It's a song on its own with no other players. Such a musical player and knew the power of simple repeating parts.

Clive's groove is tremendous. Nicko is a fantastic player, and much more technical, but Clive had that consistent sound and was solid as a rock.

it was a error to take Nicko, he doesn’t fit with the band as much as Clive , no way

He and phil rudd great simplistic groove drummers. I mean different styles. But they knew the importance of keeping a grove In the pocket and coming back around again

Clive's tightness and skill are unprecedented! Nicko is great, but Clive had a more linear approach with precision and speed.

The time, the consistency/evenness, the creativity, the `feel, the style; AND the *sound of those Ludwigs = one of the top tier drummer ever! I'm a big single bass fan, and there's a certain art to it that can be super musical and extremely impressive solo wise where it actually sounds more than just one bass drum if you have the gift and creativity to give the single bass a chance, Clive did all thee above and that's what I just love about the guy. The Number of the Beast album was... lol I mean that sound and how he played his parts you just can't get any better than that. Actually got to see them NOTB tour, I think I was 21 at the time and Clive freaked me out! Live the way he played and the way his arms moved, I just was not expecting that at all -- a lot of finesse and power at the same time, just a joy and inspiration to watch! Sorry long winded, Peace

He was a huge fan of Phil Rudd and John Bonham supposedly he kept talking about how Great Phil Rudd was on Drums for him

@@meanmetalmike666 Phil Rudd was always in my top fave drummers and influences growing lol not to mention Bonham. The things that are so interesting about Rudd is that when he was replaced the drummers were really great but they just didn't have that same feel and grove, and that did affect the band IMO.
The other thing is most drummers and people think he's supper basic - and he is, BUT I challenge anyone to play Shoot to Thrill and nail every hit, which is not extremely hard but making it `feel right is another story, especially if someone records you, lol then you'll see what I'm talking about. Bonham was my fave so Clive saw what most of us saw and like most of us those two are always mentioned when it comes to main influences, thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know that. Peace

@@toothnail605 can ya blame Phil now for not wanting to be back on Drums with Cliff Retiring and Angus running the whole band now

@@meanmetalmike666 I hear ya! Yeah so many top tier bands try and continue on past their shelf life with less than 50% of thee original member etc; then it becomes a foolish mockery joke, and a big cringing embarrassment.
Now that's not always the case but you know what I mean. "Farewell Tour #8..." lol
Soooo stoked Zepp did what they did when Bonzo died.
Personally I think the secret and/or proper thing to do is rename or come up with different name this way you can still do your fave songs but you don't drag the Legacy of the band [and the name] through a bunch of cow manure. Peace
