    I think David understands how bad Hollywood and L.A. are. There is inherent beauty in the facade of L.A. and the lights are impressive, but his films/tv have always delved into the dark underbelly that lies beneath the beautiful surface. Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks are perfect examples.

    • @GamesWithBrainz

      I totally see that with stuff like mulholland drive and inland empire but what aspects of Twin peaks do you feel express that? I always felt twin peaks explored the underbelly of small town life as opposed to hollywood

      @@GamesWithBrainz yes I suppose you’re right. I guess I was just tying in the theme of the dark underbelly, but yeah it doesn’t have anything to do with L.A. specifically.

    • @disenchanter
      @disenchanter Рік тому +24

      Okay, you are incorrect about the Spanish translation, anyone that speaks even a bit of Spanish knows, "Los" = "the". Literally, you can google it you need to.
      Lost is Perdió, not Los , which simply means "the".
      So Los Angeles, translated to English is in truth, "the Angels", or the City of Angels.
      I do agree that the city is more aptly named, the "City of Lost Angels", but that's not what the name of the city translates to. Just fyi, for anyone who might be confused by this information being misrepresented.

      It sounds like you made poor decisions while here. A city is simply a place. It holds no power, no innate will. People, notably politicians who create bad policy/law, are to blame. But personal responsibility always is at the root. Wh*res don’t choose that lifestyle 99% of the time, particularly in the west. Bad life choices and circumstances push people, but it’s almost always a choice to entertain bad behavior. Look inwards, Kelly. Look inwards first.
