Yes, a good, pleasing lens on a full frame, good color and IQ.

Hi Bert, tanks for the nice review. I guess the 50 mm is full frame notation and equivalent, so in Fuji language it is a 33/35mm focal lenght? Take care.

Thanks Peter. And you're right: 50 on full frame, 35 on Fuji X and around 65 on GFX.

I need to stop watching these 50mm manual lens reviews, which make me keep buying more 50mm lenses. I already own eight 50mm lenses. I wish someone can make a good 35mm F0.95 M mount full frame lens. My favorite so far is Voigtlander 50mm F1 and TTArtisan 50mm F0.95. I use them paired with TechArt adapter turning these to reliable autofocus lenses. Modern clinically perfect lenses just don't produce images like these manual lenses. Love them!!

Haven't tried those ultra fast lenses, but I'm sure I can find a place in my bag for one 😁

It is true. You cannot have enough 50mm lenses. However, I cannot stand Chinese lenses.
So, this one would be in the landfill in my case. I have too many reasons why not to like it.
Like many Chinese lens makers they are copying the industrial design of Leica. It foes even down to the font and colour choices of the writing.
This lens might not be like that but this enough for my not to support them.
There are more reason. No re-sell value. There are political reasons. I would rather get a Voightlander than any Chinese lens.
I find it ridiculous that Chinese companies have to pay very little for postage (look at temu and aliexpress at your airport in Liege)
Yes, you can call me a sinophobe.

Thanks for sharing your perspective! I understand that gear preferences and ethical concerns vary widely. I just try to focus on the lens but I will definitely keep thinking about these concerns.

@oliverlison I'm guessing that you typed this on a Chinese made phone (or keyboard), with Chinese made components, etc etc etc.
I support your position, I just think it's beyond hypocritical. Maybe start your crusade with products/industry that make a difference.
Growing the options available to rangefinder shooters can only improve our experience.
And they're not just copies. Often times equal to better performance, more aperture blades, closer min focus distances, de-clicky aperture ring. etc.
All of this only pushes Leica and others to do better.

The voigtlanders are objectively worse off especially for Leica M bodies since they don't have any tactile feedback below 0.7m. Optically they're all good in their own way with their quirks. I urge you to cure your sinophobia and learn more about others. Hate towards any group of people is often based on fear and ignorance. Besides Chinese manufacturing is not like what it was 20 years ago. They've already taken over many other first world countries, including Japan, Korea, and the USA.
Lenses are objects, there is no politics in it. Resale value has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with politics. They make decent homage lenses like the 50mm f2 Eureka lens, and other manufacturers like Light Lens Lab even sourced a near exact copy of the glass for their lenses. A copycat is one that simply follows the optical formula and slaps their own designs on. Manufacturers that insist on using the exact same chemical composition for their lens elements are not any old copy cat.
I think it's fine to hate on products from an objective POV but to do so with an entirely subjective POV that is tainted by irrelevant bias and supporting opinions doesn't make much sense.
