I make my tea that way, pretty much...except I boil my tea bags on the stove..I only use Louisiana tea bags..it's my favorite... I really miss you Momma Joyce and that precious laugh..I know you are rejoicing in Heaven...😥💕
I followed Momma Joyce tea recipe and it was perfect! 👌 I am a southern tea drinker too. I pray your family perfect peace and so much joy through her legacy. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for making this video! There’s nothing like Southern Sweet tea. It Hass to be in heaven or I’m not going. You’re so funny and I love the way you describe everything because I can’t see. Some people just expect you to watch the thing and don’t say a word and just play a bunch of crappy music. You do it right! Thanks so much. Love you a bunch, Pam
When I was growing up, we boiled water in a metal pot. Put in the bags and let it steep for a bit. Then the rest was just like you did it. I love me some Lipton. Luzianne tastes spoiled to me. lol. Thank you Momma Joyce!
You’re so cute, Mama Joyce! I just love you. My kids taught me that if you add the hot tea to just the sugar in your pitcher, it melts the sugar so much better. After sugar is melted, add the rest of the water. Also, a pinch of baking soda makes the tea taste even better.
I put sugar in a pitcher, hang bags over the side, fill halfway with boiling water and stir gently. Let steep about 5 minutes and remove tea bags. Vigorously stir in cold water to fill pitcher. Refrigerate. Better next day.
That's how I've always done mine and instead of cold water... add ice. It cools your tea down without making it a watered down mess when you add that warm tea to your ice.
This hit me inside my heart, I miss mama Joyce she was one of a kind. I believe she's in heaven above. I've found another cook I've been following. Her name is Brenda Gantt and she's an ole country cook like you were. You would love her too. I miss you mama Joyce 🙏🙏💖💖
I've always made tea on the stove. We use distilled water also and heat the water with tea bags in it until it reaches the boiling point. We turn the eye off before it actually boils, add a pinch of baking soda to take out any bitter, then let it steep covered for a few minutes. The microwave version looks so easy that I can't wait to try it! Thanks Momma Joyce!
I always made my tea old school too. In the summers, we made “sun tea”, fill up a gallon jar with teabags in it, and set it out on the porch in the morning, and have delicious tea by afternoon. Of course now, with modern conveniences, we have iced tea makers. I love mine. I’ve always used distilled water in it so I wouldn’t get any buildup inside. I didn’t grow up on sweet tea, but I prefer mine sweetened. Lipton makes sweetened tea bags just like the ones you are using. It has Splenda in it, and I find it just right for me. I’m one of those lemon lovers too! Nothing better to quench your thirst than an ice cold glass of iced tea! I live alone, and I can go through a gallon by myself about every 2 days! Love your videos Momma Joyce! God Bless!
I was just gonna make tea the hard way. This is simple, easy. You have the best, not so complicated, with the easiest ingredients ever, for recipes. Thank you Mama Joyce.
I was just wondering how to make iced tea. My 91 year old Mom passed March 12th. It’s sad wanting to call and ask about her recipes. Thank you Momma Joyce🌸😘🌸
Im very sorry to hear of your loss Cynthia. I lost my mama 3 years ago the 28th of this month, and I fully understand about wanting to call and ask about her recipes. She was a very good cook. I still miss her so much! I will pray for comfort and peace for you.
Please continue to be yourself. Do not change how you prepare your recipes. Do not change how you speak. I appreciate your faith in Jesus. Our country heritage is so precious.
Yes Ma'am.. I love this...was taught different. Too a gallon, I took half the water, boiled it, stopped it... added bags to steep. I add 2 and 1/4 cup of sugar. Hey. Add vodka to your cup... Vodka and Sweet Tea is a hangover...lol it's tasty but not recommended lol
I make mine in a coffee pot. I put 4 tea bags in a coffee filter in the basket and pour the water in and let it make. I also put 1 1/2 cups sugar as well and pretty much mix it the way you do only I put the sugar in the hot tea 😊
I do agree purified distilled water makes anything better! In my sweet tea I prefer Lipton and this is totally optional but I add just a pinch of baking soda to my tea and when it starts boiling I turn off the heat and let it steep for a few minutes!
I boil my water in microwave, I put pinch of baking soda , 1/2 cup of sugar and add my tea bags and let it sit 20 mins. Add ice cold water I put in the freezer before I stated. It's real good too. Have a very blessed Easter 👍✌🐇🐤 ⛪
Use Lousiann tea either 2 single bags or 1family bag put some cold water in the bottom boil your tea bags not hard just bring to a boil 1cup of sugar pour your hot tea in becareful makes 1gallon so easy
This comment isn’t for momma Joyce or Marshall. Y’all I watch here because I love her recipes and personality. I don’t like to read people telling how they make it better or how they do it differently. If your ideas are different then start your own channel. IMO

Soooooo glad she had fun❤️ and she has an adorable lil kitchen. Now I want some lemon tea.

Add just a small pinch of salt, baking soda,my grandma did this brings tannin. Out. No bad taste.

My grandma use to make her tea with half sugar and half saccrin tablets....best tea I ever had!

Thanks for the sweet tea recipe, Mama Joyce. I hope you and your family are safe and well!
My tea is almost exactly her recipe.. I would love to have a big glass of her tea. Just love watching you guys & learning your wisdom.

I didn't know about the Splenda sweetened tea bags. Good to know, I'm diabetic and use Splenda or Truvia.
I have to use Splenda in place of sugar too..it's not bad once you get use to it..
Love you so much and you have my prayers!!!
I was just gonna make tea the hard way. This is simple, easy. You have the best, not so complicated, with the easiest ingredients ever, for recipes. Thank you Mama Joyce.

I never thought of the microwave. We always just boil the water on the stove. Have a pot that is just for the tea. Perfectly half a gallon. Lol

What does the baking soda do?
@@heatheralsobrooks3079 it stops it from getting cloudy. Softens the water
@@harleydancer9045 oh how cool. Thanks for sharing.
Hi mama Joyce love iced tea too just unsweetened hope same would do me good but no sugar added
If any food or drink is made by a southern grandma you know it's going to be good. 😂
I sure do miss your mama
Happy Easter Momma. God bless you and the family. 💕
Yum

Have you tried putting your sugar in the hot water to resolve the sugar better. Love sweet tea.
Hello all! Did you use distilled water on the microwave part, too? Glad to see you are all safe and healthy. Thank you for your videos!! 🥰
Yes, Using tap water theoretically will effect the taste although Ive used tap water and havent noticed much difference at all.
💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Have ever tried homemade suntea, my boys use to love it. Glass jar is best but I've used plastic milk type jug too
What state are y’all in? Love the southern accent
RIP Momma that’s an easy way to do sweet tea
❤❤
I'd tell my granny that tea sure is good. And she'd say it oughta be, I put 2 cups of sugar in it lol.
Hope yall are safe cant wait till next video
I make my tea the same except I boil it on the stove top
I put 1 cup of sugar, it is sweet for me. I don't like to much sugar.

never made my tea in the microwave, I always made mine on stove. have u ever put baking soda in ya tea ? my mama always did
Just add lemon and we are set
Is she going to do a pie crust video?
No matter wat I do I cannot make decent iced tea help!
Kathy..We believe the secret in making Great tea is to Not use tap water with all that chlorine in it..You distilled or purified~Marshall
Ok I can book some for 15 min to get clean water
I don’t like lemon in my tea either
I really wish you would lower that microwave. I'm afraid she is gonna burn herself or spill hot on herself.
Its built in.
