Well you are looking terrific compared the last time I saw you dumping dust everywhere. You know that is a huge yacht and you may not have realized how much work was involved and how long it would take to finish. You have a terrific idea to get sailing as soon as possible. I would finish one bedroom one bathroom the kitchen and put in a captains chair and away I would go. Doing work as you are sailing around then going for a nice swim afterward sounds like the way to go. Best wishes and good luck 300,000 to 400,000 of savings sounds really good. Nice trip you need to have fun too.
Haha, your "trixie" commercial for Henson Shaving kept my attention for the whole break. That's unprecedented for me. Great job. Will consider the product. Thanks for the 12 month comparison. So much progress. I would be overwhelmed by so many simultaneous projects underway. It seems your juggling skills have been honed by this and prior builds. So impressive.

There is so much work to build a boat, even a kit boat with all the main pieces provided. The manufacturer or designer can tell anyone interested how many thousands of hours it will take an experienced builder team. Most individuals think they will do it in less time but they are always wrong. If there are 5 people working on it full time and they know what they are doing, and have access to all the tools needed, they may be able to finish the boat in the specified number of hours. It is several years of full time work and few of us can spend all our time building so it gets stretched out longer.... You are doing great! Just keep going and eventually it will get done, or at least done enough to sail away and spend several more years finishing the almost endless list of jobs.
The yard in Vietnam is down to around 8500 hours now for a full build. We're of course going to be slower, so I estimate around 12,000 hours total build time

The real tedium is the really endless fairing!! I saw video of a beautiful Shoenning cat that was all built but no finishing. It took the husband ,wife and helpers three years of fairing but to a perfect end result.
Henson razors are awesome! I've been wet-shaving for about 10 years and Henson make the best I've found so far. Aluminum is OK if you want to try without spending too much, but the titanium razor is totally worth it. Nice summary on your boat progress. You're nearly there!

12-16 months. I listened to 2 more minutes of the video.
Can you tell us how much money you expect to save by building this as a kit rather than just buying your Cat factory built ?
Probably about 300-400k. But we're slightly different than the average builder, because our income is made up of featuring the build, as well as getting discounts on items for the build in return for promotion.
If you were given $400k towards a boat built to your specs would you have taken it?
I hope not that's boring
Saving money was never the objective for the build. We wanted the experience, adventure and to learn. And while we hate some moments, the process itself has been so rewarding.

$160,000 at $20/hr.
Matt spends 8-9 hours a day, 7 days a week in there, and I do 6 hours a day, 7 days a week. So he's about 56 hours each week and I'm 42. But our savings for an overall 3.5 years of work on this boat will be about $400k. Plus, we love the work we're doing in there. I'd take it over any other job. 😍
I worry about your lungs. I work in chemical plant and these are some deadly chemicals and should wear full body suits with full encapsulated face and oxygen cylinders
Its neat watch but this isn't realistic from people not making a living by filming it.. takes too long..
Have to agree with you there, we are among the lucky few.
