      I tried to change diet and also exercise. Unfortunately, I can't do much. I have no money to have good lifestyle.
      I also work 2 jobs to support family and usually sleep less while working more.
      I just pray I can keep every thing in check and be healthy for my kids, somehow.
      Thank you for teaching us some tips, Kaite. Happy New Year.

    I've taken two fasting blood sugars so far.
    1 was 6.9 mmol. The other was 5.5 mmol.
    I also took my blood sugar 1 hour and 2 hours after eating
    After 1 hour of eating - 5.7 mmol
    After 2 hours - 4.8 mmol
    My Hab1c is 32mmol
    Finally, I don't have any of those 7 prediabetes symptoms

    Awesome video. I read something awhile back about the darker patches of skin around the neck and armpits. Doesn't that have something to do with insulin resistance and your diet too?

    I had high triglycerides/cholesterol and the hairs, not proud of that. Always trying to eat healthy but a little sedentary, I have to admit. Regular BP though. But, after a heart attack, 2 stents and a quadruple bypass, I'm feeling good and healthy, controling my numbers whith pills. Except for my diabetes, it keeps going up and the pills/doses make no difference

      No, these signs can start 5-10 years before your fasting glucose raises enough to be diagnosed with prodiabetes.

    I'm curious, I noticed my morning fasting was 100-105 but when I do 18 hours of Intermittent fasting and test before I eat it goes up to 111-115, is this normal to have it go up? I'm scaling all the sugar out of my diet now and dropping weight, aiming for 25 pounds off my body.

    I only had one of the signs, which was elevated triglycerides and HDL. I was a marathon runner, a mountain biker, thin, fit, a vegetarian and a vegan for 6 months but ate a lot of sugar like acai bowls, trail mixes and power bars; ate frequent small meals which drove up my insulin and over time my a1c crept up to 6.4 (6.5 is diabetic). I know they say Type 2 diabetes is a disease of the diet, not hereditary, but my father died of it at a younger age. I had to take some solid measures to drive my a1c down, like fasting and not eating for days, which worked well as my a1c went down to normal levels after 6 months of strict time-restricted eating schedules, no carbs, no sugars. I did lose my hair (and weight) but at least I am no longer in danger of being diabetic (for now).

    Do you think people with short torsos have higher incidences of diabetes? I have long, skinny arms and legs, but I’ve always had a protruding stomach, even as a child. I always look just a little bit pregnant. I’ve tried cutting carbs, cutting sugar, exercise, cardio, situps, etc. etc. Nothing helps. Both of my parents have diabetes and I’m really worried they could come for me. I just can’t seem to get the belly fat to go away, no matter what I do

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  9 місяців тому +1

      It’s not to do with the size of your torso, but it sounds like you have a lot of visceral fat. I have videos on this you might find helpful ❤️ ua-cam.com/video/GaavyaBv_Cw/v-deo.htmlsi=NSYVcSNDSRnZFK7F

    I just found out I have a fatty liver and I am very confused about what foods I should be eating some things I read say Don't eat fat don't eat meat and then other things I read say it's the carbs. But I know number one thing is to lose weight. I've also read that fatty liver and diabetes go together. This is scary.

      😂😂😂 I wish it was that easy!! 😅😅 Growing up my diet was very healthy, 99% homemade from scratch. At 15 my cholesterol started going up slowly and it never stopped. Always taking pills. And I never liked candy and sweet stuff in general. Today I have diabetes and I still don't consume sugar but my numbers, for no reason, have very high peaks. Diabetes doesn't come from sugar

    1:44 Is not waist to height, but waist to weight ratio.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  9 місяців тому +4

      I am definitely referring to waist to height. Nothing to do with weight (besides the relevance to waistline).

    • @torpilo
      @torpilo 9 місяців тому

      @@HealthCoachKait The waist to height ratio is not an accurate measure. Is the same thing as the BMI, in which heaving muscles transforms you into a fat/obese person.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  9 місяців тому +2

      @torpilo no it’s not the same as BMI.

    • @torpilo
      @torpilo 9 місяців тому

      @@HealthCoachKait Both measures are flawed. You can get healthier, stronger and with more musculature, while the same height. Doing deadlifts for example, will also thicken you waist as a foundation for the rest of your body, and heaving strong abdomen muscles doesn't make you fatter.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  9 місяців тому

      @torpilo I don’t think you know what exercises deadlifts work 😅 Deadlifts are not going to increase your waistline so your ratio puts you at risk of prediabetes.

    Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered a critical hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome. Berberine (BBR) exerts anti-hyperglycemic and anti-dyslipidemic effects and can also ameliorate NAFLD. Thus, BBR might exert its therapeutic effect on NAFLD by improving glucolipid metabolism.
