you said you can put fresh fruit in your muffins. Can u do zucchini? I always put my muffins in the freezer, since there r no preservatives in them and I live in FL. but just so they last longer. How do you determine "time sensitive" as most home baked things do not have preservatives in them. This affects my baking especially, because it is all gluten free, and I use nut flours. I m sure I could leave them on the counter a couple days, but this seems quite subjective. Also, what about waffles? Thanks! This was very helpful.
I've been looking everywhere to see what Florida laws say about Freeze Dried Ice cream products.. .they don't have to be frozen or refrigerated after they are freeze-dried.. I just can never find the info i'm looking for.. Thanks!
Where can I learn more about hot sauce? Because I’ve been told that if it’s strained and bottled it’s fine, because it falls under flavor vinegars, but if it’s chunky and not strained it doesn’t. Just wanna make sure I’m following the right laws.
You convinced me to start a tea business!!! I’m so happy starting at my first farmers market this weekend! How can I explain I purchase them from a wholesaler that sounds nice to customers?
Would flan and cheesecake be out of the question , flan in specific? And how about drinks can i sell sodas and bottled water along with the cottage food?
yes due to the temps it has to be kept at, you can sell sodas and bottle water but this falls under a food vendors license or mobile food business that is completely different licensing.
Can you make tinctures with dried herbs and vegetable glycerin? Most tinctures or many are made with alcohol, but some are made with vegetable glycerin for people that can’t tolerate or shouldn’t consume alcohol.
I have not seen it as a NO item on their list they do offer the ability to ASK in a sense if it can be added as an acceptable food item contact the local health department about the process
I bake cakes from scratch some recipes have butter, cream cheese, sour cream, milk, eggs in the recipe can I sell at and market and buttercream frosting made without milk or heavy cream.
Florida Cottage Laws DO NOT allow us to cook/bake anything from a "rented" kitchen. "In Florida, the use of a commercial kitchen and/or commercial equipment is prohibited, all cottage foods must be made at your primary residence"
In Florida, if you're planning to sell lemonade from a stand or a truck, you will likely need to obtain several permits and licenses to operate legally. Here are the key licenses and permits you may need: Business License: You will need to register your lemonade stand/truck as a business entity with the state of Florida. This may involve obtaining a business license or registering your business name (also known as a "Doing Business As" or DBA registration) with the Florida Department of State. Seller's Permit (Sales Tax License): In Florida, you are required to collect sales tax on taxable items, including beverages like lemonade. You will need to obtain a Seller's Permit (also known as a Sales Tax License) from the Florida Department of Revenue to legally collect and remit sales tax on your lemonade sales. Food Service License: Depending on the specifics of your operation and the scale of your lemonade business, you may need a food service license from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). This license ensures that you meet health and safety standards for food preparation and handling. Mobile Food Vendor Permit: If you plan to operate your lemonade stand from a mobile vehicle (e.g., a lemonade truck), you may need a Mobile Food Vendor Permit from your local county health department. This permit ensures that your vehicle and operation comply with food safety regulations. Temporary Food Service Permit: If your lemonade stand/truck will be set up temporarily for events, festivals, or markets, you may need to obtain a Temporary Food Service Permit from the local health department or event organizers. This permit allows you to operate temporarily at specific locations. Zoning and Permitting: Depending on your location and the regulations of your city or county, you may need to obtain additional permits or approvals related to zoning, land use, and signage for your lemonade stand/truck. It's essential to check with the relevant local and state authorities to determine the specific requirements for operating a lemonade stand or truck in your area of Florida. Regulations and permit requirements may vary depending on factors such as location, scale of operation, and the type of events or venues where you plan to sell lemonade. Additionally, it's a good idea to consult with a business attorney or advisor to ensure that you comply with all legal requirements and regulations for your lemonade business.

I'm about to start a cottage food business and have a question about labeling requirements. If I have an LLC, do I have to put my name and the LLC name on?
when it comes to taxable income there is no min or max you have to report any profit as income and based on your accountant and if your an llc , etc. this is a something to ask your accountant BUT profits are taxable
great question I have not found this on any list that says NO, but you can actually ask the local health dept in your county and I cant see why not since it is NOT listed
