Hands in my hair as I am watching this. This video gave me reassurance because the roots to some of my locs are not locing up. It’s in those areas that already had issues before I even started the journey. A few in the back and a few in the front. I absolutely love my locs it’s been almost two years and those few that just aren’t locing have me feeling really insecure.. I don’t get retwist often but I am starting to think that may be the problem. I am a head wrap girly I love covering my head but because of that I do pull my hair up a lot to get the wrap style I want. Maybe I will lay of that a bit. I’m thinking of getting a crochet retwist the next time I go to my stylist but idk 😩
Uuugh! I wish I’d been able to catch this LIVE when it aired! I’m so out of my normal routine care due to my current responsibilities, even though I brush my locs and ALWAYS sleep with loc sock (off my hairline), I have so much loose, fly-away hairs (fine/thin/wavy) that refuse to join their established loc bases. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ You know the drill!
You got me with the ponytail! And I'm over here thinking I'm helping my hair to loc because it's not swinging freely, so I'm not touching it as much. SMH! 🤦🏾♀☺
I have gone as long as 4.5 months between interlocking hoping my locs would lock up. They don’t. Between interlocking sessions I incorporate the new growth by wrapping the frizzy around the closest loc. I was worried this might be too much manipulation. You call this grooming and I love that.
Next month make 1 year and I can honestly say hand in hair syndrome is my weakness. I love my locs so far they’re doing things that’s pretty weird abs cool at the same time but boy I shake them and run my fingers through the end way too much. I’m trying to stop lol
This video gave me so much reassurance. I'm glad that i stopped by, I'm starting to believe that Im retwisting my hair too much now that my hair is about to be 6 months in.... well I started off retwisting my roots biweekly and its refusing to loc, having big gaps at the roots can be a major headache while my ends are really starting to mature. You said it well 👏 it all makes so much sense that it takes time to loc so it should be longer in between retwist cause I'd obviously be tampering undoing the process of it locing while the other parts are already loc'd. Thank you🎉
hi, what does "regularly groom" mean? I am 1 yr in, and learning every day, last RT was Jan 28 :) it's about that time lol, but I love not seeing my scalp!! but yeah what do you mean? Thx!!
Okay it sounds like it’s kinda of normal to have loose roots. Especially on the top of my head, my hair is soft and grows away from my locs very easily. I’m thinking about utilizing crocheting but idk if I should
Can I crochet my roots after one and a half inch, because when my rasta grows I did the crochet too close of the roots and because of that, the roots was but the rasta was soft after a some days and I ripped it of Can someone help me with this problem please ? And my English is not good enough 😁, I fought 😁
I’m so concerned about my locs being unhealthy/damaged. I will be 2 yrs locked March 15 24. I was 4C loose natural before I decided to loc my hair. I struggle with seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp and have suffered with dry scalp/hair and itchy scalp. My locs is sooo frizzy and I wonder if it’s due to damage or what. I also have some straight ends that have me questioning is that normal or a sign of damage. Every time I go to a loctician I’m told my locs are healthy, but I do suffer from lack of moisture. But I feel otherwise about the healthiness of my locs. I hope you can give me some advice. I have yet to find what works for me far as moisturizing my locs.
Get you some 100% Rosemary oil and a spray bottle. Mix the rosemary and water into the spray bottle and spray you hair every morning with it. And I use shea butter and black castor oil to re twist my hair. Hope this helps!
And try to get natural products to wash your hair. I use Native shampoo. A lot of products have alcohol, which drys our hair out. Ready the ingredients of your hair products, all the time
That part about the bonnet! 🫨🫨
I wish i saw this when this video came out. 😭 but i know now! Here’s to my next set ❤ less ponytails
Im glad this popped up on my recommendations because im always like man i twist it up here and its not twisted

I'm a terrible case of hands in hair. I get caught so much that people ask if that's how I got my hair like this (I'm free-forming it 😂😂)

So if my hair grows away from my locs, how often should I retwist?
Cause I usually go two or three months. Lol I'm trying to make sure I'm doing good
I have this same problem
My hair grows away from the loc also. My hair has been loc’d for 21 months and I retwist my hair every 3 to 4 weeks. It works for me.🤷🏽♀️
1/2 inch monthly
1 yes I do

My daughter is 3 mths in and her roots do not wanna loc at the root lol are there any products you suggest?
Also, the friction on your hairline from bonnets will cause hairloss.
I knew before i started i was hand in hair person 1
I learned with my first set.. I'm not touching it at all. No styles my first year, no ponytails or pulling. Just letting them be
Damn she is beautiful
One inch
