TATA group is no match for big Japanese companies like Toyoda Canon and the like. Tata has invested very less in fundamental research and development of India (except early years after independence like TIFR IISc). As an Indian I can say they are equivalent of Hyundai of South Korea. They are indian company but they are less concerned about technology and industrial revolution in India.
You are wrong. TATA 's jaguar land rover is one of best luxury car manufacturers like bmw, Mercedes, audi ,Lexus, Ferrari. And Range rover is best off-road luxury car in the world all know that.
