“I lift up my eyes to the mountains- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2 Only God!! Absolutely beautiful and thank you for sharing from “the other viewpoint” of creation!! Breaks my heart to hear over and over again, “millions and millions of years ago when the earth….”, and well, you know how that statement is finished. Who else can create such stunning colors of the sunset, snow on the mountains, and even rain in the desert? Only God!!
Thank you so much Randy for another incredibly wonderful outdoor video. I feel the hand of God in each of your videos. It's very sad that some people would ever want to deface or ruin these magnificent petroglyphs. It is obvious that these people know not God. The Bible teaches that human beings were created “very good” by a loving God (Genesis 1:31), but that goodness was marred by the sin of Adam and Eve. Subsequently, the entire human race fell victim to the sin nature. The good news is that at the moment a person trusts in Christ, he receives a new nature... I pray this may be an inspirating word for someone reading this... God Bless you Randy .... Robin :-)
Blessed my heart to read that clear, biblical, and convincing presentation of the Gospel, brother! If you get a chance, check out my sermon from last week (1/16).
Another great video by Americas Parks! Y’all do a great job and bring awareness to our beautiful country. Thank you for making these- they are my go to videos when planning NP trips. Cheers!
Great video, thanks for sharing and a belated Happy New Year. We have been blessed to now call Utah home, what a gift.We haven’t made it to the area in this video but look forward to it. Blessings!!🙏🥾
Splendid travels through southern Utah. I will indeed go again to that area. Near that area is very well known for the slot canyon hikes, Peekaboo and Spooky Gulch, perhaps that will be your next video. Randy I love how joyful and glad for life you sound in the videos.
Very cool, brother! I never heard of this one, but I definitely want to do this in the future now! Absolutely amazing shots of the arch from the Drone. Thanks for all the information, Randy!
You are right! i need to get to Utah soon! Beautiful crisp morning, with that orange mountain alpine glow, looks like paradise! The more river crossing, the further the hike, cooler weather, all worth it to enjoy a place without the crowds. Keep given er!
Randy, You said it - SPECTACULAR. I will have to watch this video a few times to soak in all the gorgeous scenery. Fantastic Indian Ruins and petroglyphs. You showed us how the color along this trail is so unique. I love the October colors of the foliage. THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ON THEM RIVER TRAIL, . . . Mike
Those colors are amazing!Looks like a really nice trail and with those 4 bonuses toward the end it can’t be beat. Thanks so much for sharing. Take care always.
Beautiful crisp morning. Fabulous colours and a magnificent arch. Throw in the petroglyphs and the Jug Handle arch and you really have a great little walk. I have driven route 12 several times and never picked up on this trail. I must do better homework. Thanks for the walk once more.
what a beautiful place! those red rocks with all the green and yellow, love it... awesome ruins and glyphs/ sorry to hear about more recent vandals but thanks for the message and tips too
Wow those rock formations are absolutely beautiful. Definitely saved this one! I’ve driven by the grand staircase escalante 100s of times but I can’t figure out what hike I wanna do! Thank you for all the ideas!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoy your videos! Keep them coming. Was curious, the shirt you’re wearing where did you get it? He is greater than me is awesome 😀
Hey Dan, really appreciate that! Encouraged you noticed the shirt. I just purchased it off the Internet. Do a search for "He is greater that me (or I) "and you'll get a ton of nice options.
@@AmericasParks yes I saw that one too. I'm very much into doing as many hikes as possible in a day and so I'll try to get 3 done. Highly recommend Coyote Gulch if you're in Escalante again.
That area in Northern Arizona and Southern Utah is like either in the 100s or below 50. I swear I spent all summer waiting for the fall, and the second the fall came, the weather dropped from 90 to 60 and below. Like c'mon
great video, Randy! I'm doing this hike in September, and my main decision is whether to wear my Altra Lone Peak 6 (not waterproof but quick drying supposedly) or my Oboz mids that are waterproof but heavier.
Tough call, Mark. Water level will be at times above your ankles. We were there in October. Water was cold, but doable with regular gym shoes. Personally, I'd go lighter.
It's amazing that you had such cold temps in October - and on my bday! The arches and colors really pop, and the series of river crossings was an amazing part of this trail. Loved the addition of the drone footage as well!
Aha! Route 12 in GSENM...so great. Did you start the walk by the highway Bridge across the road? I wanted to do the walk a few years ago but alas my hiking friend couldn't find his water shoes (he found it buried in his luggage later that day..haha). There is a neat scramble across the road to a site called 100 hands. Now working on a new painting of a Hudson Hornet (again) in front of an arch at Arches NP....and yet another great video in Utah!
Hi Rich, since this is not a National Park site (BLM Land), drones are permitted. And the wifi is all included within the drone, so no signal necessary. Where allowed, you'll always be able to take off. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Randy, what month do you think traveling to Utah is the best? We have to fly there and rent an RV when we get there. Originally we wanted to do May, but now we have put it off until Sept.
Summers are always tough with the crowds. Kind of hot too. I personally think September is best when the folks thin out. We went in mid/late October - a little colder at night if camping, but sweet fall colors. May before school lets out is good too.
@@AmericasParks Thank you! We are going mid-Sept! Now, is there any way you could help us pick the few best (easy to moderate) hikes we can do in Escalante? I would be forever grateful.
We appreciate your T-shirt and your Scipture reference ! Could you share the specific music songs you used for this video? We really like the song about the river in particular and would like to know the artist. Is there somewhere in your video link where we can find that? Thank you!
Appreciate that, Amy! From Escalante, go east on highway 12 toward Boulder. About 14 miles out of Escalante, just after crossing the bridge over the Escalante River (MP 73.9), turn left (west) to a parking area and trailhead. I believe it was available on gps.
@@AmericasParks thanks so much !! I live in AZ so want to plan a trip there. My daughter and I drove across southern UT last April and we fell in love with the area. I just found your channel and I really like your hiking videos! I follow other hiking folks too and have learned a lot of great info for trips.

Brrrr. I prefer the the summer months. The sun looks like it warmed things up though. So beautiful.
Sun was out, but that water was cold!

Utah is the most beautiful state ♥️♥️ I’m from Arizona , AZ is close second
I am with you 100%. In all my traveling, tough to beat southern UT. And yes, Arizona is right up there as well!

Did you need a permit to fly your drone?
No, this is BLM land, no permit necessary in that area.
where did you camp?
We were at Zion the day before so we slept in that area - about 2.5 hours away. Hi-Road Campground 12120 HWY 9, Mount Carmel, UT.
