime that happens in our community and how we as a community need to address that instead of leaving it to the police. We need to support the black officers, im sure in reality they have it harder than us. Like ur shows ZeeZee but didn't like that question about the majority of black people not supporting black police officers. Lets continue to educate and unite as a people.

No. The issue isn't 'identity politics'. Having Black police officers that mistreat Black people the same way other police officers do *will not* mend the relationship between Black people and the police. There needs to be police reform, in the way they act and how they are held accountable, for the 'relationship' between Black people and the police to mend.

    • @Nathalee_
      @Nathalee_ 3 роки тому +1

If this statement was entirely true we would have less profiling as it goes both ways. The same authority would then respect the people who are similar to those involved but they STILL do not.... They don’t RESPECT “Black” people. The people that work there need a total reshuffle and reform... they want “black” people then make sure there is 7 out of 10 who are heads. 7 out of 10 in every department. Instead of 45% “black” it should be 70% because the majority rules in everything in life. ATM When I think of “black” police I think of Stephen in Django.

On all occasions I have cooperated and they do their checks, ask you questions, maybe fine me! 😂 but send you on your way! I think people need to remember that they are doing a job and everything has processes! If you play the game you end up the winner. I actually think it’s a great idea to have more black people serving communities because it will slowly change the whole perspective. Being ignorant doesn’t help or achieve anything. When you’re charged with something, the police must charge you with something that has enough evidence to go to court. So it’s not just an individual officer dictating what charges you’ll face in court.
Yes they can make stuff up but at the end of the day the met will only bring the charges they think are winnable in court to the magistrate.
So if an officer just keeps making stuff up, and the things he’s arresting people for are being thrown out in court that doesn’t make them look any better.
Last thing I’ll say is more time officers are responding to a situation or they’re assigned a specific operation... so the actual arrests aren’t a testament to their specific contribution.

I just want police to act lawful. And Black people need to know our rights. Most change in the government and law has not come from within, but from external forces- civil rights groups, protests, public outrage- so Black people joining the police won't lead to change when they act the same as the racist institution they are joining.
I'm not foolish enough to think that *policing* (not police officers, but how they enact their policies such as who they target for stop and searches) will stop being racist. But I just want them to be held accountable for how they police. But it starts with Black people knowing our rights, and learning the law.

Look up the word engineered concent. The modern and future world will be built on it.

facts. More blacks joining the police force won't stop racial profiling. It's too deep rooted. To solve racial profiling, you have to eliminate racism, and that's obviously impossible.

I don't know why she's saying she grew up in South London like that makes her more relatable. If anything it makes it worse, to have grown up around people that are marginalised and abused by the system then go and join the system yourself, that seems like the ultimate betrayal to me.

But how is the system meant to change if its only ever represented by white males?

There are so many more questions I would've asked...but overall, glad the interview took place. They need to get into primary schools like they used to back in the 80s/90s and encourage students to join if thats the case, instead of profiling the young black boys from early ages.

The fact that she is still a bottom rank officer after 14years shows that institutional racism is still alive and kicking🥊🥊🥊🥊
