There is inherent beauty in the facade of L.A. and the lights are impressive, but his films/tv have always delved into the dark underbelly that lies beneath the beautiful surface. Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks are perfect examples.
I totally see that with stuff like mulholland drive and inland empire but what aspects of Twin peaks do you feel express that? I always felt twin peaks explored the underbelly of small town life as opposed to hollywood

Sure the lights are pretty, but the light pollution and general pollution there always os so gross to me. LA is like a David Lynch film theres a beautiful, fun, seemingly good intentioned exterior and then there is the dark interior hiding within. For me though LA’s dark facade is pretty evident everywhere I go. San diego on top. Not to mention the wealth divide is crazy there and David is wealthy
